It's population is a very good size, and yes, it's mainly tourism oriented. However, it's local population is very socially active and business-involved too. I couldn't say why you haven't met any yet though.dunno

Crown, you can be sure that over the years it has been more than just one "something bad" that I've done. But, thank God for His Forgiving, Long-suffering, Merciful nature. I can continue to improve on meeting His expectations.smile happy place

Man Stores Rainwater Since 1976 and Has 6,000 Liters to Get Through Drought. WISE thinking? Yep.

In my part of the world, rain water is not only used as a reserve supply for home use and farming, but also for playing in, bathing, and drinking. Most parents and their kids don't pay attention to the possibility of it being unsafe for consumption (I certainly didn't, as a child), but value it for its origin, usefulness and even its taste.grin
Much later in life I learned that it is better to avoid the 'first' rains, due to the harmful content that may be present in the atmosphere during the first rainfall.

May I share with you a poem I wrote and posted on CS years ago:

ALONENESS
Author: socrates44

Aloneness is different from loneliness
It is an occasion for personal growth
It gives an insight into humanness
And helps us realize our self worth

Being with others continually
Denies us from ever having a chance
To look at ourselves objectively
To build up our own self reliance

Self reliance is the key to coping
With acute periods of adversity
It provides us with an inner strengthening
To overcome and claim the victory

Self reliance is extremely vital
To avoid the feeling of loneliness
Which can happen when there is denial
Of other's support and togetherness

If you feel contentment in aloneness
It can help you to avoid a pitfall
It provides an inner based happiness
Which is the greatest happiness of all

Good morning Socrates, thank you so much for sharing your poem. It is the PERFECT complement to my blog and speaks clearly to like-minded persons who value "aloneness". It is timeless...teddybear wine

Finding Peace in one's space, and with others.

"Being alone is wonderful, we learn so much about ourselves and being alone for me is bliss, the calm the quiet,at these times I speak with my God and that is my way of praying, to talk to God, to get to know God.. To bring my problems and gratitude to him.
You are so right when you say being alone is different to being lonely .. We can be very lonely in a crowd, particularly when with people who are artificial or that we have nothing in common with.
Of course it is lovely to meet with friends and enjoy ourselves but I always enjoy solitude, reading scripture or watching a good movie or a good film. Studying scripture."

Once again UV, I see how like-minded we are. It is, for me, almost exactly as you have said it.smile wine teddybear

Finding Peace in one's space, and with others.

You shouldn't wait "to get sick", but the experience if being alone with yourself and God should be aspired to. Remember, Jesus often spent much time alone with the Father, and in prayer...teddybear

How To Love Your Enemies

Thanks for your comments DL. I am particularly interested in addressing the following comment that you made -

"Complain to God:

Why were Adam and Eve cast out of heaven? Why did they get such a big punishment?
It is because both of them ate the fruit of that tree which God had forbidden to eat.
Such a big punishment for eating fruit only? Is it kindness or cruelty of God upon Adam and Eve?

The God who could not forgive Adam and Eve for eating the fruit, is teaching us the lesson of forgiveness and love."

Whilst I could never 'speak' for God, my understanding of what took place is that :
1. Adam and Eve's act was of disobedience to God's command/directive/strong suggestion, and
2. God's act was of correction, as well as protection.

As children, our disobedience was usually 'corrected' (but forgiven). As parents, teachers, elders and or caregivers we are/have been responsible for providing discipline, as well as protection, as a part of demonstrating the LOVE that we sometimes (so easily) profess. That's what our GOD OF LOVE did, and continues to do.
I do hope that this clears up your confusion.wine

laugh Oh my Bcj, I think I'll have to do just like you do and say to the Lord "...Go get them!" (my brother and his wife). Thanks for that perspective.teddybear

WOW!...Last week was really my worst week this year (so far)...and I'm still recovering.

Thank you for your kind words hpylady. I agree with you (and I'm no "spring chicken"), so having surgery and managing the post-surgery healing process are simple but VERY IMPORTANT concerns for me.

Thanks so much mbken and CW, I am working at it...teddybear

And BJ... I'll ask the Specialist about having the surgery, when I see him at my appointment. I need to be sure about this...teddybear
