Weihnacht in Berlin

Mein Gott! Soviel Lustigkeit und soviel Schnee!
Weihnacht in Berlin! Ein unendliches Maerchen
und ich habe geglaubt, das Du mir ein Zeichen gibst:
fuer Liebe, Hoffnung, Glaube an dein Paradies.

Mein Herz ist dort bei Dir, Berlin geblieben,
und das Schmerz nach Dir geblieben - untroestlih.
unter Millionen - wie verlorener Sohn
ich laufe fort und komme wieder jeden Winter.

deities

god of the letter box,
god of the gate,
god of the path,
god of the garden,
god of the barking dog..
always kind and modest,
enduring coldness and heat,
you,outside world's deities,
knowing the secret of seasons,
you,joyfully welcoming
the well disposed visitor..
be praised for protecting my home.
god of the bell,
god of the open door,
god of the closed door,
god of the little waiting,
god of the invitation to enter..
intermediary deities,
masters of the in out instant,
be praised for protecting my home..
god of the corridor,
god of the furnitures,
god of the rooms,
god of the cat behind the curtains,
happy inner deities of the family,
and celebrations..
be praised for protecting my home..

Cascade (Cascade of sad music)

I feel lost in thought like I have forgotten
the echoing sadness of autumn's violins
behind me the icy embrace of winter past
haunts my memory like a numbing pain
when I can look forward to flowers of spring
I should almost deny what I see above me
that the starry fields of heaven do attend
in all the beautiful mystery of a dark night
finds one unanswered question in my heart
why did you my love, why did you leave me?
like the rain my tears will never really cease
as long as my heart beats truly within me
when I do all I have forgotten I now recall
the numbing pain that haunts my memory
which autumn violins again stir inside me
the fury of winter brings me here no solace
since my love, being the light of my life
you are my bridge to the world I reside in
the end of the loneliness in which I inhabit
you make a difference more than you know
all the stars in heaven sing your praises
your beauty transcends diamonds on earth
my shame that truly has no name my love
makes me fall in repentance in front of you
as my footfalls depart your gravesite
where beautiful flowers salute your memory
as I look at them like the flowers of spring
no words on heaven or on earth my love
exists more immortal than you before me
why then my love, I ask, did you leave me?
the cold and wet rain is like a cascade
of sad music that never leaves my soul.

An Ode ToMy Friend And Boss

I LOST MY FRIEND THE OTHER DAY,
HE JUST SILENTLY SLIPPED AWAY
FROM THE FETTERS OF THIS LAND -
- BUT - THAT WAS THE MANNER OF THIS MAN.

I VALUE ALL THE TIME WITH HIM,
I FELT A KINDSHIP DEEP WITHIN.
WE THOUGHT ALIKE IN MANY WAYS
WE LEARNED,WE TAUGHT ,
I LOVED THOSE DAYS.

THERE NEVER WAS A WORD OF IRE,
WITH ME AT LEAST,WHILE IN HIS HIRE,
OF ALL,HE WAS MY FAVORITE BOSS
AND NOW HE'S GONE,IT'S SUCH A LOSS.

I NEVER HEARD HIM BRAG OR BOAST
THOUGH HE HAD REASON, MORE THAN MOST,
A QUIET GENIUS TO THE END,
OH GOD, I MISS MY FRIEND.

About this poem:
I wrote this poem a number of years ago in tribute to a man who was not only my boss but also my friend. He was a quiet genius in electronics and one of the earliest developers of cable TV. At one time he owned 9 systems in 4 states. Since this is Memorial Day I thought it fitting to post my poem.

Humble Pie

I've paid my dues
Worn out my shoes
Is life without much gain
I've suffered in silence
Avoided much violence
Peace came without pain
I’ve made my plans
Reached out my hands
Washed out in the rain
I’ve made my way
Always had my say
During my whole reign
I’m ready now
Prepared somehow
To start over again
I’ve conceded to
The cards I drew
Not all was lost in vain

Treasures Of The Mind

The brain is the body’s power source for the mind
While used on a regular basis daily for either good or evil
It is never challenged when children are born to the
World, at that point it is looked upon God’s gift to
The parents. As time advances we discover the child’s
Full potential as the mind tends to decide whether the
Child has developed all that can be learnt by education
From schooling and the arts, sometimes the child becomes
A genius or may take a darker path of criminal activity.
This is were the mind enters this scenario. The child must
Realise by using the treasures of his mind the world will be
A better place for all. Choosing a career in medicine may be
One option healing the sick, another might become a teacher
Educating the next generation of children, all of this the mind
Will assist with inspiration and intelligence.
Then we have to view life as another child would envision.
The world could represent a different and eerie view of horror
Turning his back on society, may become a dictator as we have
Witnessed in our past centuries, using the mind to seek war
For personal profits, hurting families and friends, who knows
What damage will prevail. The outcome rests with our future
Families whether they choose a peaceful existence or war
Which no one will profit from. The treasure of the mind is there
To be used for the benefit of mankind, it must never be used
For man’s downfall.

Solitude Consumes Me Again

Sad Shattered Broken And Alone...Im Back To Where I Belong
Into The Realms Of Sadness...Deep Into The Depths Of Sorrow
I Moan And Weep In Agony...No Ones Here To Hear Me Cry
Cursing My Pathetic Life...As It Mocks At My Helplessness

Tired And Full Of Remorse...Solitude Consumes Me Again

Lived My Life Like A Dog...Always Faithful To Everyone Around
Hurtful Stones Pelted At Me...Never Understood My Crime
They Welcomed With Open Arms...Then Feeded Me With Poisoned Words
Leashed With Pain And Hurt...Battered My Faith Without Mercy

This Dog Is Mad Again...But Then Whos To Blame

Vulnerable Like A Glass...Im Tryin To Be Strong
Strugglin Not To Give Up...Fightin My Inner Demons
A Million Thins In Life...Thought Right But Went Wrong
A Pathetic Loser I Was...A Pathetic Loser I Am

Waited Too Long For A Miracle...To Be Fortunate Again

Afraid To Sleep And Dream...Nightmares Makin Me Insane
My Head Full Of Thoughts...To Terminate My Existence
Hopes Of Survival...Interred Deep Beyond My Sanity
Soul Strugglin To Be Free...Free From Painful Misery

Im Rottin Here In Silence...Waitin To End My Affliction

The Light House

On the stormy rocks the light house stands
Standing tall defiant , it stands on the dangerous rocks it stands
Its beaming white light proudly beaming out over the darkend gale Force seas
Its beaming red light signals to every ship to keep away or danger will be

By day and by night the lighthouse stands magesticly in the sun light the bitter cold of the seas
The waves crashing at its base nestled on the rock , that danger lies beaneath
The waves are crashing and lapping with such force like white horses dancing on the seas trying with its lapping waves to cover up the Lighthouse in its gliding swell trying to move it with force

The jaggerd rocks signals the danger that lies beaneth its base
At its base waiting to snare a boat that comes within its shallow Waters
Determand to destroy any ship or floating vessal off course now the light shines out on the open seas protecting warning to ships who come so near protecting those on the sea

Its beaming light its fog horns warns passing ships to danger in The foggy seas of its presence on the open seas and to the dangers of The open seas

Earth Calling Me Home

The four points of the compass gyrate around,
The plane creaks as it rushes to groung.
Tragedy looms as the captain had said,
One engine gone and the others dead.

Two hundred souls and a crew of eight,
Falling downward with gravities weight.

The flight was normal, all well on the way,
Our speed and direction had shortened the day
And tinted sunclouds were fading to grey.

An explosion somewhere, flames and a rip
Port wing down and all things slip.
Lights dim and fear fills the cabin
The young scream and the old are crying.

All life's hopes are leading to this?
Each one plunging to the black abyss.

The four points of the compass gyrate around
Atomic shower as plane meets ground.
Tragedy came as the capatin had said,
One engine gone now all is dead.

About this poem:
In 1980 I flew to Zambia. In fact then and now I fly often enough to experience emergencies.
In 1980 considered what could happen.
I prepared myself by writing this poem.

Full Moon

Waiting here all alone , sitting on the sofa with my phone
Since you left me as your precious stone
Never know why our love hasn't grown

Nights and days seem gloomy and cloudy
When i think about our memory
I loved you and you loved me
And we didn't care about anybody
The world was only for you and me

The cold wind makes me shiver
The dark of night kill my feeling deeper

Your leaving gives me a nightmare
And i keep it myself not to share
Because it's all about you and me
My love for you will live eternally
