Itchy...

Followup to the ultrasound... no clot.

I've still got swelling.
Legs elevated at night.
Increased water pills.
More walking.
Soaked the leg with salt water, wrapped with really hot water for an hour.

The doctor was out, but I got to see the Nurse Practitioner.
She believes it's an allergy to the material in the stockings.

2 prescriptions being filled today.
Referral for a dermatologist.
Appointment made.

Someone mentioned kidney having kidneys checked out... blood work from last month shows kidneys and prostate normal.

Pets and dating...

Next chapter...
My mother passed away and I was going through a divorce so I moved back home to care for my father. Someone gifted me a Chow. She appeared to be pure bred but came with no papers. Within a few weeks, she had a litter of beautiful puppies and when they were old enough, we had them in a pen under the tree in the front yard with an adoption sign.
My dad went to the store and 15-20 minutes later when he returned, all the dogs were gone!

Pets and dating...

I know. I took her to Cheesecake Factory... once!

Moving to Florida (from New York) washed the Giuseppe culture out of my family and we were regarded as Italians in diet only!

Pets and dating...

Back in the 80's and my first house was pre-construction. When we moved in, a stray dog befriended us, maybe because my wife fed her some roast beef. Anyway, she knew who belonged and who didn't. Like the time she tore shreds in the briefcase of an insurance salesman!
Missy wasn't spayed and within a few months we had puppies. They went up for adoption and we found them homes. Some time later Missy decided to move on from our lives.

RE: Great Day

Track, I'm left handed. I was unable to find left handed guitar nuts.
Also, I requested they cut the slots with slightly more string spacing.
The cost included new strings, neck adjustment, intonation, etc.

Lightening Siren...

The room must have been dark... I used the wrong lightning.

Wasn't there a country music song about the guy who wasn't bothered when he lost his job, his truck broke down and his his wife left him?

What bothered him was the day his dawg ran away !!

Pets and dating...

First off, thanks for the response.

I'm working from home today and will add some background and stories as a few separate comments.

As along as I can remember, my mother always had a pet, usually a small dog.
Most were fun and an active part of the family. She bought a shit-zoo from a private breeder and my dad said the dog was worthless.

I had a girlfriend in college who had an Irish Setter. Another girlfriend had a German Shepherd. They both grew out of that phase as the maintenance was too high.

RE: Great Day

Good price. Last year, I had a bone nut installed on a Les Paul copy and charged $125.
The guitar new was $250.

RE: Great Day

How is the guitar setup now?

He designed and built a submersible that actually went to the Titanic and explored the wreckage.

Extra virgin olive oil, I do
Turmeric, I do
Cinnamon, I do
I'm Italian and I hate oregano... I'll try the oil.
I've got cayenne, rarely use it.
Raw honey, It's in the house but I rarely have more than a teaspoon full in a month.

Speakers in my House...

In America, they are called vacuum tubes. England and Australia they are called valves.
Same device.

Agreed... As a global statement, guitarists favor amplifiers with tubes for the pre-amplifier power-amplifier and rectifier sections. Only a few transistorized amplifiers were available in the late 60's (Standell, Kustom, Acoustic, and a few VOX models)

That said, Fender amplifiers use 6L6 power tubes and many British manufactured Amplifiers (Marshall, Hiwatt, VOX, Orange) use EL34. Both are 'valve design' but both are completely different in their wattage output and characteristics.
Simply described, the 6L6's develop less wattage and a warmer sound while the EL34's develop more wattage and what's described as a crunchier sound.

Without doing investigative research, It's hard to say exactly what Pink Floyd used in the studio and in concert and many times they had totally different setups for different size venues. I'm not saying they didn't use Fender, I found one link that claims Gilmore used a Hiwatt DR103 100 watt guitar head for most of his career.
Typically, they were modified in the tone circuit and stacked having several running at the same time.

There is some video evidence, In the early days, Pink Floyd used WEM (Watkins Electric Music) as they were out a little before Marshall and offered stacked PA systems the other companies weren't making. Some of the camera views had both Hiwatt and WEM amplifiers and nearly all the speaker cabinets were WEM.

Guitar speaker selections is a whole study in tonal differences.
I'll hold that (maybe) for a future blog.

Itchy...

I'll ask my doctor if there is a test for this.
My brother was on dialysis 3 times a week for kidney problems.
He was diabetic on insulin shots and 50 pounds overweight.

I was telling my daughter about swelling in my left leg and she said I should have my prostate checked. I asked why?
She said "Doesn't prostate have to do with swelling in the legs?"
My response was "Only the middle leg!!"

Dominant Jean...

In the 80's I was working for a sofabed upholstery company and 70% of the workers in the sewing department were men. Haitian men. A lot of garment manufacturing was done in their country. They came to America with a usable trade.

Dominant Jean...

I was shopping a metal frame model, painted finish. Some cheaper models have a metal frame with plastic covering.

No. When COVID broke and masks were unavailable, I shopped for a small portable machine at the local fabrics stores and they had no stock.
Walmart had one on the shelf, but it was all plastic and I wanted something substantial.

They're available now!!

Speakers in my House...

Dominant Jean...

My mother was a seamstress and had a Dry Cleaning & Alterations business for more than 15 years. All the time I was in junior & senior high school, I had to help out after school. She had 3 Singer industrial machines and a blind stitch. I started out removing threads on garments in preparation for her, graduating to doing hems on men's slacks and women's skirts. I learned to replace zippers on easy stuff like skirts. Trousers and blue jeans were my mom's responsibility!
I actually considered a career in the clothing and design business, but rock & roll was path I took instead.

It's not actually worth $739 million...

No winner here.
Ladies, have you said enough?

The former president discussing classified documents (in his possession) with Bedminster Country Club guests and stating "... as president I could have declassified it, but now I can't..."

I see 2 things here:
Admiting he's no longer president and he's in possession of a classified document.
