Road to Recovery

The road to recovery

As I looked into the eyes of my son today
I could see that he was in agony, pain and despair
He was loosing control of his mind and his soul
Drowning in Depression, loneliness, and fear

The demons had raised their ugly heads
In search of another victim
Their mission is to crush and destroy
So now the battle of the minds begin

I embrace you my son, with my love
Along with inner strength
As you travel on this next journey in life
Reach out to your higher power
Embrace with love all that has been offer

Believe in your self, Love your self for it is in loving
Yourself that will enable you to love other
Always believe in your higher power
Seek what you are looking for

Stand tall in the presence of fear
I wish you a full recovery
In addition, remember my son
Nothing in life is ever easy

Face the challenges of each day head on
Never look back
Live life One Day at a Time

A Brothers Love

To show my emotions is hard for me to do...But for your sisterly love...I write this to thank you....So from your brother the youngest of nine...May our family of love last for all time jw

My Blossoming Young Lady

My big girl
how you have
grown before
my eyes into
a beautiful
young lady.
You have
figured out
your life
that lays
before you.
You have made
plans to set
your life
in motion for
all to be in
unison.
You are a
encouragement
to your brother
and sister.
They see all
they can be
by what you
have planned &
accomplished.
I am proud of
you my young
women who is in
the world not
of the world.

Stand Up

Half way up
Half way down
I am faced with a choice.

At this crossroads
I can stand up
And be counted
Or lay down
And bleat.

By the sweat of my own brow
By the strength of my own arms
I will pull myself up.
I will look the future in the face
Through the beads of my own sweat
Through my own window.
I shall lead
Whoever choses to follow.
I shall guide
Whoever choses to seek.

I may fail,
I may fall,
I may bloody my knees
In the dirt of the effort
But it will be my own failing.
I will fall because I have fallen
Not because I was pushed
Or ignored,
Or left behind by ancient ships
Ships that now are dust to me.
I not longer know their names
I no longer feel the burden of their chains.
The chains my brothers bore are broken
I, am a free man
I, am not a slave to history
I, am it's student.

I refuse to lay down
With those who bend and break beneath it's weight
I refuse to lay down with moaning lambs.
I will stand,
I will stand tall
Shoulder to shoulder
With the tallest of men
And chose a tall woman
To stand with me.

About this poem:
I'm usually a lurker, but there comes a time when a man needs to speak for himself. My father was a pastor and from the bones of one of his best sermons, i wrote this when he died and read it to his congregation. I am not a religious person but I loved my father and the way he looked at life. I was inspired by a very inspiring man.

legendary

early sun shining upon the dew drips of the morning rose blossoms,
past days gone new days begun surprises in the oven ready to be pulled,
eyes shut all my life stuck in dream time from long before,
sudden scream yells at me not thy misses not thy mother,
lunch time comes and a child be born to my surprise a giant he be,
love has gone and days have past the time has come to open thy eye`s,
growing up is a part of life n time, it all will stop when you a wife,
for boyhood will be revived and you will survive with eye`s wide open,
with your children and wife by your side.

Living In Two Worlds

Do not be fooled by this silly fool’s grin
How my day went don’t know where to begin
Like hiding how hopeless I feel within
Please pour me a glass of tonic and gin

Unfold my cramped arms from across my chest
Been all day since I took a real deep breath
Work shakes me up get all fizzy when stressed
Sometimes my life is like dancing with death

At last I cross through the portal of home
It’s time to check my baggage at the door
Always good to hear a hearty ‘welcome’
Such simple greeting is hard to ignore

Not keeping apart two worlds is a sin
Where one leaves off let another begin

Tricia ...p2

Beneath the shade of the frangipani
You spent your hours there
Ciggie butts overflowing
While the wind played
Havoc with your hair
Your vision always blurred
From the past of your despair
But a smile always welcomed
From under your bespectacled glare
Lost in your world
Amongst thoughts an memories
You'd hardly notice a visitor
Until upon you.. you'd freeze
Out with a shreik
Then your focus repaired
Hello daaaarling was your reply
To show that you cared
Beneath the frangipani
Especially in bloom
You mended many memories
An absolved your gloom

The Lost Outlaw

Sometimes its best to leave well alone
Even when your credibility is cut to the bone
Unquestioned comments will fester away
An time will reveal itself in its own way
Never will a word be spent against kin
The cost to high to appease the sin
Respect for the 'laws is all i thought
No need to beg borrow or be bought
I'll stand my ground an hold my head
Never to know the words that were said
Things will never be the same now i know
A lifetime friendship turned into loyal sorrow
A different vision of what you see
A different vision of you to me

BROTHER

there was a boy that i once knew
now he is alone
and on his own,
he is leaving the nest
to go to a place where he will
hardly ever rest.

he stands so tall
with his back on the wall
and without any reculation
he defends the GREAT NATION!!!

with a gun in hand
looking at his target to kill his enemy
he feels so GRAND
knowing that he can save so many lives
by the pull of one trigger
and without a blink of an eye

he, who is serving this GREAT NATION,
and threw the frustration
you can be sure
there will be domination

cause he is a solider
a true soilder

he has made is family safe
he has made me safe
HE KEEPS EVERYBODY SAFE

he is my hero
and will always be
my hero

this is my brother
this is blood

keeping me safe from harm
keeping all of us
safe from harm

ancestors are current

young is old whilst old be young , we marched the deserts suffered the cold starved to win we are old , we survived lack of food when budgets tight we walked for miles when the car broke down we worked in cold or hot to pay the bills we are young , ancestors to current both endure the same at different times in lifes fate, yet share a tomb or the pillow at night as tommorow will bring a new light
