Man leaves house (in remote area) in slippers and pj's to get log for fire. Slips and breaks his neck. He lay in snow at -5 degrees C for 24 hours. Dogs body heat saved him as the dog kept rubbing and licking him and it was his barks that alerted a neighbour.
And given the sources you quote on here with their fake propaganda and basically made up stories, if you don't mind I'll take your advice and shove it where the sun don't shine
But then we'll have who is checking the checkers and ridicule and propaganda of people involved to further people's own agenda.
I believe in a free press but I also believe they should be held to a standard and press regulations should reflect that with serious ramifications to whomever deliberately reports unverified and false reporting.
Yeah, me too. It is too easy to make stuff up nowadays.
But I think its also some of the MSM. Murdoch with the Sun, the Times and Fox News amongst others and has had unreal access to Prime Ministers in the UK going back decades. He has influence and has been accused of using that influence in the past.
I like to stick to the BBC, The Guardian and The Washington Post. Our own Times and Independent are pretty good in fairness. Sometimes opinion pieces are slanted, but that's what opinion pieces are for I suppose, to challenge us. It is also worth checking their stories, especially the sensational ones, on other sites at times as I don't think anyone is infallible.
There's a huge amount of propaganda out there some from individuals, some from more scary sources Was reading yesterday the BBC are starting a Fact Checking section for news stories. That should be interesting.
Probably about right in fairness. I think there are worse things being done and people not serving jail time although its hard to compare different jurisdictions.
I admire Mery Streep for what she said. Here's an excerpt.
It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter. Someone he outranked in privilege, power and the capacity to fight back. It kind of broke my heart when I saw it, and I still can’t get it out of my head, because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life. And this instinct to humiliate, when it’s modeled by someone in the public platform, by someone powerful, it filters down into everybody’s life, because it kinda gives permission for other people to do the same thing. Disrespect invites disrespect, violence incites violence. And when the powerful use their position to bully others we all lose.
She used her position to stand against someone who was mocking and ridiculing a disabled reporter. I think we need more of this in our world and keep Politicians accountable to us, and not give them free reign to bully and mock whomever they like.
I wonder did the same people knocking Streep have a go at the peetus when he mocked the reporter ?
Or did they speak up when he tweeted vile messages like this and spoke about it in interviews.
An 'extremely credible source' has called my office and told me that @BarackObama's birth certificate is a fraud. 9:23 PM - 6 Aug 2012
I guess for some its ok for Trump to use his forum and privilege to insult the Potus and advance a fake story, but when an actress does it its too far.
I wish Trump and others were held to the same standard.
I long for the days when the Mods used to tidy up the threads and join threads that were the same topic. The Forums were better then as it made for much easier navigation and more actual debate.
