actually, over 100 years ago, most people drank beer, even children. They used to drink from the canals and rivers, but due to the fact that this often also was used as sewer, and later lots of big factories were dumping their trash in the rivers and canals, the water became undrinkable. In the Netherlands it lasted til about 1850, when in Amsterdam they opened the first water treatment plant.
Important is that you have enough hobbies to fill your week with. Cuz else you are sitting at home all day, doing nothing, just waiting for the end. Saw it happen with an uncle of mine, he had no friends, never went to the pub, had no hobbies, and after his wife past away, (his only son died ten years before), he went to an elderly home, but had no contact with the other people living there. That is sad. Last winter he passed away, and he was happy to go.
why I am on the forums? Don't want to go to the pub every night, been there, done that, it's an expensive hobby and you always drink more than you planned to. Watching tv is not the thing I like to do the whole evening, and talking to the walls is boring, they never answer. So had to do something with my time, and since covid, I have a lot of time to kill, guess that goes for the most people here.
Last weekend our minister of public healthcare visited the footballmatch between Feyenoord (Rotterdam) and Go Ahead Eagles (deventer), just to check if everyone was sitting and kept the distance. In the video you could see the reaction of the Feyenoordsupporters. They sing in dutch: Hugo, Shut up, and on the banner is written: Hugo, sit down and shut your mouth.
bassguitar, play it myself and love it more than guitar (I also play a little guitar).
But ctually, I must confess, I'vent touched my Baas and guitar for over 2 years now. Planning to do, but somehow something is holding me back, maybe the fact that I ain't good, or maybe the fact that I have no one to play with.
