Conrad73: That will be the day!

Arriving at HannityvilleBy Neal Boortz

Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland, California … what do all of these states have in common? They have high tax rates that are driving residents and businesses out of their states. It’s not a list that you want to be on, and yet we have another state to add: New York.

A recent report by the Empire Center for State Policy found that 1.6 million residents have left the state of New York over the last decade. This puts it at the top of the pack in terms of the percentage of residents fleeing the state. Most analysts point to two reasons: cost of living and high taxes. New York has the highest taxes in the nation, if you include state and local taxes. For small businesses, it consistently ranks as worst or among the worst in terms of business climates. Where are people going? They are going to Florida, Nevada and Arizona. These are the fastest growing states in the US because of their warm climates and lower tax rates.

People aren’t just going to bend over and take it. They will change their behavior in order to be productive, keep more of what they earn and get the government the hell out of their lives.

ttom500: All I can say is...look at all the fun we have had since President Obama took office. Don't go into the crisis that were not of the countries making......the Japanese Earthquake, the Haiti earthquake, the New Zealand Earthquake, the China Earthquake, the Arab Spring, the Middle East Isreal & Palistine fight, the Greek fiscal crisis, the Irish fiscal crisis, the other EU fiscal crisis......

to be fair you have to say these were not US caused crisis.

But just look at the crisis that were the countries fault.....the BP oil crisis, the debt crisis, housing crisis, the healthcare debate crisis, the Libyan Qdaffi crisis, the maybe ICBM launched at China crisis, the NASA crisis, the unemployment crisis, the Boomer surfacing near NKorea crisis, the Statute of Liberty fly over crisis, the FAA crisis, the Tax hike crisis, the share the wealth crisis, the Pakistani/US crisis post bin Laden, the Chinese BOP and the Note crisis.......these and a few others were American caused crisis.

again to be fair.....we cannot blame President Obama for all these crisis. Clearly he had other things to do that were more important than to with his time in office than to plan these crisis. The question that the American people are asking, is what other things has he been doing?

Most of these are republican started crises if we are been honest. He sanctioned navy seals to kill Bin Laden. What is so wrong with this? Didn't Bush say he would get him. And when Obama does, he is wrong!! The tax hike crises involves the "bush tax cuts". The unemployment crisis is a follow on from the Bush era. Obama took over at a point when the economy was on a downward spiral. The debt crisis could have been solved without all the partisan politics. Just the republicans using this as a weapon. Very cynical!! The BP oil crisis!! How can that be pointed at Obama?? The housing crisis has many causes. Obama is not one. The healthcare debate crisis?? What?? It was a debate on different ideals, thats all!

Lets stop the partisan politics and be honest. Very few of these are Obama led crises!! Nonsense!!

mr1983: How is this the democrats fault? All the brackets given as an example in this are generally lower classes.
As economies evolve also, certain numbers of people will have skill sets that are no longer of use. Re-training which will involve investment(spending) from government is the natural way to tackle this. But it is time consuming. But now the spending cuts will effect these areas.

Can the republicans not yet see that to put money into areas like this will pay in the long run and benefit all Americans? If more people are working, more tax is been paid and tax rates as a result come down. It is pretty simple. I do understand the worry of government intervention and the dangers of inefficiencies and waste that can occur but government intervention is needed in these areas. Even Hayek, the great free marketeer, recognized the need for this. Of course he had worries and warned against certain dangers but he was not stupid!!

So the tea party get their way, the markets respond by saying it might lead to a double dip and millions more job losses and it is still Obamas fault. The question people should ask now is not how many jobs Obama created but how many he saved. We can see now that the republican policy of cuts, even in a minimal way, may lead to a double dip and worse job losses. And it is still Obamas fault!! Am I missing something here?

Except for Democrats not wanting to spend money on national defense, can you think of ANY program that doesn't need more $$$$. I'm sure Dems have a program to put unemployed penguins to work. (It's probably in the 2,300 ObamaCare bill. We just haven't seen it yet.

You were probably in diapers at the time, but Clinton had a chance to get him, but he was too worried about his poll ratings.

Wouldn't you say that Republicans are obligated to represent their constituency? Obama's not a King...he has to work with the House and Senate.

mr1983: Of course he has work to do to make these situations better. But that doesn't mean you can say he is the cause of these things. Lets be honest and judge him on the work he is doing and if Americans feel he is not doing well he won't be re-elected. But at least be fair in the criticisms. Been realistic, how can the recession and the tax crisis and the housing crisis be blamed on Obama. Maybe he is not dealing with them the way people would like to see but thats a different thing completely.

Are we allowed to give him credit for wasting a trillion dollars and the unemployment rate is up 2% since Bush? I certainly want to be fair...professor

To be honest then.....and to be gentle

I would say some of the US cause crisis were indirectly Obama fault. Some were directly his fault. I will go one by one with you and go slowly.

BP oil crisis. Indirectly extended by the Obama administration. It took them 91 days to put a cap on it. And the coordination of the clean up and the payment to gulf victims was less that stellar.

Air Force Fly over of the State of Liberty. 100% directly the Commander in Chief fault.

The Boomer surfacing off NKorea. 100% directly the Commander in Chief fault.

The Economic chaos caused by the Health care bill. 100% directly attributed to President Obama who spoke on it over 210 time while running for office in 2008.

The failure of the Stimulus Bill TARP II. 100% directly the fault of the President. He let Pelosi and Reid back door a economic recovery bill into legislation that failed to stimulate the economy. The President is also the chief party for legislation creation in our government.

The NASA crisis. 100% the President fault again. He cut the Shuttle and the Aries programs

The unemployment crisis. "No higher than 8%" was the quote and his words. Today we are still at 9.1%. The cause the failed economic stimulus package. But here I think it is a indirect relationship and cause to the President.

Qdaffi Libyan crisis. He unilatroally decided to join NATO in this without Congressional approval. 100% Obama.

The FAA crisis has been resolved. And here he does get a break. This was Congressionally caused.

Share the wealth crisis. Go back to his 2008 campaigning. Share the wealth comment with Joe the plummer. 100% Obamas.

The Paksitani/US crisis post bin Laden. How many different stories did the White House come out with? No photos to verify the death? The raid self was a bit of expert military operations. Ordered by the President.
But the following crisis that came was also the White House's.

China and US, T-Bill, BOP and Currency Issue. Here I cut him some slack. He is not the US consumer buying China made goods in the malls. While they have attempted to get the currency issue under control they have not done well it. And he can restrict the sale of government treasuries to China. That is one his calls as the President. So say 20% his fault.

REP had little to do with these. First two of his administration they were the minority party and out of office.

But like I said....why point fingers.....it is all good (fun) as they say in the south.

Bush inherited the Clinton recession.

The left likes to claim there was a surplus at the end of Clinton's term, there was not.

Clinton had a few budget surpluses. You can too it's easy. Budget $10,000.00 for your next trip to the grocery store. Now when you pay $58.00 with your credit card, you have a surplus of $9942.00.

According to the DNC you now have that money in your pocket and you are a big hero. According to the RNC you just added $58.00 to the outstanding debt on your credit card. They also not that you bought a hell of a lot of candy and not much of the real food and other things you needed.

Clinton did the same thing. He bought "Candy" for the country to make himself look good but neglected the things we really did need to spend money on, like the military.

Yes, the cold war was over but new threats were beginning to rise. He chose to ignore them. Bush did not have that option.

I will research it a bit. I don't have a lot of knowledge of this area. But it still doesn't answer the question I asked. How many sub-prime loans were covered by this act? I think the answer will be very little. So this act can't be in any blamed for the housing crisis.

Now the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act which happened under Clinton is something you should be pointing to if you want to discredit Clinton. But then that was a free market policy and you don't like to attack the free market now, do you??

The housing bubble was a feature of the entire western world. It's just that when it blew up in the US it was more spectacular than in other countries.

Is it really fair to blame the government? We all played a part did we not? Many bought properties valued above their capacity to meet repayments in times of trouble, or rising interest rates. Housing prices are falling all over the western world and these adjustments are bringing prices back to more realistic levels.
