5) I love to hear that I am appreciated. I need to hear it out loud. I will do almost anything for someone that I love, but if I don't feel appreciated I will give up pretty quickly. I also love it when that person does things for me. You know what I mean...any little or large favor that you would only do for someone that you love.
We create our own existence by virtue of our thoughts.
This is a law of the universe, just as powerful as gravity or thermal dynamics. Positive thoughts attract positive circumstances, people, and things into our lives. Negative thoughts, will attract negativity into our lives.
So...if you don't feel particularly positive at any given moment "fake it, until you make it." And, "Don't think about what you don't want!"
The project: We know that cats always land on their feet. Furthermore, we know that bread always lands butter side down. I would like to find out what happens when you strap a piece of buttered bread on a cats back. My hypothesis is that an antigravitational field will be created. With this manipulation of the laws of the universe we will end the need for fossil fuels, and revolutionize transportaion.
"One night, I watched her at the window in her sleep. I noticed for the first time, how a woman's underclothes barely touches her skin. How it rides on a cushion of air as she moves. How the silk floats about her body, brushing her flesh like an angel's wings, and I understood how a woman must be touched."
It could be. Magic is whatever you think it is. The meanings of words are not found in the words, the sounds produced to form them, the symbols that represent those sounds, or even in the dictionary. The meanings of words are found in people. It only has a meaning if we agree that it does. You see The Sun, but a Spainiard sees El Sol. The glowing ball of fire in the sky is not changed by the noises that come out of our mouths to describe it. It is what it is regardless of what we call it.
Okay...enough high horse. I personally have no interest in the occult, witchcraft, spells and the like. So when I say magic I mean illusions. Remember also, many common 'illusions' have historical roots in the occult. Magicians, Wizards, Shamans, or whatever used thier 'illusions' to display thier 'magical' power.
Most particularly close up magic. I have learned some pretty cool illusions.
I notice sometimes that magic makes people angry. One of my younger brothers, for example, explained that magic makes him angry, because he knows that it is an illusion, and if he can't determine how it is done, it's almost as if the Magician is saying, "Ha Ha! I'm smarter than you are!" He feels insulted because of an illusion.
I think that's crazy. It's only fun when one is willing to suspend their beliefs, and accept the illusion for what it is...a really cool visual spectacle.
If one knows how the illusion is done...all of the fun is gone. It's no longer magical.
Sometimes people are VERY persistant about wanting to know how the illusion is performed. It is the not knowing that makes it magical.
If they continue to insist an explanation...I usually tell them exactly how I did it..."I went down to the library, and I read alot of books about magic. I learned some really cool stuff. You can do the same thing very easily."
Whenever I say that, I know my secret is safe. 98% of folks don't want to know badly enough to pick up a book.
