A person everyone is interested in
Dispense count the cost in pence
his dishevelled manner and grey hair rinse
benignly straddles the middle of the fence

His trash attracted other peoples trash
and always calling regularly
friends and fools who can smoke their cash
Ironic attempts to banish apathy

Forever in me is a part of thee
Always in my heart,
We're never apart,
One day well be eventually,
From now till then then,
Goodbye my friend.

Afternoon

I think of you
While you are
Sleeping

You read my words
While I
Sleep

And our notes
Intersect
In between
Shut eyes

If the timing
Is good
We meet online
In real time

Just to contact someone lonely, to say you're on my mind
It doesn't take much planning, to just pick up the phone
And ring to say Merry Christmas, are you all alone?

I'm just about to do just that and ring someone I know

Your flame and mine may not be the same

But you have felt all my pain just the same

You have been a friend and so much more

And have truly touched my heart and mind and my entire core

When it comes to love we both run away

And this it seems is were we want to stay

Alone and separate in our ways

This is how we chose to spend our days

Maybe some day we will both change our mind

And find someone who is loving sweet and kind

It begins long before the first frost -

Somewhere between memory and reality.

It touches us with compassion

and whispers to us of hope.

It tiptoes into our hearts with elation

and opens our souls to faith.

Its name is Christmas and we have yet to learn

How to keep it close for more than

this one brief, shining moment.

Someday, perhaps...with love.

The Sort of Friend
I'd like to be the sort of friend that
you have been to me;
I'd like to be the help that
you've been always glad to be;

I'd like to mean as much to you
each minute of the day
As you have meant, old friend of mine,
to me along the way.

I'd like to do the big things and
the splendid things for you,
To brush the gray from out your skies
and leave them only blue;

I'd like to say the kindly things that
I so oft have heard,
And feel that I could rouse your soul
the way that mine you've stirred.

I'd like to give you back the joy
that you have given me,
Yet that were wishing you a need
I hope will never be;

I'd like to make you feel as rich as I,
who travel on
Undaunted in the darkest hours with you to
lean upon.

I'm wishing at this time that I
could but repay
A portion of the gladness that
you've strewn along my way;

And could I have one wish this year,
this only would it be:
I'd like to be the sort of friend
that you have been to me.

So many must feel the emptyness of to go...
some come and others go
It is hard when we become a big poet family...
Never like saying the goodbyes...
But always can open the heart with wonderful
welcomes as another has joined...
If you must go just remember it is the empty spot
that you have left, as for another spot to be written
as a new has joined...........
When one has step away it is a thump into the mind of
to wonder why one has left...Then one steps up and
poet corner is alive with another post to exspress it
from the heart to be just a thought of the moment
if it ryhmes and if it does not just to be that
point of your mind of words to be shouted out by another
I wanted to be that part of poet corner...
