You want to know what is really funny here? Go back to the early days of Obama's administration. What kind of advertising did you see on FOX?
Beck, Hannity, OReilly and all the other FOX segments were running gold and silver advertising. Beck and OReilly were both hawking bullions as a safety hedge buy against the coming Obama administration's fiasco. Yes?
So what does the Obama administration do? Gets into the FOX/Obama Administration controversy....that does what? Brings more viewers to the FOX channel to see.....those Gold and Silver bullion commercials.
That helps to sell more gold and silver and drive the price up.

But the TEA Party and REP did not have control of Congress during the first two years of Obama administration. It was not until the mid term and the American people coming to their senses, that the House became REP.

But to follow up on this. Reagon worked with a split Congress and the country never defaulted on its bonds. Clinton had a split Congress and did not default on his notes either. So it can be done.
But here today...we have this debt crisis....my oh my....another crisis in Washington. My oh my what are we suppose to do? Buy Gold and Silver, and protect yourself from the coming failure of the American government.

G.O.P.’s No-Tax Stance Is Outside Political Mainstream

The back-and-forth of the debt limit negotiations can be perplexing. But the facts driving the debate are quite straightforward. Any deal, or any workaround to a deal, will need to be approved by a majority of the House of Representatives. The Republicans in the House of Representatives are extremely conservative on fiscal matters and are significantly out of step with the public as a whole. Given that Democrats continue to control the Senate and the White House, and that their votes may be necessary in the House as well, this makes compromise nearly impossible....
Few Americans, however, take the view that spending cuts alone should be made in a deal, with no tax increases at all. In fact, only 26 percent of the Republican voters surveyed in Gallup’s poll took that position, along with 20 percent of voters overall.
We can also use the Gallup poll to tease out what mix of tax increases and spending cuts the public would like to see in a deal. Assume that the people who told Gallup that they wanted “mostly” cuts would prefer a 3-to-1 ratio of spending reductions to tax increases, and that those who said they wanted mostly tax increases would prefer a 3-to-1 ratio in the opposite direction. (The other choices that Gallup provided in the poll — an equal mix of tax increases and spending cuts or a deal that consisted entirely of one or the other — are straightforward to interpret.)
The average Republican voter, based on this data, wants a mix of 26 percent tax increases to 74 percent spending cuts. The average independent voter prefers a 34-to-66 mix, while the average Democratic voter wants a 46-to-54 mix:

The race for president isn’t a national contest. It’s a state-by-state battle to cobble an electoral vote majority. So while the national polls are useful in gauging the president’s popularity, the more instructive numbers are those from the battlegrounds.
Those polls are even more ominous for the president: In every reputable battleground state poll conducted over the past month, Obama’s support is weak. In most of them, he trails Republican front-runner Mitt Romney. For all the talk of a closely fought 2012 election, if Obama can’t turn around his fortunes in states such as Michigan and New Hampshire, next year’s presidential election could end up being a GOP landslide.
Take Ohio, a perennial battleground in which Obama has campaigned more than in any other state (outside of the D.C. metropolitan region). Fifty percent of Ohio voters now disapprove of his job performance, compared with 46 percent who approve, according to a Quinnipiac poll conducted from July 12-18.
