UNWANTED CONSTRUCTION

I answered the door and found that melody of the past
It disguised itself well this time
Didn’t seem familiar through the peephole
And was wearing a different shade of skin

It spoke to me in many tongues before
Sometimes using a thick accent
Or emitting a new scent
Hiding behind this mask or that

And each time I was fooled
Not paying close attention to its tempo
But eventually recognizing it
As my walls continue to grow

Anxious? Who?

I am the obsessive
And I am the compulsive
I sit on your shoulder
And hurl abuse

Everything you do
Over and over I question
Til you no longer
Believe in yourself

I will shake you and break you
Until you’re a gibbering wreck
Throw in a dash of paranoia
Finally my work is done

LIVING IT UP

If I am the ‘me’
that decides what I see
and thus am an ‘I’ not a ‘we’
why do I hear so many ‘I’s
proclaiming themselves to be ‘we’?

i.e.,
“we are all equal
we must be free
we should be saving
the world…”

I don’t recall
my consent to agree
that the ‘I’ known as ‘me’
be sandwiched between
their ‘I’ and my ‘me’

The ‘me’ that I own
is my own by decree
As my true wannabee
I inhabit quite free
my own nutty tree!

"THE SEVERITY OF THE WOUND"

The glare of the silver and shimmering blade
Cuts so deep, when there is twisted rage
The blank canvas, the skin of life
Ripped and slashed under the flourescent light

Dreams and screams of a distant song
When will it be over,it has taken so long
The discovery of an aching twitch
Paralyzing pain of several a stitch

Not knowing of any encounter
Of the living nor the dead
A soft cozy billowy pillow to rest your head
There is faint sounds of voices low
Above, the bright lights aglow

You are in a state of transition
Pushing your own body out of remission
Tailored cuffs of cotton and string
Hold you down,like a nightmare,against a dream

In your mind, you can hardly remember
Tranquility is all you can sember
Restlessly,your thoughts are racing
Unknowingly the gas you are tasting

Suddenly you are gently awakened
Strangers, but not foes are at your bedside
Softly whispering to bring you to
Wake up,They say it is all over, you did good

Everything is going to be alright
The severity of the wound is not of plight
You will soon retrieve your health
We wish you a speedy recovery, and plenty of stealth.......

When.............

I never knew how lucky I have been
The beauty of this world I have seen
I’ve taken it for granted for so long
Now is the time to be strong
Time is revealing itself to me
My body is getting older I can see
And with it comes the aches and pain
Soldiering on in nature’s rain
So why do I feel so undone
Everyday used to be fun
Now I am not so sure
Tentative to walk out the door
It’s only my sight that’s giving way
A doctors trip to have his say
Will soon reveal what lays ahead
And maybe soothe my thoughts instead
This is not the first time I’ve been compromised
A lifetimes of injuries lay with my sighs
But I have always managed to overcome
Rise above not be out done
Somehow this feels so much more
My vision oh how I adore ........

something worth forgetting

I came upon a mental block,
A path in my mind where I could not walk,
The way was shut and I was stopped,
I peered and pried,
I couldn't get in ,
I tried
But every time,
I was denied,
I couldn't see what was inside,
I was put out and I pouted,
"I'd get in there if I could."
The voice in my head said,
"It's for your own good..."

3AM

Wide awake it's 3 AM
insomnia, can't sleep again
movies playing, theater of mind
times long past, another life
haunted by so many memories
inside recalling ancient history
what was said, what I did
people and pets since I was a kid
brief and long lived interactions
who, what, why, and how they happened
things that shaped me when I was young
every picture framed and hung
sights, sounds, scents, stored sacrosanct
black and white or colored paints
wide awake, the stories speaking
Keeping me from resting, sleeping...

Madness

Collective thoughts in my mind,
wondering about this future life,
appreciating the laughter in others I find,
do I really need another wife,

Thinking out loud and saying my piece,
restless at times and feeling so alone,
time ticking along lifes walking feet,
persevering like a dog gnawing a bone,

A meandering mind jumping here and there,
nothing solid to hold the ground,
wondering if anything is really fair,
always listening to that empty sound,

your minds wheels always turning,
even when trying to fall asleep,
synaptic nerves forever churning,
looking for meaning and something deep,

Rational thoughts seem to disappear,
traversing through your own life span,
recollections of all the things you fear,
what to do and if I can,

Eventually the madness settles the mood,
its why someone close can be your friend,
looking for that piece of the puzzle in lifes food,
having that person will help you to mend.

About this poem:
Sometimes when things in life seem to be so over-bearing our minds become a wandering mess of thoughts, we stop eating and reflect on negatives and it takes time to mend, not all can cope with lifes pains and stresses and some drop deeper into the madness of the mind.

body body body

those curves
those edges
those sharp and sexy eyes

come on over here
you man of men
your touch might make me die

i love to dance
i love to move
i love to laugh and cry

come on over here
you man of men
and be with me tonight

Covid Shot

Got my shot yesterday at 9:30 in the morning
Was alright till last night
When I kept waking up
Over and over again
Now my knee hurts
I'm tired
My head hurts a lot
But hopefully I can get over these symptoms by Monday
Then on June 10 I can get rid of the mask at work
