we endure

I got your picture in my cabin
your smiling face is everywhere
your ghost is what I sail on
through the ocean of your hair
and my work it takes me everywhere
and nowhere fast and slow

it takes a man to plough an acre
it takes a woman to make it grow

the sea elevates my singing
despite my ungrateful tone
my thoughts are made of music
my thoughts are mine alone
then you wander warm inside my mind
like a gift from god to me

it takes a man to bring his story
it takes a woman to set him fee

girl we never did much talking
and when we did it was so brief
we laughed about eachother
and we smiled through pain and grief
you made the mundane magic
and you fought hard for your dream

it takes a man to set a plough right
it takes a woman to hitch a team

there's an empty chair that held you
a rare creature tall and true
if life has taught me one thing
Ive learned it all from you
and you laughed at my cowboy movies
as I turned into my old man

it takes a man to work his heart out
it takes a woman to give a damn

Always Here............

Come rest your weary bones
And gaze out across the sea
This place was my paradise
And meant the world to me
Share your words and thoughts
And paint your memory
Relax in the timbers
Designed by my family
My spirit lays within the breeze
Under the shade of the casuarina trees
And in their thoughts I still surround
Their hopes and dreams that still abound
Forever together with thoughts in mind
Come rest your weary bones
And I’ll share with you kind .........

covid 19

there was a girl in china
but the radio signal died
I told her we were hundred
to keep her spirit but I lied

people started dropping
in the spring of seventeen
the white coat fellas called it
it was nothing they had seen

I am a collection of bones
my heart is hollowed out
every molecule migrated
to the continent of doubt

bones be best of me
drum like on my skin
if my loving folk could see me
they would not call me kin

infection steals my lungs
my spirit now wiped clean
alive thanks to seaweed
the root of food and iodine

I trip along a promise
to the wife I left behind
a shuffled wreck upon the deck
a birthday wish to save my mind

she told me to honour
the day that she was born
to mark that day in a special way
before she slept beneath the corn

this old abandoned airfield
it took me years to try
there ain't no practical virtue
I don't know how to fly

alone in this maelstrom
I hunt a haunted 'why'?
but do it still I know I will
write her name across the sky

The World of Einstein and me

Last night I still took you to bed
Touched your little head
Your sad eyes stare
The sun is still shining today
You're already cold
Lay down well
Sleeping with eyes open
My Einstein
Tomorrow autumn rain will fall on your grave

And the world is always the world of yesterday
Rise from the winter chair
I'm still worried
disturb you curled up
Always touch your head
Say "Go back to sleep, Tantan"——
Big hairs with dirty
Dandy with graceful gait
Gifted singer knowing nothing
Pull down cactus
The burglar who buried the bun in the flowerpot
Only two seconds bloody battle in your life
Raising wounded paw for my inspection
As defeated General with the broken flag
Looking for the Medal of Comfort
Flying on to my bed, occupying my seat
Close tracking, Limit jumping
Quickly surrendering, always suspecting
Three turns around a tree, where to pee?
Playful and popular
A little skin-broken, thousand times grievances
Every time I go home
There's always you waiting behind the door
Just like the sun scatters the clouds
Happily reunited after the robbery
My Einstein

Still behind our glass
Little Tantan, I hold you
Look out of the window, the another world
The sky has colours you haven't seen before
Draw layers of white clouds and you
Draw the bleak four seasons fleeing at full speed
Look at the Yellow ginkgo tree
Osmanthus blooms
Holly bears green fruit
Creeping purple grass all over the ground
Neither you nor I know their name
Deep water and green riverbanks
Five wild flowers are sweet and empty
protecting and Washing and irrigating
Why do the blossoms last for many years?
With you on the side, the ceremony as usual
I'm busy, You're watching
Your nose is still sharp
All that disappears is the illusion world
Tantan
Remember which benevolent planet you came from
Remember the way home
And in the afternoon sun
What I told you in your ear

Einstein
Sometimes you are so arrogant
No calling your full name
No bothering to look back
The scenery that you missed
made me to burst into tears
You just lie down beside me calmly
Complying with the agreement since ancient times
Hide the biscuits under my pillow
Welcome me home
Vicissitudes of life
My treasure, your indifference
Constant world in your heart
Chaos and confusion in my eyes
Companion in my life, suddenly the distant stars
Without warmth or cold, is there any sunshine ?
I look at you so worried
You look back at me the same way
How can I comfort you?
Everything will be fleeting
You know I'm happy for birds
Sad for deciduous
Einstein
You're happy and you're sad
Needless to say, neither to hide
One day
Snowstorm will cover up all life
Take away our humble wishes
—— be concentric with no lonely
My breath is your life
You are between me and the moon

Under the broad shade of cedar trees
Behind the lush marigold bushes
At noon you are buried with the sun
Still night I wander under the moon
Take all the words
Tell you again
You're not there in three days.

Foundation

To be willing
to put a crack
On solid foundations,
would I not be
Too dumb, too stupid,
too shallow
To hurt a loyal heart, proven
To be resolved, faithful, true;
Free spirited
yet long-suffering
Willingly facing
challenges with you?
Loyalty! Honesty!
Dedication!
Much too rare these days
While a few nice words and
Fleeting moments of glee
Floats everywhere
Like a hailstorm
Bombarding us daily
out here in cyberspace!

Mama Quotes

He wouldn't be hankerin after fancy deserts if he'd take more of his meals at home.

If she doesn't know what she's missing, she can't be missing much.

Tell her to keep the cats and get her boyfriend fixed.

You could look up disgusting in the dictionary and there'd be a picture of this.

I never go any place where they have more forks than food

About this poem:
I got lucky enough to see Vicki Lawrence in concert on November 5. She did half the show as herself and the other half as Mama Harper from the TV show Mama's Family. She said it was the first time she forgot to wear her glasses. I spent ten dollars the first time because the woman told me all the seat were sold out. Finding out later that she was confused and there were plenty of seats, I had to purchase two more tickets for 70 bucks and give the standing tickets to a friend of mine. At least I got three other people I knew to see her.

There was a girl

There was a girl

In her dream
She dreamt her lover came
and took her for a ride
in the countryside
They drove way up to the top of the mountain
It was a beautiful warm perfect balmy summer day
He pulled over to the edge of the curb
To just visit with her
A sign said
This is not lovers lane
We don't promote teenage pregnancy
Keep moving!
Violators will be prosecuted!
A cop tapped on the glass
And said what are you doing up here?
Didn't you read the sign
Keep moving
He said I only wanted to show her how beautiful
It is up here to show her the panoramic view of the lake
And picturesque view of the mountains
Keep moving he said
Your not allowed to park here
This is my beat
I don't allow it
He reached for her
She said what r u doing?
He said how should I know?
It's your dream?
Haha

About this poem:
This was a mostly a
true story from many moons ago
Up on a mountain top
Somewhere over the Great Lakes of Michigan
Looking down into a valley
Just two fully clothed in a car
Enjoying a day
An elderly dad of around 80
showing a daughter over 35 an old building broken down
That the youths of his day square danced in
Some is fiction some truth
The sign 100% true
The cop was there w his words
But they were not lovers
Just dreaming
Of yester years
Like aprox. 30 Years ago

Worship What Matters

This body will turn to dust
There’s nothing left
We can do no more
I’ve given it my best
So many high points
Not much room to spare
What gets the best of me
Every time beyond compare
A smile that greets me warmly
A hand when help is needed
A cocky smile all the while
Is better left conceded
The body will drown
When we’re cut off from air
Do we still do what we dare
Sometimes beyond compare
That delicate act the first time
I rode without training wheels
Down the somewhat smooth sidewalk
In my memory banks reveal
A time when I could feel
Such Joy ! Such Warmth !
Everyday is just a moment
Time will travel on
I just give you my greatest
Blessings of all time

summer's end

summer goodbye
next year we'll fly
she told me...
when leaves turn to gold
and the whole world gets cold
and snows be..

there's a scar in my mind
to kindness I'm blind
I told her..
but her warmth is a tile
on the roof of her smile
and shoulder..

on a dripping bathroom
a bathing costume
that holds her..
in a sea made of tears
and turbulent years
that scold her...

so come on home
come on home
you don't have to
blindly roam

just come on home.

I saw you today
in the usual way
by sleeping..
your two eyes did glow
from a stain glass window
just.. peeping

and your stare was bridge
transversing a ridge
that froze me..
and you called my heart on
telling me to be strong
like you'd be..

so come on home
come on home
you don't have to
blindly roam

just come on home.
