Yes. A date is a date....it is an opportunity to meet and get to know another human (unless we are talking about schizophrenic wildebeests,....then hey,...the jury is out)
I'm shocked to see that people would much rather date a schizophrenic than a Bipolar person, since schizophrenics -- especially paranoids -- can be much more dangerous & delusional. Bipolars are usually simply impulsive, judgement impaired, spontaneous, & have addictive problems, such as compulsive gambling, risky behavior, & addictions. Yes, they can also have sudden anger outbursts but that is usually because they are 'pushed to their mental limits.' However, schizophrenics are extremely delusional, can feel persecuted & kill their perceived nemesis. Except for Andrea Yeats (poor woman!) I've never heard of a Bipolar person killing anyone, altho I'm sure there are other exceptions. But I've heard of many instances where people were killed by schizophrenics. I'm chuffed this poll was posted as I feel that people need to learn much more about mental illness. Blessings to all of the mentally ill people who daily live lives of quiet desperation, misunderstanding, & internal mental hell!

Schizophrenia and bipolar have diverse symptoms and behaviors, especially with current meds. Ive met hundreds of people who have encountered serious mental illness of all kinds. I would date about 95 per cent of them.

No, Im saying 95% of people whove encountered serious mental illness are no different than any other person who hasnt encountered it. Id be much more worried about criminal behavior and sick attitude types, mostly .
No!! Bad idea... Although I would feel bad for them... but folks with schizophrenia would often blame you for their disgraces and manipulate u and so on...

Yes, I agree. I've met & dated men who have personality disorders, which are NOT mental illnesses; id est: narcissists; control freaks; manipulators; pathological liars; passive-agressives; ego-maniacs; physical, verbal & emotional abusers; insecure men with very low self-esteems; etc, etc, who are much worse than people with mental illnesses!

I think people with 'mental illness' (I don't much like that phrase) are frequently much more self-aware than others.

answered the question on the other thread, but having done farm work as a child and left it for other duties and occupations now self employed, and was myself classified as physically disabled, have to say as long as folks function, do the work and eat good food, we have a cook here, its rural & dont scare the customers I dont have a problem with them, in fact many move on to better jobs after figuring out that there was nothing wrong with them in the first place, many just like me, disabled with agencies tryin to indoctrinate them into the system figured out the system is a trick/trap, I love when things turn out fer the good/when a plan comes together...
I have met schizoids. More than one actually. Dating them would be not good. Two or three of the ones I have met actually had killed someone or did so a month or two later. I knew a man who married one. At first he thought it was cute. His wife had so many moods. In the beginning he would tell us, it was like two different people, then it was like three different people. A few months later he met a fourth person who took off with a new boyfriend, but also looted the husband's bank account and trashed their house. When caught she became a little girl who told Daddy she was sorry but the other girl made her do it. Yeah, head doctors were brought in. The woman was very crazy and a walking advertisement for why short engagement periods before marriage can be bad news.

That sounds remarkably like you're making the common mistake that the very rare multiple personality disorder is included in the schizophrenias.
Schizophrenia means 'split with reality', that is the schizophrenias come under the category of psychoses. Multiple personality disorder is also classed as a psychosis, but multiple personality disorder is not one of the schizophrenias.

I have to say Ken is much better with astro physics
The multiples (if they really exist) that Ken refers to sound like they came out the death row wing of a prison for the criminally insane.
