RE: service from company,s ad shops

I have come to believe its all in ones attitude.

Demand GOOD service. Demand, without a fuss, your money back if the goods are faulty. Refuse to take a "credit" to spend in that shop... demand a cash refund.

Basic law is "buyer beware".... at the same time "no one is entitled to enrich themselves at anothers expense". Also... the goods must serve the purpose for which they were bought and have a reasonable lifespan.

Call centres are something horrible, avoid dealing with firms using themdevil

RE: cheap travel

laugh blushing I always remember my first international flight.. from the other side of the earth.... like shopping for carrier bags! The cheaper the better. WELL! When I climbed on this plane, it was so tacky I decided I defitely not going to drink anything, so I wont need to use the toilets. When I tried lifting the armrest to get at the remote controls..... yugh... old food had congealed there. Then when the engines started I just sat and watched the body parts begin vibrating.. and rattling... and then the suave little (and he was SHORT... about 4ft 2in tall) captain announced "Cabin Crew.. Assume your positions".. well that did it for me. !!!!
My brother had been an airline steward.. and he always said that when an aircraft captain used THOSE words..... be afraid! It should be, according to my brother, "Cabin Crew... Please take your seats". A little thing sure, but in those circumstances, it sounded like the sentence of death. cool

Family Values

crying Yikes Wedy, you would send ME back to Africa?! After I have braved all the millions of small african states, the dusty dirt roads, the no water en route, the bribery of border guards, the long haul by camel thru the Sahara Desert, the swim accross the Mediteranean sea to Italy, then avoiding the Italian border guards, my trek over the Alps, just to get to Switzerland! Sleeping in the forests during winter, buried in snow, negotiating my way overland without understanding a word of SchweizeDeutsch, where eventually, because of my intrepid brave journey I am welcomed with open arms...
...... only to have you, when you elected to rule the country, send me back to darkest africa!!!!!!!cool

RE: For PRINCESS........

Oh dear Wedy, Yes we got very good quality boots. How much luggage will you carry for us? I think me and Freeze between us should have about 100kg... that should be no problem for you huh? We can hang the kettle and a couple pots off the back-pack straps. We will carry our own change of clothing and our cosmetics and face and body creams, and the mosquito repellent stuff. Its just the food, sleeping bags, tent, blow-up mattress, air pump (unless you can blow up our mattress for us), a few ltrs of water, and couple bottles of wine and some whisky and vodka. The cooler box maybe you could balance on your head, cause we do like icy cold drinks in the evening, specially in that hot climate of the jungle.
Maybe we could get some Coco leaves for you to chew, from the locals, we hear thats very good for stamina and high altitudes, after chewing a few leaves you wont even notice you carrying anything at all. Maybe you could even carry us alternatively when we get tired?dancing dancing dancing dancing

INTUITION...?

I think I should pay more attention to my feelings (intuition)... for the simple reason that whenever I am about to set off to go grocery shopping... when I dilly-dally, and find excuses not to go, I should not go..... Because I am going to get into trouble!!

About a month ago I had to go over to Germany to buy socks for the grandchildren, they were on an incredible "special". Well, on my permit, and according to all the knowledgable people who freely offer advice... I no longer required a Schengen Visa, in fact I had cancelled my appointment with the embassy for that reason, and I now had an expired visa in my passport... not a problem. So off I set.. and at the little tiny rural border post, where I normally never see an on duty border guard.... there THEY ARE... red cones in the road, stopping all the traffic. So I hand him my Swiss permit, and my Passport. He flips thru it, and tells me to pull over and stay in my car, and wait for the Polizei! I sit in my car for one and a half hours, until this huge Polizei truck arrives. They glare at me, and I wait another half an hour. Then I am summoned into the office, and given 5 fullscap pages of documents, and told I am illegally in Germany! (The swiss border ended about 20m up the road.)and they disgusted with my expired visa, and I have to sign these foreign documents, and I am getting afraid of being locked up in a German prison for the weekend, feeling like a POW must have felt way back when. Turned out that I am allowed to go "transit" THRU Deutschland, but not allowed to go shopping, which I was doing, and was honest enough to tell them. Anyway they let me go.(Im still awaiting the outcome of my illegal transgression) And I now got a renewed Schengen Visa!
angel So now I am all legal. So I go shopping again. Didnt feel like it, but had toj, this time for food. And what happens? Coming back, they ask for my till slip. OH NO ! I had illegal meat this time! But they very kindly gave me an option... I could turn around and take the extra meat back to the supermarket... or pay my fine and take the meat home. It was less than 1kg, so I ended up driving back two towns to return the meat rather than pay eight times its value in fines. cool
So, in future, I LISTEN to my intuition... most definitely!!! It usually always works just fine... I just got to listen to it. doh

SURVIVAL...

dancing WOW!What an amazing bunch of people you all are!!!

Do you REALY think you could do it? Up every morning just before sunrise, milking the cow, cleaning out the hen-house, out into the fields tilling your crops, break for breakfast, back out into the fields, or working on your dwelling, til lunchtime. Back to work again... by this time you're aching and sweaty....remembering to gather fuel (and lay in a store of it for cooking) Then you gotta bathe before the sun goes down, in your bucket of sun-warmed water.. (no central heating), make the fire, cook your evening meal, eat it..before dark... no electricity... and cant waste the candles/gas... Remember to milk the cow again, maybe also the goats. Then one day you got to get your cow to a bull, so she can have a baby, so you can keep getting milk. Then you got to slaughter the young roosters that get hatched (cant have too many roosters around) for the Sunday roasts.head banger
Once a month you get to town, to stock up on basics, like salt, flour, coffee. And everyone stares at you cause you look just so old fashioned.... you got no time anymore for fashion clothing!head banger
Wedy.... no air-drops of water, you wont have the money for the helicopter... vegetable sales are not THAT lucrative! So you gotta find water on your land.... no problem, you can always get it piped there. But your shovel will come in mighty handy.... latrines have to be dug, and then re-cycled for manure!!together with the barnyard stuff (Ditto the expense of commercial fertilizers)dancing

SURVIVAL...

INTUITION...?

Intuition.... how relevent is it? Do we listen to our intuition?

HEALINGS.......

Thanks Jan, yes serious illnesses are another story... An advanced cancer or bone disease, is not likely to respond to human touch only. But the very beginning, when the body first senses a discordance, and attempts to heal itself, by itself, maybe Touch, by releasing the seratonins etc, could assist, before the illness got too advanced?
We are always inclined to neglect the miracle of our bodies... the fact that daily it is healing itself, and disposing of mutant cells. And the fact that it needs clean fresh food (like your auto needs clean fuel) to manufacture healthy cells.
Also the action of massage, in our usual modern sedentary life, is condusive to lymph drainage... that action that gets the fluids of the body flowing, and moving out the discarded dead cells. The reason behind the reason for regular heart-pumping excercise... that is just so difficult to get up and do!!

Wedy, have I been so cruel to you? That you want to rip me apart now?
I sincerely hope I am wrong here... and he means something other than what he says... cause he usually confuses me anyway, so hopefully this is just another confusion story here. Maybe what he means is he wants anangel for the top of his Christmas tree?
Sorry, Wedy, I dont do angels. But I do a very good devil devil

RE: World unity... What do you think it will take to make it happen?

Hey Bro.... I think quite possible your last sentence could be true. But then again... the whole set-up word-wide is insane. But it all seems like just toooooooooo much to expect, even if one entire country decided to start acting humanoid enough.... as soon as something seems to be working.... human nature says "kill it!"....
So... a very good thought you have... but I think Humans have lost it already. We'd need ONE extremely wise, talented, powerful leader to force people to toe the line...... but then isnt that predicted in the last book of the Bible? Oh hell, this is too complicated for me, shouldnt have even butted in here... but I like your Thread. head banger

HEALINGS.......

I think I should explain the reason behind this Thread....

For a long time I have been questioning people about Item B, and have found that very very few people have any physical contact with other people... everyone stays a certain distance away from body contact (the Personal Space thing).
Now we know that babies die from not being touched.. fact. Young animals too. Or, if they survive, they have severe psychological problems.
Two businesses thriving in this era of "No Touch" are Therapeutic Massage, and churches who deal in "laying on of hands" (for divine healing, so they claim).
THINK ABOUT THIS.....Could it be that the simple act of touching people.... actually heals them? Not a big deal miracle working haleluya story, but just a simple exchange of electrical impulses, positive/negative ions type of thing.
When a child complains of a pain, one takes the child in ones arms and gently stroke or hold the injured part.. and within a short time the kid is bouncing off to play again... cured?

Is not one of our biggest ailments in life that we are too isolated from each other? and we have to pay professionals to do what family used to do...eons ago. Or fall gullibly into giving away all our money for being healed by a "miracle worker"? cool

RE: education

I must say I am very impressed with the education here in Switzerland! The children are chanelled very early into whatever is their talents, and they are given a broad spectrum of subjects and interests. In the higher school, the children do small "real" work stints at whatever interests them, and companies are encouraged to have them for a few days. So the child gets an over-view of all the types of work that they are interested in, until they find what realy appeals to them, before making a huge commitment to apprenticeship.
And further education depends on their qualifications. There doesnt seem to be any attitude that money can buy "out time" at a Varsity... they got to have the academic marks to qualify for entrance.
What is realy nice here is the fact that ALL work is honorable, irrespective of the type of work, and the employees are specifically trained for good service, thoroughness and expertise in ALL the fields of employment. cheering

Hence the good reputation of Swiss trained personell?cheers

RE: work

Hi Tyler,

You got a thread about "Work", but now you confusing me with your posting... talking about "Love"? What has work and love got to do with Ethnic warring?

In every country, I agree, there is stupid ethnic fights going on. I read a lot, and I am finding that these people actually all live together quite well. It seems to be only when Politicians are involved that the trouble starts. So I think we all got a huge problem with politicians, in almost every country!

In South Africa, where I come from, in my small province, we got the Pondo's and the Zulu's... you can hardly tell the difference between the two tribes, except in small things in their dress and hairstyles, and they all live happily. But then along comes elections, and the fighting starts! I have seen such confusion on faces, they dont seem to even understand WHY they having problems... and then when they discuss things, like between neighbors, they find that its the POLITICIANS causing all the problems.cool

HEALINGS.......

comfort a) What are your views/experiences on Healing by touch? Do you believe the Human touch is condusive to being healed?

hug b) Has anyone psysically touched you today?

Please answer both sections, thanks.cheers

RE: Satisfying Relationships, Attainable or Beyond Reach?

Well I hate to sound depressing here.... but I think something like a Satisfying Relationship is not attainable.... maybe it is for a short time... but they dont seem to last. So when you take all these short term satisfying relationships and bundle them altogether, then that is all you got.... something nice for the moment... but dont expect it to last.
I read in the National Geographic recently that the most sought after commodity in the world now is.... human contact! And the smaller the world gets.. the more difficult it is to make human contact.
And that leads me... finally... to a thread.. which I am now going to write... Read: Healing by touch... is it possible? What do you believe?.....cool

RE: How many of you have actually met someone from a dating site?

I think its just the same as meeting anyone anywhere else.... whats the difference? Okay, I know you cant read the body language, and the dress of the person... but you get to read their comments on subjects, and sort of suss out their mind-think..... so its the same as when you meet someone face-to-face..... you get the first impression, and then later as you get to know them, you either change your mind, or you like them better.
