There are many people
that we meet in our lives
but only a very few
will make a lasting impression
on our minds and hearts
It is these people that we will
think of often
and who will always remain
important to us
as true friends....

Some folks say I am what I am.
I say I am but a man.
A way with words I have, so some say.
I but write what I feel and let come what may.
Words come to mind and these I do write.
They come when they come be it day or night.
As a candle in darkness my words were my light.
Since I found love that candle burns bright.
Now my words flow, as never they did.
I make them known now, where once I them hid.
Where my words come from I do not know.
Where ever it is I know where they go.
I know only that these words are mine.
For my words and my feelings, they intertwine.
I write poems sometimes about what I been through.
If you want your thoughts in rhyme I will do it for you.
I will write your poem and write how you please.
But give me advice leave the writing to me.
I always loved writing poetry and ever I will.
But as to how good I am I know not still.
I speak true and demean not myself.
I feel as a book that was left on the shelf.
And not been read for many a year.
But when it is read it brings a tear.
I hope when I write that I write well.
But sometimes it is hard for me to tell.
I need but they should take my hand.
If my words are not good I shall understand.
Speak the truth be it good or bad.
There is no chance I will be mad.
For the simple truth will I be glad.
If these things you would read, and would the truth tell me.
Come! Read my works and friends let us be.

a thick bush of course hair,
i rub you, old friend
lying on your back
you quiver,
reassuring me that i please you.
the moist natural liquid seeps through my fingers,
an unpleasant odour, some might say
but
to me, there has never been a more sensuous perfume
you truly are my best friend.
the intensity of the moment
permeates our souls....
fluid dripping from your mouth,
i thank you,
my ever present companion,
your loyalty moves me
a true mans best friend
rover, you are the king of canines.

BREAKFAST AIN’T EGGS BENEDICT FOR SURE
You can arise whenever you choose to
And that’s why I’m so jealous of you
You can eat whatever you pick out
As for my breakfast there ain’t no doubt
I know precisely what will be on my metal tray
Except sometimes it’s milk or water to start off my day
Your pantry is full of food I don’t even recall
As I use an old filthy tee shirt to keep me warm as a shawl
Your lunchtime might be at that little tavern we know
But now my lunchtime is delivered row by row
That tavern was cozy and meant a lot to me
And so did my being free
But powder and pain brought me here
And here I’ll stay year after year
I receive opened and censored letters in my mail
The missives people send me here in jail

IT'S A POEM

LOOK ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO CLAIM TO BE A POET I AM HERE TO TELL YOU WHAT REAL POETRY IS--REAL POETRY IS THE SOUL OF A LADY THAT CAN MAKE A WEARY MAN DO WHAT HE MUST---REAL POETRY IS A LADY WHO CAN MAKE ME SMILE DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT HURTS ME PHYSICALLY TO DO SO---POETRY IS THIS LADY'S LAUGHTER----BUT MOST OF ALL POETRY IS THE SUNDAY SHE WAS BORN IN A SILENT WARD WHEN HER PARENTS SHOULD HAVE NAMED HER "JOY" BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT SHE IS TO ME AND TO ANY OF YOU WHO DEEM YOURSELVES POETS, SHE IS POETRY---"JOY" I KNOW YOU DESERVE SO MUCH MORE THAN THIS MEAGER OFFERING BUT MY WORDS ARE ALL I HAVE TO GIFT YOU WITH, OH AND A BOTTLE OF RAGGAE CHAMPAGNE BECAUSE YOU INTOXICATE ME SIMPLY BY BEING YOU-------
SHE IS STRONG AND I AM ALWAYS WRONG
How much can you forgive?
Can you forgive the way I live?
Can you overlook the multitude of mistakes I make?
And can you teach me to give more than I take?
I heard all about the horrors of your past
With a deep love until death made it one that wasn’t meant to last
For he left you when he was far too young
Which dashed all the dreams to which you both clung
You lost your soul mate and that makes me weep
And it seems the seeds you sow create sorrow no one wants to reap
As I imagine people say “that’s awful, but life must go on”
But they don’t know a life that has been bitter since he’s been gone
And so you seek and so you roam
And so you do what you must and then come home
Where you curse the silence of the living room where you and he would speak
As the lack of his lilting voice now hushed must leave you weak
I know were I you I’d probably pray to die
And need you beg to ask me why?
Your soul mate left and took with him your holy soul
And I can envision your heart that bears a canyon deep hole
An emptiness that may never be filled
And loneliness that sadly may forever be willed
Oh wouldst that I could fill that darkened hole
And urge whispers of wonder wouldst be my goal
I’d like nothing more than to share time of smiles with you
but we both know that scream and cry is what you’d rather do
and I’d also like nothing more than to grant you glee
so again I ask you, how much can you forgive of me?

We all do it.
preach to others, tell them what to do.
Or should be doing.
After all what are friends for.
Do we do as we say?
Opinionated words can be as worst,
As any other plague.
Be careful,
speak helpful,
Sweet words in case you have to eat them!

My best friend
lay out in the sun
in it's warmth and brightness
of a beautiful spring day
He lay in the quietness of the soft grass surrounding him
as time sneaks away
i watch him from the window
as a peacefulness and calm comes over me
a nice moment of harmony
As i noticed his belly paused
no rise or fall
a gun shot in my head goes off
i run to his side, to my knees i fall
gentaly rubbing my hand though his soft black fur
as i have done so many times before
but his spirit is all ready gone
i hold him as tears fall
i am a man and not a weak one
but losing my friend makes me come undone
so much loss creating an emptiness a blackhole
he never said any words but always so full of jesters of love
i will remember him always he was more than just a dog
Goodbye my friend see you in the next world

It’s good to have friends
Friends who care,
Friends who you know
Will always be there
When you need them,
And never complain,
When you tell the same story
Again and again.
I’ve said it before
And I’ll say it again
Have a very Merry Christmas

Walking stick,
Beat up blue,
Hand in hand,
Me and you.
On the window,
On the chair,
Raindrops falling,
In my hair.
Broken whisper,
Inside out,
Upside down,
Then we shout.
Under water,
In the sea,
In the rain,
You and me.
Braided hair,
Shave your cheek
Another year,
Another week.
Christmas trees
Old and grey,
Gone tomorrow
Here today.
Sunlight, starlight,
Around once more,
In the bathroom,
on the floor.
Morning, evening,
Afternoon,
Wishing well,
Come home soon.
