laughHey Freeze... you wouldnt if you read what else he wants to do with his SHOVEL!!!!! I think he boils the water for tea in his shovel, after he's used it to ....... !

But, anyway, wouldnt it be so nice if we all had a sort of spacetimemachine and we could just pop over for a cup of tea, except if its in the morning, then I would prefer a nice cup of REAL coffee!

RE: Saddam Hussein is sentenced to death!

dunno The sentence is passed, but when will they actually hang the man? Personally, I believe this will still go on and on and on... with appeals and more appeals, until eventually the old guy just dies naturally in his prison cell, or in some nice comfortable hospital bed. yawn

These Dictators who kill their people so cruelly, when the time comes for them to face the music, there is always this sympathy for them... when the people who lived under their tyranny suffered indescribably, and are still suffering. People seem to forget, once the photographs in magazines and newspapers get old and tattered, of the horrors these sort of people condoned. Of their soldiers executing civilians, their peoples children dying of thirst or war woundsl, their lands ravished by bombing, all their crops gone, their livestock destroyed, their homes in rubble.... We are becoming immune to the suffering caused by Dictators and extending our sympathy to them when they stand in the Dock to answer for their crimes. To lead a country is not to destroy it. Unless of course, in this modern world, there is a "Third Force" involved, and Mr Hussein is merely a pawn in the game of international intrigue.cool dunno
But if you wanna play in the Big League... then you gotta take the consequences.dancing

RE: Cs forum football clubs..........

Yes Cyberhippy, you are elected to "Entertainment Manager".

Team Manager is me, Smoky.

1st Team main man is Wedy. and he can look after whoever plays in whatever, as I have no idea what goes into a football club, just that I am an excellent manager, very good at managing all sorts of things..... and I can even help you organise a nice Steel Band for one of the after match festi's... who play real good dance music.cheering cheering cheering

RE: Hello :-)

wave Cyberhippy... I also like your new pic.... you look very cute (excuse the expression.. its something us grannies like to use).
You remind me of my grandsons soccer coach, he also wears a hat like yours. He lives down the road from us, and he has the most interesting looking herb growing in a corner of his garden. I always thought it was verboten to grow that particular herb,.... but seems its one of those things that the birds like, so who can help what birds eat, and then .. well you know how seeds get distributed by birds, huh? I see a lot of the grannies in the village pick the leaves, which drape themselves over the little fence right against the sidewalk, I think to make tea?.... supposed to be good for insomnia I believe? or something anyway.dancing dunno dancing

RE: I'm not hiding....It's just that...

It just does not work to give me instructions..... the pics are still in the digital camera..... which connects to the main pc... then has to be transfered to my laptop... and that is the domain of the younger generation with whom I live. Plus I new to this laptop and cant find all the things I used to be able to find! They all in strange places and even look different. So just have patience with me.... all will happen in good time. dancing

RE: work

Tyler you are a wise man! I agree with you here.... "They" got the wives out of their homes, to work in the business place, so they leave their children to strangers to bring up. No time at night except to cook and sleep. Life seems to be just work work, just to be able to live! Or to pay for your coffin at the end!rolling on the floor laughing

Long time ago, wives stayed at home, and managed on whatever wage the husband brought home. Now that is not enough. One day the children will have to leave school to work. Life is just a huge big circle... I think!confused

And, please, if you going to leave, tell us you going, okay? We get kind of fond of you all, and then get worried when we dont hear from you. So Promise? Thanks.

And Mask too, welcome. We look forward to seeing what you look like. Welcome to you too.

RE: charity[begging]????

Yes, I agree, this is True Christian (!) Love, to not ignore the poor. I dont think anyone wants to be a beggar .. its a situation these people find themselves in.
I like to quote our Great Big Instruction Book... and in there it says that we will be asked The Question one day... "Why did you not feed Me when I was hungry?", "Why did you not clothe Me when I was naked and cold?".....
Sometimes its good to remember that we dont know what God looks like, and He could be that crippled beggar on the pavement, or that starving dirty child... we just dont know.cool dunno dancing

RE: Long-disatnce relatioship

Yeah this is a big question.... we all searching, and when we find, what will we do? I for one cannot move away from CH, Im buried up to my arm-pits in commitments here. When I signed in here, it was just a way to try and meet someone in CH, but now Im getting to know people from all over the world! But there is still no personal connection. sigh

RE: I'm not hiding....It's just that...

wave Yes, Im also going to post a new photo. It gets boring seeing the same old face all the time.... so I thought an update is in order.... so if I vanish suddenly, you know the reason why....they busy laughing at me too. I just got to figure out how to download the batch taken last week-end. We had a rip-roaring dinner party here, and at last I have some new photos!dancing

RE: dream date

First of all.. I would spend the entire day in a Beauty Salon having facial, hair, nails, massage, steam bath, the whole catastrophe!
Then the Limo would arrive, Him wearing his Dinner suit.
We'd drive to his private jet, board, and fly to Dubai.
The white Rolls curtesy car would pick us up, and transport us to the Royal Emirates Palace Hotel.
Dinner for two in the private dining room, many many small courses of deletable food, and a forbidden bottle of vintage red wine.
Music would be by a trio of musicians playing soft romantic background music.
After dinner we board his private yacht, and take a turn around the bay, to view Palm Island, and other new developments.
Back to land, back to the jet, in the hotel curtesy Rolls.
We arrive back as the sun is rising......... and part company, him with adoring eyes for the wonderful evening with me.

That day I can sleep all day... uninterupted... to wake up... and find it was not a dream.

RE: SANTA....................

I think they bluff that they believe in Santa... to placate their parents! Kids aint so dumb..... my grand-kids have, with a knowing look in their eyes, questioned how, HOW, does he get down this skinny little chimney, and also, the 5yr old wants to know:"Howcome when their presents are under the tree, from Santa, the gifts are marked "love from Mom and Dad"?..... but they wary of giving the impression of too much doubt, cause the gifts just may stop, if Santa is proved, finally, to be a fraud. But the look in their eyes tell the story... also they come up with excuses to us as to the why and how of Santa's transport, arrival, etc. etc........blues dancing love scold grin

RE: all i want for chritmas is

What dont I know if I get it till I got it? You the guy who needs to know that... if you got it and if you get it, then you will have it, and wont need it anymore, unless of course you dont get it, then you wont have it, so you wont need it anymore either. You could always give it away if you get it, and if you dont get it, you obviously wont be able to give it away either, so lets all just hope that you get it, then you got it. Easy hey? You realy must learn to write better Wedy... you confuse us sometimes. learn to write more clearly like I do.head banger devil cheering dancing

RE: clothes have we become to casual in what we wear?

I agree wholeheartedly! My personal choice in hot weather is.. bikini top and sarong and barefeet.

Unfortunately here in CH, is a freezing winter... so gotta wear LOTS of clothes now. But it gives the body a rest from trying to look so good in summer! Just got to remember there is a body underneath all the layers.... and remember to excercise it... sometimes we forget we got bodies with all the thermal wear! And then to make matters worse, probably cause I come from a hot country, is that when winter approaches, my body puts on a thermal layer as protection against the cold!!!!! where it got that idea from I have no idea, it just thought that one up all on its own. but I noticed it last winter, and when I popped back to my hot country for a visit.... all the blubber layer evaporated within 4 days!!!! so it must be the cold that did it.... incredible.

RE: SHOPPING !

Ah you just turning into a real sweetie-pie now.... dunno its the gnomes that did it huh? they are real cute little guys, and when I send them on a mission, they realy go all out to accomplish their task.love

professor But.. here you just said it, you called it the X day, and X means anonymous, its not anything to do with Christ, thank you for confirming that. Now we got that out the way. yawn

It must be wonderful to be a good gift buyer for the x day, I always admire you people who get all wrapped, boxed and posted in time for your gifts to arrive at their destinations on time.... its incredible. Im just a cop-out, maybe Im just plain old lazy, maybe Im just a slob, maybe Ive just done it too many times in my life... and now Im tired of it. sleep

Having battled to rid myself of accumulated possessions, and found how difficult it is to actually get rid of stuff.... I am hoping that my words around here have been taken heed of, and family have heard my plea for no christmas stuff for me. Being a Mom and a Granny I HAVE to give gifts to certain folk, but i realy realy truly realy do not want stuff... just because its customaryl, I like to keep my possesions to what can fit in a back-pack, and already there is a bit too much.cool

RE: daily topic

Whoooohhh! You looking for trouble huh? Never ever pick on the Swiss Cow Bells, they been around for about 10,000years, and the cows never get lost, you can always find your cow here, just follow the noise.

And I dont make the gnomes pointy hats... they are born with them. In fact they are born fully dressed. Actually they are not born, so much as hatched. Yes hatched. Out of gnome eggs. Didnt you know that? clever professor of the Austrian Alps? So next time you gaily go cracking an egg for your breakfast... you just may be eating a gnome egg, cause they look exactly like a hens egg.... in fact hens lay them. Its just pure luck when one egg contains a gnome.

Thats why its safer to poach all hens eggs, preferably in Vodka, which will prevent you taking on the characteristics of a gnome... and you know what is their main characteristic? dont you? and you dont want to develop one of those, do you? So to be safe... ALWAYS POACH your eggs in alcohol.. any alcohol, if you dont have vodka handy. Red wine is good too, for poaching.

Now will you please stop pestering me with these silly questions about gnomes. Go and read up about them. cool

RE: desert island

a few days later...... and Smoky still wants to know the answer...

WHAT IS THE SHOVEL FOR ? I am entitled to know the answer seeing we going to be sharing this island. Is it for what I think its for? In the army they issue little folding shovels for digging fox-holes against mortar fire. But on this island we not expecting mortar fire, are we?

cool

RE: christmas presents

In the situation I find myself now..... I would say buying presents for kids at christmas time depends on...... how full their bedrooms are !!!!! In this house there seems to be a problem housing all the "things" in kids rooms. Children also get very spoiled with too many gifts. When they reach the stage of frantically ripping open parcels, irrespective of how lovingly the packaging was put together, looking, exclaiming, flinging aside, and grabbing the next parcel..... they getting tooooooo much! When the gifts are left on the floor to be trampled.... they getting toooo much! When they dont remember who gave them what.... they getting toooo much.
And then, at the end of the line.... if they give no thought to THEIR giving of gifts.... ditto.

I would say there should come a time when kids become educated in the value of gifts, not their price or quantity.

But then I am rather old fashioned here, having been born in the last Century!!!!wow

RE: its quiz time

Okay, there being nothing interesting going on here at the moment to answer, I am going to make a fool of myself, again, because, since moving here, with my regulation allowance of 20kg in my suitcase, I had to leave my set of encyclopedias in the last country.....

So I am going to take a wild guess...... the Rhine?

Now you got to tell me what it is,okay?
