We have... but we have to make the sausages. We got a stash of the special spices from SA, then the gathering of the meat is a bit of a mission.... for clandestine reasons I cannot divulge my sources. As you know here in CH beef is very very expensive cause the farmers all treat their cows like pets, they get shampooed on Saturdays and their bells are polished for Sundays, etc. I think maybe the cows get taken to church on sundays, where the farmer asks forgiveness for possibly having to slaughter one or two, and blessings on the unlucky chosen ones.
In South Africa the beef herds number about 500 per SMALL farmer, so beef is pretty cheap. Ditto the sheep. And ditto the pig.
Anyway... whenever we do make a batch of "Boerewors" (Farmers sausage)... somehow or other everyone who has ever been to South Africa finds their way here on the day we B'b'que, (or even when its cooked indoors!) and the entire stash gets eaten. And once the body has a taste of it.... you dont forget it so easy, so you keep thinking about it!
Funny thing though.... here in Europe they sell Yellow maize, and in SA the indigenous people will not eat it! So only the white is sold there... different taste.. tastes more like a mealie, that white corn on the cob.
But Im not complaining.... just remarking... in this thread!

Its like the salt here is not salty.
And the sugar is'nt so sweet.
And you don't get hi-jacked in your car.
Or shot at in a shopping mall.

Ten years to me, Freeze, is like the next 50 for YOU!
Earth time says I should be very very old Grandmother by then, all stooped, wearing a shawl over my head, very few teeth, lucky if two of them actually meet! Shuffling down the road, nearsighted, causing havoc by not seeing approaching cars, or teenagers on their bikes.

Actually in Alpha Centauri where I come from, I am no more than a budding young teenager at this time that in actual years is no more than a few thousand of our years, but many many centuries to you earthlings, its just the awful gravity you have on this planet that causes this ageing syndrome that all you humans suffer from. And I been away from my home planet so long that your gravity is beginning to affect me too... so its nearly time for me to depart from here.... just waiting for the mother-ship to re-enter, when your armed forces are occupied with each other somewhere else and dont notice her hovering. So dont mind me, I may not be here in ten years, but wish you all well..... I was just hoping to find a fellow time-traveller here to keep me company while I wait..... Yo Mon Beachcomber! Yo can all bring yo door to surf on mon.... called Snowboarding up in them Alps... yo can do it naked too! Wedy lives on top of a mountain... in a castle... with dungeons.. and a dragon called Lampanzulu or something that is actually his form of transport that he takes his chickens to market in, and returns with loads of tourists, who then go out skiing and snowboarding, until avalanches cover them, and then Wedy rushes out dressed in his Rapunzel outfit with brandy in a barrel, find them, and revives them, with the brandy, then one look at him in his Rapunzel outfit gives them enough energy to exit the Alps and return from hence they came. And leaves him in peace once again to commune with his family of gnomes and elves who live in the gardens..... HA! Thats why he is trying to get CS there... he wants to talk to real people for a change. Should be fun up at his Castle, wonder what he calls it?

Thank you so much you three for giving your views here... Jerry, Algarion and Wedy.
The point Im working on is that it's just basic (loving) touch that is healing to the body, being contact with another living being.
Old people who live alone suddenly revive and get a new lease on life when they have the chance to inter-act with a living being,(masseur, child, pet, etc).
I believe it releases something (seratonin?)that makes the body feel good, and feeling good is healing.
The main point here is that PEOPLE DONT TOUCH ANYMORE.
And this is where the hoo-ha of preachers comes in... its a LITTLE bit of touch (and the mind-set of the recipient)that makes them feel a bit cared for and improves them. But they need more than what they got, and that takes time, and time is expensive, and the healing business is BUSINESS.
The other point raised here is the preacher being able to heal. I believe its a Force of Energy that is conduited THRU the person, NOT the person. Here it becomes an Ego thing that I AM A MIRACLE worker.
...and a way to make money.... using an energy that is freely available to anyone caring and intelligent enough to use it. I say intelligent, because the art has been lost thru the ages, and only people willing to research and question the methods used should practice it... Because (& here it becomes interesting, to me anyway, and hopefully you too), the pain or whatever that you release from the person thru touch travels thru you and must exit from you, otherwise it gets blocked in you, and can cause YOU discomfort.

I have found that animals and little children will never cause any discomfort, even without concentration. But adults have a lot of emotional baggage that can harm others who touch them. Maybe that is why we flinch away from certain people? and cant resist touching an animal or small baby?::comfort:

Actually.... its all because we have lost our sense of smell! Oh yes. And also we dont have anymore what nature provided....We cover our bodies in scented bath soap, powders, deoderant,perfume, toothpast, etc... all masks the "mating" aromas.... Sounds disgusting I know, but its a fact! So now we use the lesser senses of sight to try and figure out if someone is interested or not.
But definately its the man who hunts, he has to hunt, he doesnt want the prey that is too easy to catch! Of course the prey should signal that she is willing to be hunted.... and his stalking should prove that he will make a good provider!!!! Its subliminal in us, and we dont even know what we are judging by! But its all down to the old Caveman story.... he's got to be able to go out and hunt down the Mamoth, and then drag it home, to feed the Clan!!! and I guess he is looking for a capable female who can maybe go do the necessary on the Mamoth so he doesnt have to actually drag it all the way up the mountain to the cave?

Maize meal and Boerewors, with the sausage flavoured gravy.

That's a staple in SA... the sausage is a mixture of beef,mutton,pork, and highly spiced with a unique combination of herbs and spices....a very particular taste.
And the maize is white.... not this yellow that sells in S/land.

And you such a good looking guy, howcome the ladies around the fresh produce section in the supermarket are not picking you up? Or the frozen food section? or the meat market? If you lived in my town, I would probably ride into you on my bicycle and knock you over, fall over, get all entangled with you and the bike, mish-mash all our purchases all over the road, and then you'd have to help load everything up and come over to my place for coffee where we can sort out what groceries belong to whom... and then you'd be so impressed with me, you'd invite me out......! and we can go and cause a stir in the village and give them something to talk about for the next season at least.

Beachcomber... I just found out (amazing how odd and arbitrary things suddenly come to ones attention!) that your Kukubura bird (sorry cant spell it this morning) is a LONER... are you a loner? It hops thru trees all by itself, laughing it's head off!

'Morning ! Another beautiful sunny day in Switzerland...except there seems to be a rather thick cloud between the sun and the land.... but the sun, I'm sure, is shining somewhere up there! And the forests are in thick swirling mist, and that cloud is dripping bits of snow that melts before it lands.... but other than that its a lovely day.
Hope you all having a realy nice day today, and if you're not, there is always tomorrow to look forward to.
