'smile'! a song

welcome to my world, come in there's room for you.
leave your troubles on the doorstep.
the fire is burnin bright, I'm glad to be alive.
tell me something about yourself.
and if we find some common ground
I think we might just hang around
for a while
so smile for me
the snow has gone away, the sun is comin our way
days of never ending
not goin to waste my time, every minute is just fine.
surrounded by such beauty.
and if we find some common ground I think we might just hang around
for a while
so smile for me
here at the end of the song I'm thinking what went wrong
with the world around me
the truth is evident - old ways are nearly spent
at least that's what I see
and if we find some common ground
I think we might just hang around
take a walk with me and what we'll see
will make us smile for a little while

Hold you near

I wish I could explain you, tell you my love
How much pain I bear to see
U lying in front of me
Clinging to life,
fighting so hard to survive
I could see it in your eyes all the time
Whenever u look in mine
The thing I most dread, I terribly fear
I dread losing you, every time I hold u near.

We have gone thru so much together
I always prayed for u to be with me forever
I never thought one day I will be all alone
And I will realize that u will be gone
Life feels so dark without ur presence
Your love was the only light which guided me thru
For me you were my world sweetheart, only you
As time is passing, I could feel it deep down and clear
I dread losing you, every time I hold u near

I want you to know whenever I look in ur eyes
There is something which ur heart denies
You hate to go away from my world just as I do
But this reality is so hard to be true
I wish I could change things just once
Just once I terribly want you
I just cannot let u do this to me
This is just impossible for me to bear
I dread losing you, every time I hold u near……….

My Friend

You are a new friend
You have come into
my life at a perfect
time and place.
You are there for
me to lean on.
I am glad we have
met each other.
Thanks for all you
have done and
continue to do.

Word-ly Gift

My gift to you I say,
perhaps just words but they are true.
I have nought but my heart
so this verse I give to you.

It comes form deep inside me
where no one else can go;
emotion,feeling,joy,delight
alas for you I'll show.

These words are meant for
nought but you,
their meaning to explore;
fields of imagination-
here is the key....
come open up the door.

I Think of You

Sometimes . . .
When I feel walked on,
Yelled at, misused and abused,
I recall your soft-spoken voice . . .
And the way it calms me,
And puts me at ease.
And, I think . . . gentle.

Often . . .
When I’m very alone,
Feeling as if no one cares or remembers,
I recall the kind words you’ve spoken . . .
When I’ve least expected them,
But needed them most.
And, I think . . . thoughtful.

Frequently . . .
When I’ve so desired an honest response,
But seldom received it,
I recall your blunt,
Yet straightforward answers . . .
And your willingness to discuss the truth.
And, I think . . . sincere.

Now . . .
Whenever I hear the words,
Gentle, thoughtful, sincere . . .
I think . . . friend,
And, naturally . . .
I think of you.

About this poem:
Friendship is the most important relationship we can cultivate, outside of our nuclear family circle. Do we ever fall "out of like" with close, dear friends? A very dear friend recently said "when a 'friend' does fall "out of like" with you, he/she wasn't a true friend in the first place."

Tormented!

Tormented!

The illusive Dream

A quiet companion for an older man!

To be alone with so much desire in my heart

But she says I am too old and she is right, but …
I still am here lonely on this earth

… And maybe she?

I no longer can breed her need of motherhood

Not mobile to kick the ball of life

Cannot climb the rocky hills with her or hike the trails or walk around the block

But what can I do, but fall in love with you?

Wants a woman that likes TV and computer for her sports

A Dunkin Donut as her fingers plays upon her computer’s keyboard at home!

Listen to music of melodies of good taste and rhythmic beat

Good conversation of good memories of days that past

Of current events that do not last!

A quiet lady that likes her home, that is a bit old and no longer wishes to roam

Maybe a ride near the shore, to listen to the ocean’s gentle roar

A restaurant where to eat, a cozy corner to be discrete, to hold our hands while we do eat!

A woman to share … Where is she I wonder where?

The Wet Rose

“The Wet Rose”

A rose for you
one that is wet
The sweetest smell
The sweetest yet
It is forgiving
almost all of the time
for this red rose grows not on a vine
Wet red petals of blooming bud
Prickly thorns sometimes thirst for blood
When it is caressed by gentle hands
It may multiply in many lands
The glimmering drops of tiny dew
On this wet rose I give to you
So enjoy it now
and forever long
for this wet rose will not last long
but keep it safe and in your heart
and always remember when were apart
not to worry or go astray
and remember these words you hear today.
For yesterday is gone
and today is here
but tomorrow will always bring laughter and plenty of cheer.

Misery

No mystery about me.
I’m very real.
Funny . . . I believed you were, too.

Oh, well, there I go, again, believing in people.

No . . . I won’t apologize.
I did not misbelieve, misunderstand, nor mistake you.

My dear person . . .
You misrepresented yourself.

Now . . . go find where you mislaid what
I saw in you that mislead me.

Pardon me a moment while I erase the mist in my eyes.

About this poem:
Online or in person, we can be fooled. We don't have to meet someone face to face to have an inside track on exactly whether or not that person is genuine. And that goes for both genders.

Thank You

Thank you for believing in me,
When I found it difficult
To believe in myself.
For saying what I've needed to hear sometimes,
Instead of what I've wanted to hear,
For siding with me,
And for giving me another side to consider.
Thank you for opening yourself to me,
For trusting me with your thoughts,
And disappointments and dreams.
For knowing you can count on me,
And for asking my help when you need it.
Thank you for putting so much
Thought and care and imagination
Into our friendship.
For sharing so many nice times
And making so many special memories with me.
Thank you for always being honest with me,
Being kind to me and being there for me.
Thank for being a friend to me.
In so many heartfelt ways,
Thank you.
