Chat, whilst I understand the point that you made (very true), I also believe that the purpose of a billboard is to appeal to persons, subliminally, hence the focus on the graphic more than on the print. A 'picture' would remain in your mind better and longer than print, and has the ability to affect your senses, long after you've passed/seen it. For example, well-known food logos (e.g. KFC, Wendys, Subway, MsDonalds, etc) don't even need words to lure you in; you'll FIND a way to get to one, once your 'hunger' is aroused.
Similarly with other products. You'll usually remember what they look like and can even describe them to others, and getting the relevant contact info after that, may be easier than you think.
For me, 'Dating' is akin to searching for someone to build a medium to long term relationship with. 'Courting', on the other hand, is akin to convincing/or being convinced by that chosen person (aka 'wooing') of his/her keen interest in formal marriage to her/him.
Interesting perspective Kal. However, historically, 'love' and 'marriage' never had/needed 'dating' as a precursor (i.e. first stage of the relationship). But if you see dating as being the same as courting, then I concur.
Wow Hpylady, you endured all that because of pursuing a relationship for 'love' and 'marriage'. I'm guessing for relationship-focus may be different now?
If I had her income, I wouldn't have those problems. One needs to have a healthy respect for money, and be good with budgeting one's income. Sadly, she doesn't seem to have those traits.
OMG, knowing me. I'll probably be "out" quickly and for a much longer time that I should be. Besides, that isn't such a healthy alternative. Btw, is this YOUR way of doing it?
Thanks TM, but you know the competition's only for UK citizens/residents, so that's a no-go for me. I just love the idea of it, and would definitely have entered if I was there.
We are the same...but different.
I hear you Hpylady!
