i rarely get drunk ......... maybe once this year ive been very drunk, but i was out and about with friends i trust
i like the taste of gin and tonics and sometimes a nice rich glass of red wine
i also like a nice cup of tea
i like going to pubs with friends, or having friends around for a meal and a bottle of something nice
i dont see it as a waste of money if its something i enjoy, and i dont see it as a waste of my time either
if someone is teetotal .... then they get offered a soft drink, i only have one friend who does not drink alcohol at all, and he has no problem at all coming out with the drinkers and having a good time with them

tolkien would send his kids a letter every year from father christmas, and the letters were full of stories about elves and polar bears and fantastic adventures, all beautifully illustrated
all got put into a book, and agreat read for kids and adults

in pre christian times pagans would cut off some ash or oak tree and decorate it, then burn it to symbolise the spirits of loved dead ones crossing over
and each year a bit of that tree is saved, to start the fire to burn the next years one
it was st boniface who introduced the tree as a christian symbol, after watching some pagans decorate an oak , he struck cut down the oak out of disgust and up sprang a fir tree in its place, which he decided was a of christianity
i believe ppl can believe in whatever they want to believe in
and that is truth for them
im not so arrogant as to believe whatever i think is a truth is right for everyone
anyone who believes this or that does not have the monopoly on truth
do these ppl really think they are better and more honest and truthful cos they believe a certain thing??
if god exists ......do they really think he thinks better of them cos they follow him, and think he is truth ??
for instance, they are better and more loved than someone who has never gone to church, does not believe in god but lives a good life helping others and caring for their fellow human beings ??
doing is far better than saying
doing an act for goodness is more truthful than saying an act of goodness
a lot of ppl who belong to a certain faith dont even follow its own rules, yet spout off how they are followers of the one true way
a truth to oneself is personal honesty and commitment to whatever anyone believes in is truth to them whether they are christians, jews, hindus, wiccan, muslim or alien
