The Man From Trinidad And Tobago

He's the man that holds the moon in his hand
From Morvant, Trinidad and Tobago
The words he writes are laced with honey
Always gentle, kind and uplifting
Loves his mother and his family
Reads stories at bedtime to his nephew
No nasty words will pass his lips
Or allow his pen to be writing
War and famine he abhors
Words of peace he's spreading
Who is this man with gentle soul
Who comes in mine and your home
He goes by Poetnumber1
A champion amongst champions

Social Evaporation

Checking out your profile I send you a few lines
One of many suitors in search of elusive love so divine
You answered my initiative with a sense of energy that this time it was for real
A hidden sense inside your psyche assumed this was the emotional high I too would be able to feel.

We exchanged photos and were impressed by the images in front of our view
Common interests were several in the thoughts we exchanged as far as we both knew
Questions concerning our future were put out for both parties to see
Almost ready to announce to the world a new couple in the near future we intended to be.

A blank screen became my companion for several days in a row
Expected success in the game of love had apparently lost its everlasting glow
Reviewing my past overtures for any mistakes I had made
Just another notch on your belt for someone else who failed again to earn a passing grade.

Lady From The Country

In the country lives a Lady
Heart of gold has she
Likes to live life so simple
Surrounded by friends and family
Doesn't like life of drama
Believes in honest, open, direct
Even though heart of tomboy
Can dress and act like a Lady
Loves the outdoor, sports and reading
Flowers, walks and motorcycles
Go for car rides to nowhere
Only thing her heart is missing
Man to share the love she has
God has promised her a partner
Time will come with patient wait

His name is Adrian

His name is Adrian. A thoughtful young lad.
His name is Adrian. A boy who was never sad.
His voice so sweet, one of a kind.
His nature so humble, forever in my mind
He was smaller than me.
So naturally I thought him a baby.
Just a 13 year old boy, by God, he was taken away.
He made new people smile, each and every day.
He was the perfect child, in every single way.
Even whilst he was sick, he made it seem okay.
“God picks the best ones”, words that are so true.
So maybe that’s why, baby cousin, God has chosen you.
A tribute to the lovely boy whose star once brightly shone.
The memory of Adrian Supershad will forever and always live on.....

All I ever wanted

All I ever wanted was to
Be part of your heart
And for us to be together
And never apart
No one else in the world
Can ever compare
You are perfect
And so is the love we share
We have so much more
Than I ever thought we would
I love you more than I ever thought I could
I promise to give you all I have to give
I’ll do anything for you as long as I live
In your eyes I see our present, our future and past
By the way you look at me now, I know we will last
I hope that one day you will come to realize,
How perfect you are when looking through my eyes

Willow Tree

Strong as a willow tree, our friendship bending over time strong and sure
Gently caresses the tears away

Sunshine filters thru the branches above reminding us of the day

Lighting the way,

Oh my soul you soothed

Lifting it with the power of your belief

Stings of betrayal with talons felt

Forces beyond control

The wind lifted higher baring my soul

Oh how I miss the protective cover

The season tore us apart you traveled away for a time

Oh how I missed your presence

The laughter you brought to the day

But with such simple words forgiveness and love were shown

Tis true courage does come thru in those tiny steps redemption was made

There are some things that are stronger

Stronger than the world winds that blow

The strength of the willow bends with time and fluttered back our friendship

With each new wind that blew it became stronger testing the time

I welcome it so as it is

Tighter than blood we became, 2 souls we share

Time marches on but we stand firm, each taking our turn under the willow

Opening the light from the darkest despair

Holding the hand as the branches whip about

Raising the chin to the light, gently but firmly see it is there

Protecting us it has from cruel forces that blew

Rebuking us with gentle stings but always true

Shelter from the scorching heat of the world

Oh dear friend what would I have done had you not taken strong hold of my hand

Pulling me into the protection of the willow we shared

Thank you dear friend for always being there, for listening to my tears of sorrow, my tears of joy

Thank you dear friend for sharing the willow with me for being my friend in times of need,

We shared so much and there is so much yet to share, I miss you with all my heart until we are near.

Uplifting each other to the best that we can, listening and sharing without pains of judgment, no truer friend can be.

~~~ Just another phone call ~~~~
He called me up and I thought should I just
let it ring or should I pick it up as if I
really do care that he is calling me on the
other phone....
I told him the other night it was just fine
if he wanted to call me again. I would really
be there to answer my phone call if he wanted
to even call me....
Thinking real hard if I should answer the phone
and after the third ring or so I did answer the
call and when I did for a minute or two it was
nothing but much silence...
Then the tone went dead on the phone and I thought
that was ackward a bit should I ring back or not.
Sat there for a minute no call back so I dial the
number to get a recording....
That said to me why are you calling this number? It
has been disconnected and no new number is listed
for the call you are trying to make so look up the
right number and try your call again....
Well was it you I was trying to call?
Was it the other guy across America I was trying to call?
Was it the man in the other city?
Could it of been your father?
Maybe it was your brother?
Well as confused as you are to who I was
trying to call no wonder why the call did
not go through....
If I could only figure out if there was another
party on the call that was comming into me in the
first place then we could talk my friend, I "SEE"
it was You my friend ~~~~~~~
Thanks for calling....
Wendyloo
We sat side by side on the river bank so long ago, staring down as it flowed
Cement beneath our palms, wooden boards above our heads
a simple life then, no worries in our heads
Skippin school to have a few, bigger burger without a clue
Few trips round lil lake George mutchin on burgers n fries,
Window on that ole mustang rolled down lynard skynnard poundin loud
One Saturday night after a few we gathered round that cabin true
The deer peered at us all glassy eyed, wild kids blazin a country mile wide
Climbing thru the windows to have a peek, tore those ole jeans by the creek
The campfire got real blazin as you disappeared for the amazin
And a few trips round lil lake George mutchin on burgers n fries,
Window on that ole mustang rolled down lynard skynnard poundin loud
I held your hand when you told your folks, tho we left out the tokes
It was all in fun we thought till one of us ended up with something that just cant be bought
The country roads we found home brought us back to the one alone
I held your hand as you boarded that plane, off to a life with a different kind of fame
And a few trips round lil lake George mutchin on burgers n fries,
Window on that ole mustang rolled down lynard skynnard poundin loud
And a few trips round lil lake George, just two young girls fallin in love with llfe
Mutchin on burgers n fries, not ready to become a wife
Windows on that ole mustang rolled down, two babes to be found
Lynard skynnard poundin loud, lynard skkynnard poundin loud
And a few trips round lil lake George mutchin on burgers n fries,
Window on that ole mustang rolled down lynard skynnard poundin loud
Friends
I
The world is oft' a curious fit
For those for whom the trappings break
And many hearts have failed that spring,
That childlike spark that lights within
II
But there’s a refuge in between
The practiced waste and the fretting stone
Where Adam’s aim remained pristine
And Eden’s hope is there and seen
III
And in that pause of rare occurrence
I met the bards, the lyric’s crew
And with one voice, it came right through
“Welcome, welcome, we welcome you”
IV
And so in words, my thoughts affirm
A favoured spot in this Para-realm
For all the poets, my friends all true
God's Peace and Joy I commend to you
SHE WROTE THIS POEM (I HAVE DIMENTIA)
SHE WROTE THIS POEM (I HAVE DIMENTIA)
Often we meet new people and know
We just don’t know what to say
Sometimes you just want to rise up and go
But then the lord of dance wills you to stay
I always compare it to a dove seeking a mate
While landing with grace on the highest tower
The dove knows all about providence and fate
While the Lord of dance grants him a power
Suddenly where a dove roosted all alone
Because of the power he had been granted
Two doves agreed to face the unknown
Because seeds will grow if properly planted
Sitting by a fast food restaurant waiting
Watching people pass by and time as well
This is that which I am unequivocally stating
To some pretty lady I’m a pretty hard sell
So the dance continues or it fades away
No melody, no harmony and everything seems wrong
But oftentimes the Lord of dance has his say
And sometimes two start singing the very same song
