brit, especially english, is some of my favorite, it's so wry. I love Monty Python, and the old serials Fawlty Towers and Have You Been Served. Movies that took place in London are some of my favorites for the humor - Bridget Jones and Love Actually. I think the Beatles are funny too in their interviews.
There is some English guy who reviews cars on U Tube who is hilarious - forget the name ATM
American humor is a close second. Thanks for the post Harryonline

Monty Python never grew on me (probably wasn't on TV that much when I was younger...the film they made "Life of Bryan" was really an eye opener for me
Faulty Towers - thats a national treasure, was something you had to watch each week.
Are you being served - again was something I never got in to, even though I used to watch it as there was nothing else to really watch.
Its amazing you get this stuff over there.
An American show called "Perfect Strangers" I liked as well as "Different strokes"
Other Brit humor like are "Open all hours" and "only fools and horses" is well loved over here.
Then you have comedians like "Russel brand" and "Ricky Gervais" who are well known over there.
I was watching some more of "Bottom" (this series was an off shoot from the "Young Ones" (which was completely off the wall too, which someone in the states was telling me they used to tune in to and now own a box set of the series)

Americans make the funniest cartoons. Stands to reason being a whole nation of children.
Irish people are the best at low-brow wit and giving the broadest laughs.
British are the most sophisticated. The best at being clever silly, blending the mundane with the ludicrous or the lofty with the commonplace for comic effect.
We have a lot of good comedians in Canada. We need the humour to get through the bad winters. My favourites are Jim Carrey, Mike Myers and Martin Short.
I like British humour. I remember staying up late at night to watch Benny Hill. Got a kick out of him. Then use to watch On the Buses with my Grandparents. Had a few good laughs watching that.
Lots of good American ones too. Too many to mention except Robin Williams was probably one of the best.
