Traveller

Fearless artist from beyond
I want to die
No longer in this darkness I want to lie.
Stir a ripple with your hand
Rinse your drawing from your sand.

Decorate the canvas with your soft strokes
They are sleeping
Can’t you hear that some are weeping?
Softly rock them to and fro
Will you believe they are scared to go?

Stab me more, those big bright eyes
Ego it’s your time to rest
Let it go, you have done your best.
From his castle the giant stirred
Inside each living thing, it could be heard

Time has come for us to travel
It is nigh
It will stop if we don’t fly
Will the old man re awaken?
And all clinging thoughts be shaken?

You can come and you can stay
What is your desire?
Let them put the witches in their fire
Off we fly to another land
Draw more pictures in the sand

Timeless traveller at my door
What is it you have come here for?

Evening.

Come my Love
Be beside me,
Evening comes
Love awaits.
Evening smiles
Moon is shining,
Love comes forth
In Its majesty.

Evening breeze
Softly calling,
Lips do meet
Glory is there.
Be before me
Bodies pressing,
The breeze stirs
Long auburn hair.

Come my Love
Passion stirring.
Oh such joy
Desire shall flow.
Love will flow quickly
In the moonlight,
Love does meet
Passion's evening.

Ship Of Dreams.

Come with me my beloved,
To a world which Is not as It seems.
We shall sail upon our timeless sea,
On the wondrous ship of dreams.
Love's serenade playing,
Our hearts beat In tune.
Love's light It Is dancing,
As we stand 'neath the silver moon.
Come Into my arms,
It Is time for us to dance.
Love's dream before us,
Let us take our chance.
Let us stay together,
Throughout our Love-filled scenes.
My beloved please sail with me,
Upon the wondrous ship of dreams.

Dead Poets Never Die

The skin of the sea
has nothing to tell me

I see her diving down
into herself,
past the bell-shaped
jelly fish who
toll for no one

& meaning to come back
In London, in the damp
of a London morning,
I see her sitting
folding & unfolding herself,
while blood
hammers like rain
on her heart's window.

This is her own country-
the sea, the rain,
& death half-rhyming
with her father's name.

Obscene monosyllable,
it lingers for a while
on the roof
of the mouth's house.

I stand here
savoring the sound,
like salt.

They thought your death
was your last poem,
a black book,
with gold-tooled cover
& pages the color of ash.

But I thought different
knowing now madness
doesn't believe
in metaphors.

When you begin to feel
the drift of continents
beneath your small poetic feet,
the sea's suck in each
atom of poisoned air,
you lost the luxury of simile.

Gulls call, broken shells,
the quarried coast

This is where America ends
dropping off
to the depths.

Death comes
differently in California
Marilyn stalled
in celluloid,
the fame stuck
& the light
burning through

Bronze to her platinum
Ondine, Ariel,
finally no one.

What could we tell you
after you dove down into
yourself
& were swallowed by your poems?

Bad Day

Embedded image from another site

I had a bad day
maybe it's not
about having a beautiful day
but finding a beautiful moment.

Maybe a whole day
is too much to ask
in all things, no matter
how dark or ugly.

We can find
shades of beauty
if we look for them
like the sound of her voice.

When I have a crazy day
she makes me smile
when the day kicks my butt
she forces me to laugh.

Love is a good thing
on a bad day
when you have your baby
to chase the demons away..

Connecting singles poets

Not long ago
I felt so all alone
I had no where to go
I would just wonder and roam
I came on here and read some poems
I then knew I wasn't alone
I read many of a poem
Some of them hit home
Some made me moan
But after reading all your poems
I felt like I found my home
There are many stores to be told
All in the form of a poem
This is now my second home
I've made several wonderful friends
I cherrish each and everyone of you
Everyday through
So I just want to send a big thank you
I'm not afraid to tell you I care
I'm sure each and everyone of you know
Just how dear you are
For each and everyone of you poets
Are like a fine piece of art
And all hold
a special place
In my heart!

Mental health shop visit.

I was advised to visit your shop
All things are not too happy up top

You may need some introspection
To prompt you back in the right direction

I hope you suggest a road toward
The Man, who cuts your family with his sword

On our path so many have gone
On all our roads the sun has shone

The brochure is in tatters friend, all these places I have seen
To all these taverns I have been

Your safety is our big concern
For happy travelers who will return

I am more for an adventure...

At least you should fit a garment sir, more like these the people wear
Lets at least cover that a bit...

...I will all your garments split !

Dawn's Shadows

Dawn tugs playfully pulling down nights blanket.
A single rising belly takes shape upon the mat, then another, another.
Impossibly thin arms, legs, taunt leather faces ... emerge.
Teeth, curly hair, pinned beneath mountainous bellies.

One bone thin arm hinged to bone splayed fingers lifts,
Reaching in dawns glow, casting ...
Serpent shadows, slither upon the wall.
Slow moving serpents of the dawn, here linger.

Eyes of starvation stare out.
Eyes of yesterdays desperation focus.
Eyes laying, blinking in the dust, watch, lost.
Eyes that have seen such sights now...

She has been forgotten, now she forgets.
Becomes the small child she is, was born to be.
Casting shadow animals upon an empty wall.
These serpents are all she knows.

Sunlight in its failing pulls up nights blanket.
A single un-moving belly fades upon the mat, then another, another.
Impossibly thin arms, legs, taunt leather faces, fade, disappear.
Eyes that have seen such sights, are ... forgotten

Victory

Victory is tremendous,victory is sweet,
it brings optimism and confidence to anyone you meet.
The feel good factor is wonderful to enjoy,
it's positive for all ages,
be you Granddad, Girl or Boy.
Winning is what it's all about,
the icing on the cake,
being so calm and patient with every move you make.
A pressurised tactical battle or a slow positional grind,
driven on by self-belief, it's victory in the mind.
Taking part is well worth while,
encouraging and appealing,
but promote that pawn or set that trap,
and the result can be revealing.
Satisfying and rewarding so take a well earned bow,
forget the losses of the past;
the time to celebrate is now!

'Mommy daddy wrote us a poem!'

Little Sara ran into the house with
her freckles and a letter
'Mommy, it's a poem from daddy!'
Mommy wipes her hands on her apron
and turns the heat down on the stove
'O dear! Sara flys into mommys arms
and mommy sits Sara on her lap and
says,'Lets read it together darling.'

To Sara and mommy,
To my two special ladies..
Sara, I miss you so much but this
war keeps dragging on. Daddy will be
home some day to hold you in his arms.
You are like sweet candy canes hanging
on my heart and the angel of my joy.
Mommy, the dreams of your kiss and love
is the strength of my heart and hope and
you are the apple of my eye. Daddy won't
be long before he is with his precious girls.
Daddy won't be long.
I miss you ladies so much.
I love you!
Daddy
Sara just sat and hugged mommy for the longest
time. Through all the tears rocking away in that
chair a cab pulls up in the pouring rain.
A knock on the door.
A man in uniform.
A big wide smile.
It's daddy!
