in the shower

standing there with the water
spraying down hot in winter
cooler in the heat of August
just standing there cascading

my mind flowing metaphorically
washing away the tensions that
stick to your body throughout
long days of demands and needs

little globules of tension ringing
the drain circling as nearing
the black hole of plumbing fixtures
vanishing forever, to another dimension

head down, looking past my body
to the rest I so long for, I stand
for a long time, flows of nothingness
washing over me, emptying my mind

I can imagine the water oozing
into the crevices of my brain
seeping through all my thoughts
cleansing my emotions too

little wonder that we arose from
oceans primordial to stand
the land and wander life on toe
yet always return to the washes

the whole world presses it's foot
gently on the pedal and begins to
slow down to thoughts of breathing,
and feeling, and caring, and loving

Bentlee

another log on the fire

Airborne embers take flight
Wire screen back in place
Book pulled from the shelf
Foot-rest in place
Wing back chair comfort right.

Sketched orange flame echoes
Round brandy glass in reach
On the night air rides hoot
Of an owl an howling wolf.

Rocks break the water of the creek in the back
Moon takes a rest on the flat of the lake
Sip of brandy
Turn a page
Peaceful warmth
All's in place~

Kleenex Klues

Another box of Kleenex;
another silly poem;
sneezing coming easy;
home alone.

Like an empty liquor bottle
tossed on the side of the road,
no one wants you
when you have a cold.

Like an uneven sidewalk
challenging your every step;
my only friend right now
is a box of Kleenex.

The best feeling comes
when you realize that
you’re perfectly happy
without the people
you thought
you needed most.

DEPRESSION

I don't claim to be an authority on the definitive nature of depression
even though my entire adult life it's been a cumbersome possession
Many in our society are still ignorant enough to ridicule the validity
their cognizance needless to say is unquestionably void of lucidity

Because of personal experience these symptoms I can honestly convey
"Peace of Mind" you wish for each day gets overthrown by dismay
How and what you see and feel is no longer symbolic of the before
the ZEST you once had your disposition won't allow you to restore

Zoloft everyday before breakfast is an aperitif I despise but MUST take
failing to medicate worsens depression putting your mental health at stake
Anti-Depressant's are poison but suicide certainly skyrockets without them
"Brain Fog" is guaranteed and conducive to needed focus remaining dim

This disheartening affliction does literally Zap motivation to leave home
I know with 'severe depression' you can't stop suicidal thoughts that roam
The Band-Aid of Drugs is their only true inspiration not producing a cure
during this life depression to some degree every human is bound to endure

Clearly no amount of fame or fortune saves one from unfathomable inner grief
when Misery reaches unbearable death is increasingly the option for relief
Humans consistently create new technology but nothing to eradicate disease
after defeating 'Polio' they put any serious thought of future cures on freeze

Shouldering the weight of depression all my life has been rough
battling such agony will leave you spent no matter how tough

Nurse

NURSE
NURSE, NURSE
I was the little girl,
he was the little boy.

She did not mean to fall
but all she did not much
but a bump and a scrape or two.

He tried to not, but sure he did
he tumbled down the hill in still of
himself he hit his leg to the ground
in so he scraped it up and then.......

she/ he needed the nurse, she put a bangdage'
if that did not work then the wrap had to do.
The nurse is tender but helps to mend the weak and
the ill.... That is why they are called the nurse.

chilled...

Under the casuarina tree
where the sand meets the sea
and the gulls drift in the breeze
as they live a life of ease
where the whitecaps show the way
of the wind having it's say
and different colours allow the sea
to show the depths there may be
and the clouds march along
the horizon big and strong
where the warmth of your touch
relaxes me so much
i feel the coils unwind
as i leave the week behind
and drift into that place
where time has no grace
amidst my thoughts and dreams
i am relaxed and so it seems.......

The good things of life...

A regal sunset or a surreal moonrise,
The cry of an exotic bird from the Amazon,
The thrilling energy of a carnivore disembowelling its prey,
The smell of ozone in the air after a thunderstorm,
A cup of strong organic coffee shared with a close friend,
Johnny Walker, Black Label,
The touch of a baby, reaching out to its brand new world,
The soft look your beloved gives you just for the hell of it,
The explosive combo of flavors of a coconut-sprinkled, sizzling-hot curry,
Mail in your CS inbox[provided its not from a damn scammer...],
A funny episode of ‘King of Queens’,
A sleek young horse in its prime,
The dew on a new-born flower,
The proud breast of a fair young maiden,
A five-point lobster in a five-star hotel,
We could endlessly go on, couldn’t we?
Why don’t you post some of your own ‘good things of life’?
Vaya con Dios...

" Running "

Oh to run and jump,
but not to fall.

To seek and find,
it is all good.

Just being able to run
and run and run is fun.

Jogging to run and run to
jog. To skip the walk it is,
all about the race.

We are running hurry to seek
and if you are lucky you might
~~ find me running ~~

Bye for a While

I wish I had seen it.

My place is so temporary.

There is a time for speech there is time for silence.

My words there troubled and confused to some of you.

Know what must be done living in a heartless unconnected

physical community is a challenge for sure.

Loosing all good family.

Oh living in Redneck central is such a B*###**

Wishing You were here. PF

Such an evil ploy
a grasping toy
How shallow
do i scan

which one shall I cast
my feather of my fan

shouting words
I
albeit turn to walk away

but always knowing
do words
crest the land

it is so dum
really
yet words fall

O some times
I think
Me! to have that wonder
To have those great arms

to grasp me within his thunder
