Valerja

learned from you friend

As I am awakened swiftly
From a deep and peaceful sleep
My heart is racing wildly
Like a million little feet.

The panic that I used to feel
Has turned to something new
A feeling of strength and power
That I have somehow learned from you.

You have empowered me
To take a look within
And find the love of a friend
Where fear had always been.

So, now I reach into the dark
And feel the ray of light
From the love a friend sends to me
Shinning bright into the night.

Not me

so young lady how do you plead
guilty or not guilty???
oh but your honour, not guilty"
NOT ME.

true" i was there on the night
but i was one in a crowd
it was others that done the kicking
as she fell to the ground..
THEM' NOT ME.

yes" they are my friends
but i am not guilty of their crime
yes" i heard her call for help
but it was to another she cried..
ANOTHER' NOT ME.

i dont know who she was
the stranger that ran to her aid
but i know who she wasnt
i lower my head in shame
ME' NOT ME.

Different Ways

Pictures speak out in many different ways to each one of us everyday. We can recapture our youth from an illustration that the artist's hands have embrassed on a canvas, or a single sheet of paper.
The beatiful strides from a painter's brush can reveal how he or she is feeling at that very moment, and what a truly God given gift this person has recieved.
To see such smiiles, frowns, and confusion of the many people passing by with some a short but distance look. The pose of an elderly woman starring so deeply into one of my pictures which was harsh but true, left her walking away with a small frown, yet it seems as though she'd understood.
Many children, teens, young and old kept a hunble smile upon their face most of the way through the first introduction to the unique but true paintings, I will say it brought many of them closer together, just maybe for a second or two, from the God given talent that was recieved and left many thinking in different ways.

IF I COULD SAY GOOD BYE I WOULD SAY GOOD BYE~~

IF I COULD SAY GOOD BYE~~~ I WOULD SAY GOOD BYE TO ALL~~~~~
Still I sit every night,
waiting for you to come by.
Hoping that you would stay
for a longer while.
I wait and wait,
As years go by,
But you would not come.
Sometimes, I just think,
you just moved out of town.
So I write you letters,
To tell you how I graduated,
How I lost weight,
Gow I still wear your jeans
Every year on my birthday.

Why?
I cannot understand.
Why did they snatch you away?
I will not forget the times...
I promise we will meet again,
But till then Goodbye my friend!

Sahara and friends

Esa, Iya , Buh and Bah.
The Sahara.
The stars.
Charred meat
Hot bread.

Esa... Esa with her open heart,
Iya... Translating and teaching.
I love tonight
The sharp wind.
The black widow,
Everything short and sweet so sweet.

Precious moments
In our busy lives.
Precious moments like tonight.
Iya makes very good tea
But he made only two cups not three.
He owes me one.

About this poem:
I lived with a group of Bedouin in the Sahara , I was learning french and arabic and all about how to survive the Sahara and about their beliefs. Being in the desert is awe inspiring , silent and empty yet full of a vibrant sort of presence that makes everything , every action,word or thought marked and at the same time irrelevant.

You're my everything

I've never even met you
But you really help me through
and so i want you to remember
I'm always here for you too

You always give me hope
You offer me this light
it brightens my every day
as it shines so bright

One day we will meet
it will open up a door
to a brand new world
And I will know you more

So thankyou for just being
and All the hope you bring
you're my life
you're my world
you're my everything

I love you

About this poem:
A friend of mine met a young lady about three years ago while she was on holiday in Cyprus. i, unfortunately never met her but when i first started talking to her on MSN we felt a mutual connection. ever since then we have stayed very close. i wrote this poem for her about a year after we'd first got to know each other, after i'd gone through a particularly tough time in my life and she was the only person there for me, and even at 3000+ miles away from me she always knew how to say the right thing... at that time i was sure i was in love with her, but that time has passed. i now see her as the sister i've never had, and do love her but in a completely different way. it's a feeling so intense and so comfortable that i cannot explain, i feeling i never knew existed.
her name is Beth.

~~~~A TRUE FRIEND FOREVER~~~~~~
A friend is someone who recognizes, and
someone you can trust.
They will listen to you both night and day without ever making a trouble.
A friend will stand by your side when you are right and sometimes when you are wrong.
They will hold you up when you are weak and offer support to make you strong.
A friend's love is unreserved and unique in every way.
And when you have difficulties a true friend will kneel down with you and pray.
A friend will stand by your side through thick and thin.
And whenever everyone has isolated you they still will be your friend.
A friend once said to me that a friend is sent from God above and I believe this to be true.
Because God has sent all of my poet friends to me and those friend to me are YOU.
A true friend is always there for me,
To catch me if we fall,
They never swear, lie or cuss,
But they will tell me to stand tall.
A friend teaches me to be modest,
because they know that sometimes we stumble.
A true friend will always be there,
and I know that they care
A true friend will always be true to heart,
and so many friends will never be apart.
Above all I know who you are,
and you all in poet corner will always
Be my shining star in poet corner~~~~~
~~~~ SMILES TO GO MILES ~~~~

Maxeen_1 I saw something in you when I came to poet corner today. I found it with in your smile and you will be able to suceed with much happiness that will come your way just wait and do not hurry~~~

You shine through your glory and had to look at your age a couple of times in your profile just could not believe you are the gal of such this age, saw so much beauty of your youth in your profile picture all the men would be glad to throw you a party of their love~~~

Keeping the youth to shine through all of your beauty will get you the many miles you have to get to there, do not let this to stop you from your miles of greatness to come your way through your smile I am sure you have much happiness as it shows through your beauty as you
show much happiness in your profile...

I hope to see much more of your of beauty through poet corner and through the many of your writes or the ones to come as we together walk as poet friends keep up the smile of youth as many more need to learn of your happiness to make happiness go for miles and miles...

best friend

True friend are for life,
Until the end of life
I believe they will always be there,
whenever I cry or laugh

They know all my secrets,
and understand my fears
They will always be there,
to turn my tears into a smile,

Yesterday I was your friend
today still I am your friend
if ever you need me
I will be right there for you

Because True friend are for life,
Until the end of life……
Whenever you cry or laugh,
I will be right for there.
