PROMISE OF SPRING

Embedded image from another site

The promise of spring is in the air
Sights and sounds tantalizing nose and ear
Crocuses bravely breaking forth from the ground
Centers of gold – looking like little purple crowns

Gentle rain with a misty fog on the pond
Bringing mystical creatures with loud sounds
Little tiny beings gathering together to sing
Tantalizing us with the promise of spring

Snow melting slowly into the ground and streams
Provoking even more wishful spring dreams
Temperatures dipping way up and way down
Helping to keep hopes and dreams abound

Early Snowdrops have blossomed and gone
While spring flowers still sleeping underground
New bright green peeking up here and there
Fueling the feeling of spring in the air

Lenten season will be soon gone
Then the promise of Easter morning dawn
Celebrating our Risen Savior resurrected and alive
And the blessing of Spring and warm sunshine

Mirror

You hang there on the wall
casting reflecting images
as people move about
capturing briefly faces

How many have you seen?
what secrets could you tell?
mysterious, you keep them
forever held within your glass

Young and old also in between
they have all gazed into you
each with their own hopes,
dreams and aspirations

You hold all of these within
an odd glimpse sometimes seen
when deep into you a gaze lingers
catching a brief glimpse of ?

love's life span

Shame faced
Heart beating
Quick paced
Love of once upon a time
A simple hope, that you could be mine
Tear stained
Love torn
Heart pained
Love left without the chance
You disappeared without a second glance!
Feelings numb
Losing the one
Love has been shred
And now love has been replaced
With fear and dread

the darkend room

O sit and drewll
The darkend room
The banging the echos of noise
The deafening sounds

Consumes ones ears
Echos and vibrates
The room darkens
The stench of

Cold consumes
The bare flakes off the wall the decay
One is lost the sole is consumed

bovril time

My cup is full
With my hot black liquid gold
I smell the nice aroma of my tasty treat
Sipping my drink on this cold night

I gently sip my black gold
Hot and warming a hint of pepper for more taste
I slowly saver my liquid gold warming my taste buds they dance and sing

As the liquid hits my belly warming and comforting
Dispersing my chilled body with its warming liquid
The flavour so rich
I feel warm and comforted

I sip more of my preciuos black gold savouring my bovril not to me shared
For it is my presiuos my black bovril of rich liquid gold

This song for you

May you stay free
May your days be sunny days
May all your nights shine with moon and stars
To light your ways
May your dreams all come true
And remember I sing this song for you

May you grow strong
May you help your fellow man
May you be kind
May you always try to understand
May your skies all be blue
And remember I sing this song for you

May your strive to give only your best
May you find peace and love and happiness
May you sorrow be free
And all you life remember
This song for you
This song for you

May your heart learn to fly
May god speed wherever you go
And when you reach journey's end
May every road lead you home again
Whatever you do
All you life remember
I sing this song for you

Four New States

I have been trying to add states that I haven't been to yet
This year I got in Nevada and North Carolina back in February
I just got back two days ago visiting Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas
I stayed overnight in Texas two nights, and Oklahoma one night
Other states I went through before were Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas
Missouri, and Iowa
I went to Galveston to see the Gulf of Mexico
I went to San Antonio to see the Alamo
I didn't really have any other places to see other that say I was in those states
Three hours to get through Louisiana and basically drove through Oklahoma
In Kansas I went to Chuck E Cheese which still had a band
So did Des Moines, Iowa(which was in better shape)
I went to Buc-ee's, a store with a good pork barbeque sandwich
I drove golf balls in Texas at a driving range where the balls pop out
I ate a good steak in Texas at Chili's
I drove about 2,900 miles and was happy

Harem of one

Love is a harem

fragrance and spices

bathe in her beauty

caress in her moonlight

sumptous kisses

as nectar to taste

sweet as the honey

sumptous kisses

in a harem of one

The Tale of the Old Man (Part I)

Hey old man sitting there
So lost in thoughts of years gone by
Tell me now of things you've seen
And deeds that you have done

Smiling gently the old man nods
And scratches whiskery chin
A heavy sigh, where to begin
The tale of things that he has seen

When I was your age son, he said
The world was so much different
Every day the things you use
Back in my day not existed

I was born in my father's house
My mother died while birthing
By light of candle I first surveyed
This world that I arrived in

This place called home so far away
From town or nearest neighbour
A dusty track wound past our place
This road so barely travelled

One winter's night so wet and drear
The doctor could not travel
My sister's life was lost that night
Her death could've been prevented

How I missed her sweet smiling face
And her arms that gave me comfort
Fifteen was by far too young
To go and meet her maker

My father cold at best of times
Became so much more distant
He'd sit at night by candle light
And read naught but the Bible

When time came for school to go
I'd walk for many hours
One room that housed us all
One teacher for all the classes

A brutal man that beat us quick
Should we stray the slightest
Lessons learned the hard way
The beatings were quite frequent

After school when home I'd get
So weary from all the walking
So many chores awaited me
Would be dark before I finished

I was barely twelve when father died
In his sleep he passed away
Rest his soul dear God I prayed
With mum and sis is he

I left my home, was nothing here
No ties to bind me down
No memory of love and warmth
Not since my sister died

On my back a bag I carried
Was all I owned within
Not much to show for my short life
Two shirts and a cardigan

I aimed my sights for Sydney Town
It would take me many weeks
Blisters on my weary feet
And holes in soles worn thin

Here and there for a day or two
Some work I would find
Those were times when I would eat
My hunger then appeased

Most nights I'd sleep under stars
Came rain or clear night sky
Sometimes when my luck was in
I'd find a warm dry barn

The closer I came to Sydney Town
The sights that met my eyes
Buildings tall and stately stood
And people everywhere

Never before had I seen such sights
These buildings reached for sky
And a thing they called electricity
To make the lights burn bright

The flick of a switch would turn a room
From night time into day
And streets were lit by lights so bright
They almost hurt the eyes

Hard I looked for work to find
And many days I starved
Often there on lonely nights
No comfort to be found

Finally my luck it changed
Employment I did find
Washing floors and toilets too
In a pub at Ultimo

Saturdays they were the worst
With vomit on the walls
The smell so bad you'd want to puke
But still you'd do the job

Quicksand

My world has no color like a black and white photo

Birds songs have been muted

And the waves of the ocean lay motionless

Each step I take is harder than the previous

Each breath I take lifts my lungs and pushes aginst the empty chamber where my heart used to lay rest

Is there someone out there to change all of this

Or is my life nothing but quicksand

Swallowing everything beautiful around me

Taking away the things that used to make me smile

Is it such an incumbersum force that color, music, hope, and love cannot escape its grasp

Am I sucked it too far past my knees

Am I trying to hard to find you that in my fight I sink deeper

I can't let my mind free for my mind is impriosoning my body

I need someone before in over my head

Before my last breath is nothing more than a relfex

Not an effort to survive, rather an instinct of human nature

Bring me away for the trecherous egulfing clutches of lonliness

Be the color and beauty of my painting.

Be the notes on my score of music

Bring a smile back to this sadden face

Be my light, my love, my saving grace.
