You had the excuse of being a child. I was 21 years old. I didn't tell anyone for a long time in case they laughed.
Now it is funny and I know the horses were probably just curious or used to someone comming in there to feed them or something, (a bit like your cows), but at the time I was living on pure adrenalin for quite a while, it took so long to get my heart to stop racing.
Strangely enough it's not an experience I regret having. I actually enjoyed standing there in the middle of those trees surrounded by those huge beasts and feeling them snorting and breathing heavy on me.
No accounting for the memories people cherish is there?
I was in London in Mill Hill of all places, and was crossing a stile into a series of fields as a shortcut to where I was going. I crossed the wrong stile and someone had put about 20 thoroughbreds into a field. I didn't see them, only heard them thundering up behind me as I got about a third of the way in. Too late to cross back. I had never been that close to a horse before and a spampede wasn't a great introduction.... I ran to a little stand of trees in the middle of the field and they had to stop as they got there but then surrounded me. So I fed them long grass until they got fed up and went away again, and I made a run for it to the other side of the field and home.......
I was scared and certainly watched where I crossed a stile next time..
I think that there are many barriers to the use of the language on here that make people's words seem like statements , when sometimes they are actually questions.
Some have limited use of the English language, some havel limited vocabularies, and some don't have the education to give precise meanings for the words they use.
All of these things can seem like generalisations when people say something in a thread, as well, of course, as some people being socially ignorant as to views on life as it is, and not as they perceive it.
In any forum or place like this, you will often find a mix of all of the above, and to my mind, it is something that just has to be overlooked in the general scheme of things, in order to get the best out of a site like this.
Making allowances for the differences in people and their attitudes, often gives us a better understanding of the diversity of life and people we share this planet with, and is something that we can often learn from.
RE: Good morning Europe
Thanks for making me feel at home.
