It’s Not for Me

to decide how things must be
or tell you what is best for you, nor
clothes of a bystander wear, watching silently
while you are threatened or killed.

So, in your life, what role do I play?
How does one make a difference
but not get in your life’s way?
Questions that haunt are deeply instilled.

Searching for answers, pecking the keys
to type paved pathways to freedom
Doors and hearts opened, fingers squeezed
back-spacing over hatred, a better life to build.

With wounds and demons to fight
both from within and without, all
as our circle closes tightly, under harsh light,
ozone comes through holes waiting to be filled.

Though within the spectrum of light lies,
within its whiteness, colors, we cannot see
those bands of caring that span the skies
until by refraction rainbow-beauty is spilled.

While it is not for me to decide
or to tell you what is best for you
It is for me with you to abide
together, by beveled mirror, revealed.

This ones for you

Sometimes in this lifetime, we meet a special soul
Who fills our very essence to almost overflow
We drink the cup of friendship it tastes like ruby wine
And you know within you heart this meeting was divine

The starting of a journey in which we both shall be
A reflection of each other, for all eternity
In this time in life when I’m struggling along
Wanting to meet someone, just wanting to belong

If my heart could talk I’m sure it would say
How lonely I’ve been since love went away
With no one to kiss and no one to hold
Love will come again, so I have been told

Free me from my worries and when I’m in doubt
Leave the past behind us and seek the future out
So put your arms around me, and wanting to be there
The start of our friendship, together we will share

As I look into your eyes, as our bodies slowly touch
Your warm breath gets closer, wanting you so much
The start of our new romance the thoughts of your embrace
Excitement and adventure, I see upon your face

Who know what life will bring us as our friendship grows
What lies ahead is something no one knows

She's my best friend and I love her.

To see us walking side by side down country lanes or city streets.
You would feel the love between us both you’d see it in our eyes.
I’d smile a knowing smile at you as you glanced when passing by.
And she would then look back at you as she does with all she meets.

We walk past all the folk we know I say hello she nods her head.
Sometimes we stop and chat a while I chat she just stands there.
But all the time she’s looking round for someone she may know.
Until I’ve finished chatting she’ll be listening to me instead.

Then off we go along our way until it’s time to venture home.
We’re both worn out and tired now it’s been a long old walk.
Past the village grocer’s shop the old school then the farm.
Home at last she rushes past exhausted but still grabs her bone.

pen n paper

listen to the truth inside.
caught up in hate and lies.
im not your enemy im no spy.
you say i never believe in you.
but thats all i ever will do.
so please stop feeling blue.
all i ever see is stars in your eyes.
i hate it every time you cry.
don't hesitate go for your gold.
come on try to be bold.
friend i know you will be just fine.
with me by your side.

An Irish Blessing For All At The Poetry Corner

May you always find blue skies above your head
Shamrocks beneath your feet;
Laughter and joy aplenty,
And kindness from all you meet.

Good friends and kin to miss you
If you ever choose to roam;
And a path that's been cleared
By the angels themselves
To carry you safely home.

FRIENDSHIP

Thank you friend for all the times
That you’ve been there for me
For giving freely of yourself
Provided unconditionally

Thank you for your understanding
When things aren’t black and white
For putting me on a pedestal
On the rare times that i'm right

Thank you for the shoulder
I cried upon that day
For the prolonged conversations
And meeting me halfway

Thank you for all the time and effort
The patience that you spend
But most of all I want to thank you
For being my best friend

saving a heart dedicated to japan

take my heart with you carry it in the dark.
there are angels to light up every face like a spark.
if i could i would trade you places my friends.
you are a stranger but my heart for you never ends.
may god be with you all from me to heaven to japan.
i send my prayers my hope and my love.

###Who Will Love You When You're Old and Grey?###

Who will love you when you're old and grey?
Who will love you when your looks fade away?
Who will take that extra time
To tell you that you're doing fine?
It's not the hardest task to bear
To work out just who will be there,
It will be those who you call friend
That will love you till the very end.
