bajnblue, when I said "For some it may be too easy" I was thinking of you! I was certain you knew the Frost poem by heart and I was hoping you would wait before posting it. As it turned out this thread, thankfully, took a wrong turn, a "Road less travelled" so to speak.
Maybe someone will start another similar thread.
If I do it, I'm donning a bulletproof vest first though.
pump me full of lead? then i'd be surely dead you would have won 1st place and you'd be crowned an Ace were it not for the mistake of spelling break as brake
LOLOLOLOL
All in good fun eh?
Gee, I never thought poetry could be dangerous to your health.
It's funny because according to your "location" changes you make Marco Polo look like a stay at home couch potato. Houston MO, sierrapageville FL and now you supposed to be in spain? Didn't you live at the Vatican at one time?
Well it looks like I wasn't clear enough on my instructions. The idea was to post the actual poem these words came from. Instead you wonderful people dug into your creative pantry and came up with some really beautiful poems. I am impressed with the quality of writing I've read here kudos to everyone who took the time and wrote poems using the words I provided.
so far I have to give first prize to FIRSTLIGHT. Her poem has structure, meter and follows a logical thread. It also has a nice rhythm to it.
Here is the actual poem I was looking for.
Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
By Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
Your job, should you chose to accept it, is to supply the poem these words are extracted from. Sounds easy? For some it may be too easy, for others, impossible. Don't cheat! Good luck.
The one I hope you never get is called "coolwebsearch" it has a load of variations also. If you get it there is a program that gets rid of it called "cwshredder". One of my favorite detection programs is called Bazooka, man I love that name! It's free. Since I switched to windows XP I have been virtually virus free. win 95 & 98 were meat on the table for virus writers.
I think that movies are almost never as good as the book but I can think of one exception. "The Dirty Dozen" The movie was excellent, the book sucked. It almost seemed like a different story at times.
"The Bridge over the River Kwai" was as great a movie as was the book.
Staying with WW2 "The Dam Busters" was a great movie version of the book but the book had a lot more detail about the 617 squadron after the raid on the dams.
"The Great Escape" was another great movie version of a book. The movie didn't go into what happened to the German officers responsible for murdering 50 of the escapee's to make an example out of them but the book did.
Why do so many women find it necessary to answer questions posed to guys? Worse still is if you accept the opinion of women about what is attractive to a man, then you will not know the true answer to your question. For example, if I wanted to know if I had a cute butt, do you think I would ask a man?
I for one much prefer long hair on a woman, it's one of the things that make a woman, well, a woman. Long hair on a woman is a turn on to probably 9 out of 10 men IMO.
You get 2 points for knowing about CCR but as good as their knockoff was, the original was done by Roy Orbison.
By taking her pc I was thinking they would need it to do some forensics on it in their lab to help them track down this scammer. Nothing against her. She is clearly a victim in this episode.
I think you need to define exactly what this relationship IS. Is it you know him & he knows you and you do things together sometimes or is it more than that? I have a few female friends that we hang out have some popcorn, some wine, watch a movie talk and that's it. No big deal if we don't hear from each other for a month. We discuss things but never fight. Fighting usually only happens if there's more going on than just friendship. Where is this relationship going? Or is it going nowhere? Are you guys on the same page? I think not!
Why don't you ask a cop to find out what he's doing? If he's bringing his child with him, esp in bad weather, it could be a case of child endangerment.
Given the choices I'll go with Ford. I think the Ford Festiva was one of the best cars ever made and I would buy a new one if I could. Anyway, I'm a Mazda guy these days. I'll leave this pic up for a day. That is my baby.
You can't blame Hillary Clinton for your troubles. She is not the president, she is not even the nominee of the democratic party. The health care system in the US is what stinks. At least the Clintons tried to come up with a plan at the beginning of Bills 1st term but the republicans blew it away so here we are 16 years later with the same broken system. What has George Bush done to fix it? Nothing but veto a bill to help low income children get health insurance. I have no problem with anybody voicing their opinion or contributing their thoughts but I don't think this site should be turned into a mirror for the one sided propaganda from FOX news.
It costs millions of dollars to bring a new drug to market. The only way it's worth doing is if the drug co is protected with an iron clad patent for many years while they charge a high price for the drug. That is the only way they can make a profit. It's a lot like drilling an oil well. very risky with no garrantees.
Most Americans don't know the difference between a libertarian & a conservative, a liberal & a democrat, a socialist & a communist, a republican & a conservative.
The sad thing is it's all too easy by fear and lies, to spin the great unwashed into electing totally corrupt, ignorant, unqualified, arrogant buffoons to positions of extreme power.
I realize you are just making a joke but the truth is that would be the best thing that ever happened to Mexico and I doubt the Mexican people would lift a finger to stop us from kicking their corrupt government out of power and making Mexico a part of the USA. Giving them our constitution and protection. Just think of all the problems that would solve. All the illegals in this country would become instant American citizens, the 700 mile border would be flung open, we could wipe out the drug cartels. The list is endless but of course it would have some major problems with environtal issues.
