Poet To Poet 8/12/14

Love
is a knife
held
to our throat … /
love
is a dog from hell … /
love
is one
single bullet
in the chamber
of a gun, and the other
chambers
filled with ice. /

(pause)

Autobiographical
The lover in these poems
is me;
Love.

He appears
as lover
analyst & muse,
as father, son
& maybe even God
& surely death.

All this is true.

The man you turn to
in the dark
is many men.

This is an open secret
women share
& yet agree to hide
as if
they might then
hide it from themselves.

I will not hide.
I write in the nude.
I name names.
I am I.

(pause)

When in doubt,
go deep inside of
yourself for the answer.
<
You might be able to
influence the outcome of
an uncertain situation by
entering it with joy in your heart.

And I'll try to wrap philosophy
and poetry around me
to stop the chill … and to bring back
the sweet, calm warmth
I so desire … and need

(One thing
existence
has taught me
is to truly
and honestly
believe
in patience … believe
in the passing of time, for the passing of time
cures
everything … ---yes; one way or another, the passing of time
will mend
any
situation.)

Be slow, sweet poet, in your day /
find the peace
that does exist
inside you / find
the tranquility /
find
what is calm … and what will calm you
inside /
If it helps, imagine my arms around you,
and my voice
whispering softly
into your ear … touching gently … beyond friends … beyond
even lovers … poets
holding each other
in the harsh, winter evening
of existence.

At The Cross

For it seems such a simple thing
to break bread as you have done
numerous times before.
Does everyone looking on know
what it means.
For God sent His son.
He died on the cross so we may be free.
Then we can live with God in eternity.
When we become a christian we are
part of God's family.
God will welcome us home in heaven
above where we will spend eternity.
How great that day will be.

WITHOUT YOU

Life without you is like....
DANCING TO A COLOURFUL PAINTING ON THE WALL

Like...
SINGING TO SOUL STIRRING COLD WIND

Like...
DANCING TO A BRIGHT BEAM OF LIGHT

Life without you truely is...

EMPTY!

Beautiful Country

Beautiful country, thy lines so sublime
Horizons gently appear as fields unfold
yielding plentiful plantations of life's golden crops
The patterns of farmland lay a carpet of evolving colours
spreading away from the hills and forests
in a fanciful pattern of provincial tapestry

I love thee dear countryside of my childhood
you gave me memories to cherish
and a lasting love of our beautiful
British Isles

Departure

Although this land is not my own,
I will remember its inland sea
and the waters that are so cold
the sand as white
as old bones, the pine trees
strangely red where the sun comes down.

I cannot say if it is our love,
or the day, that is ending.

NEW YEAR WISHES

DID 2019 end on a sad or happy note
All depends on your own life's luck

Did she play happy with your year?
Or played you down,
Or a mixture of both

Have you made promises to yourself?
for the new year ahead?
Or leaving it to destiny
or is it something you dread?

Life is like many doors,
or pages in a book,
all to be opened one by one
for the adventures to explore.

Lucky we are not hungry
Or live in a war torn country.

Lucky here at cs too.
To be able to speak our thoughts
All in poetry

I wish you all good luck
in this new year
and lots of hugs
from your own

Some Stormy Day

Rain pouring from the sky its waters down
River washing away the sodden earth brown
Sunlight peeking out under heavy black clouds
Casting the great colors of a dripping rainbow
Fog lifting over flowers of a mountain meadow
Above the excited songs of many singing sparrows
Sunset swirling pink against clouds broken gray
Time makes its narrow passage though a stormy day

Lonely Nights....Desires....

I feel so weak
Devoid of all energy
i miss you...

You are the dream that every woman
wants to see..

Romantic hugs and naughty tugs,
cute cuddles and long kisses
i miss everything..

memories, a touch of your hand,
make me ache with desire.
I miss the times when you were here
telling me to have no fear..

I feel so weak
Devoid of all energy
i miss you...

A Tribute To Trees

Trees are sanctuaries
Whoever knows how to speak to them
whoever knows how to listen to them
can learn the truth
They do not preach learning and precepts
they preach
undeterred by particulars
the ancient law of life

When we are stricken
and cannot bear our lives any longer
then a tree has something to say to us:
Be Still! Be Still!
Look at me!
Life is not easy
Life is not difficult
Those are childish thoughts
Let God speak within you
and your thoughts will grow silent
You are anxious because your path
leads away from mother and home
But every step
and every day
lead you back again to the mother
Home is neither here nor there
Home is within you
or home is nowhere at all

About this poem:
I have read a lot of poems recently, on Poetry Corner, dealing mainly with hurt, pain and suffering, experienced by heartbreak, loneliness and other painful incidents.
You can find solace in Nature to ease your pain.
I posted a piece earlier on Birdsong.
This piece is on Trees; I hope you can feel its comforting effect as you read it, or better still, go outdoors, listen to the trees, and experience them directly. Be a tree hugger!
I came across this,on the net, as a quote from Herman Hesse
and reformatted it for posting.
