Dark Fringe

Embedded image from another site

Cast yourself away into the deep emptiness
Forever where the sun is blackened
Lunge your self into the walls you stand before
Reevaluate what it is that your living for
Do you swallow your tongue in your transgressions
From the discomfort of your own disappointments
The hollowness in your head echoing and dumb
The beating of a calloused heart begins to grow numb
Death prepares for a guest in a room with no view
As you dance with the devil underneath a pale moon
No anesthesia pulling teeth with rusty pliers make your fist clutch
Grateful for life but could we be happy with this much
Good and evil are not just separated by dead skin
Only to find your soul decaying in the womb of a dark fringe
Crouched over in a hall as you try to find your way out
Incandescent lights are the only hope that you have found
How is the journey as your own enemy? I hope all is well
Have your walls finally crumbled as the earth is cut with a shovel
Shivering and weakened sleeping in cold sweats
I wont throw you away you will always be my friend
There is a little black spot on the sun today
But I hope that it is warm enough that you will stay

GREETINGS

Greetings in the mighty name of the pen
It feels good to be writing again
I missed you all while I was away
I could not read your words each day
Now I am back without a bang
With you darlings, to hang

"Friend of mine"

I’m a wee bit mad at you.
Like how one feels when they can’t find their shoe.
You have the power to change the color of my mood to blue.
But I love you and it’s true.
You know how to grind my gears.
My friend, my lover in an illicit love affairs.
My partner in crime, the knight that vanquish my fears.
The gentle hand that wipe my tears.
The architect psychologist that structured my broke mind.
You’re a one of kind that is hard to find.
This dear “friend of mine.”

New Beginnings

Dating relationships start with an hello, how are you?,
original thought you think, not much to impress?,
with a little concentration I am sure you can try something new,
I have done it myself and wrote things you could find in a readers digest,

So here we are both see the pics and think ok?,
I look at yours and to myself say, could I honestly like to look at you each day,
Now it is time to pen the words, to make that opening, now what to say?,
thank heavens this site is free, imagine the costs one would have to pay,

Right now is the time to take that chance,
so carefully penned words to open up your mind,
can we kindle that spark of romance?,
everyone starts off being ever so kind,

Gentle words of opening and to create interest,
what do we have in common, apart from the fact you look good,
you also think how much time to invest,
trying hard to get the flow between us as one should,

So at last we have the contact and words flow,
We make mistakes and talk of the things that happened in the past,
I like the way when I read your words they sort of make me glow,
I inform you please, I like you as you are, obviously what went on did not last,

This is a new start for both of us to try,
we do not need to dwell on lost loves and other times,
so lets keep this pure and simple, there is no need to pry,
lets both of us keep to the truth of each other, no more lies,

As time goes one we get to know one another,
slowly time flies, and words flow back and too,
I even know about your sisters and one brother,
our words soon become intense, maybe its time to view,

Lets try Skype you say, so we can have a proper look,
not a problem for me, as who I am is what you see,
you breathe a sigh of relief as the camera reveals your the same as the picture she took,
so now we have our views now is time to see if things can really be.

About this poem:
Again another theme of looking at how we start to view potential partners. Keeping it simple and pure, nothing from past but just the present and the future to concentrate on is they way to be.

A Box of Chocolates

When we’re free and all alone
We’ve got plenty of time to think
About what to do as time goes on
If we stick with the same routine

Memories of our past sweet lovers
Bring big smiles to our hearts
While even glimpses of the bitter ones
Make us glad that we’re apart

Still, if our ties go deep enough
They can take some time to uproot
Cutting cords and moving along
Can feel more like pulling a tooth

We know that it’s beyond repair
The abscessed cavity can’t be filled
And yanking it out will stop the pain
But the hole it leaves just might kill

So our natural instinct is to save it
Instead of losing that bit of our self
And we try to postpone the inevitable
Knowing the loss might hurt like hell

Eventually though we have to let it go
When the dentist says it’s time to replace
And only then after we finally give in
Do the big smiles return to our face

In everything from teeth to love
We know there’s a chance we might lose
But risky consequences add spice to life
So we indulge in the candy we choose

While some like dark chocolate bitter
Others like it milky and sweet
And it’s easy to predict individual tastes
If we stick with the same routine

Rachel

RACHEL

I was sitting at the church while waiting for the mass to start….
Looked towards the right side, and your seat is next to mine
Kneeling, hands clenched together
Sensing how fervently you are praying
Soon as you’ve seated, I looked on your face
You looked familiar I thought to myself
And finally I recognize you….
Oh Rachel my best friend, it’s you!

You looked different from years before...
That pinkish cheek I used to admire,
Looks dry and freckled now
Your lovely, dreamy eyes look weary and wrinkled now
That curly hair I love to braid now looks dull and brittle
I can feel the callous on your hands as you touched me
Those candle-like fingers and long nails that I used to paint
Now looks rough and dry
Your fair skin that I love to touch now looks tan

Oh Rachel, my lovely best friend,
What has the world has done to you?
I can’t see that smile on your face as you had before
we loved to smile; we giggled to small things and even laughed very hard
why do u seem so sad now?
As I hugged you tightly, you began to cry
Shhhhh….I am here, ready to listen…
When we bade goodbye, I saw your smile once again
That lovely smile which tells me that no matter what you’ve become,
Still you are my Rachel, my best friend forever more…

Not My Type Of Woman

You go through life acting like you’re quite bad,
Telling these dudes you’re the one they wish they had,
Critiquing every girl who is nothing like you,
The recipient of that mouth, you don’t care who.
You only care about one thing and one thing alone,
That you’re the one sitting at that lil shiny throne.
And when consulted you claim that you’re grown.

Baby you’re not grown, but excuse me if you are,
There’s a little girl in that body,
Maybe you wished on a star?
A grown woman doesn’t say “me me me”
No darling she’s on that maturity.

When life finally hits you and I promise that it will,
You’re going to feel like the Devil’s hounds are on your heel,
You’re going to run to the first person that you see,
And they’re going to look at you like something a bit crazy,
Then they will ask “After how you did me?”
Then you will say something like “Hey that’s the past”
Lets Pause it there and let me lesson you on life right quick,
See the past reflects the future,
They’re in your past and you’re not their future.

Lets resume where we left off,

See somethings going to happen, you’re going to wish that it hadn’t
You’re going to blame others, knowing you’re the reason it happened
You’re going to look in the mirror, wondering the error,
You don’t see a thing, blind to whats in plain sight,
Coming back to that mirror Day and Night,
When your life evolves around “me me me”
You will never see in reality who you can really be.
