Weesp is a small village close to Amsterdam, and there's still some forts around Amsterdam to defend the city, one is in Weesp. The forts together were called the ring of Amsterdam.
even in my youth I wouldn't have done this. Have been in a roller-coaster about 2 times, but I don't care much about this, or about attractionparks in general. Guess I am to serious for that. We've several attractionparks in the Netherlands, and usually you are standing in line waiting until it's your turn to get into the attraction about 2 hours. The attraction lasts a couple of minutes and then you go on to the next line for the next attraction, waiting 2 hours again. One time they went there from the pub I used to visit, and guy who was really fat had waited over 2 hours to get in the rollercoaster. Then when he sat down it appeared the safety couldn't close because of his fat belly, so he had to leave. Poor guy. They also often went for parachute-jumping, I don't see the use of it. Paying about 75 euro's for a few moments of fun with the risk something goes wrong, and then you die. Why risk your life? I really don't get it.
Totally agree, Sugar and salt, they put it in everything just to make it more tastefull, but do we need it? Hell no, we'd be better off if they didn't put the stuff in everything. Usually I have sugar and salt at my home 1 kilo lasts as long as 10 years minimum. Sugar I only use now and then for my pancakes, a pie (make one about once in 3 years time) or if I am baking bread (since 2 years I quit that now I am having breakfast with not sweetened muesli, yoghurt and a little honey), salt also I only use it for pancakes and bread. Well maybe I eat pancakes 2 times a year.
All the other not natural salts and sugars I get because people put it in stuff unnecessarily. I don't eat chips or salted nuts, popcorn, don't drink no cola, 7-up or whatever, no juice, no jam, no pizza's. Sometimes a microwave meal, but I prefer to cook myself, my only guilty pleasure is drinking beer. But I don't smoke (for over 20 years now) and don't drink coffee (for over 30 years now). Still my weight is way to much.
well, it always can be worse, look at the Netherlands. They started vaccinationg only in the 2nd week of january, while the vaccines were here in december. They weren't prepared, wtf, they got months before to organize it all. I belive now about 10% of the population got it's first shot, a lower number got their 2nd shot. And in a lot of area's you'll have to wait til the end of March to make an appointment for the vaccination. Hope that people see that our government, that don't have the leadership anymore after a lot of scandals, will be voted away forever in 2 weeks. And especially our prime minister Mark Rutte.
For me personally it's nice to talk to people regulalrly, if I hadn't that, it would be really hard for me. But if I had to live on an isolated island, far from all the people, I hope I could make friends with some animals. Bussinesslike, communication is a must, called a lot of schools today to see if there's a possibility to organise an online schoolchesstournament. Still hope to find someone in my area who's good with the programm I want to use.
yes, I will. In the early 80's I wasn't vaccinated against meningokokken, cause it wasn't usual, this vaccination. I got meningokokken when I was 13, could have been I already got in in France in July of 81, but in october 81 (I was 13) I became seriously ill, and it almost costed my life, it surely costed my school carrier. So the fact I wasn't infected was and is still working on for the rest of my life. So any disease I can get vaccinated against I will get. I'm in my early 50's now, and maybe or probably have past more than the half of my lifetime. But allthough I ain't afraid to die, I don't want to make it any shorter too. I know, the vaccination is maybe a way to live less long, or maybe even die quick, but that's the risk I am willing to take, it can also help the people arround me to be vaccinated. When the vaccins are untrustworthy and many people are dying from the vaccin, I guess it would have been worldnews right now.
How about dogs? There are breeds that have a shorter nose, that looks nice for the new owner, dogs with heartfailure, and all kinds of other diseases. Usually these dogs don't get old and have a miserable life. But as long as everyone has a cute dog, they don't care about the diseases. One former aquaintance had a dog that had heartproblems, that's usual for this type of dog. When he was walking the dog it suddenly would lay down and then he had to carry him home. He knew I hate dogs, and one time we had a discussion. And suddenly he said: If this dog dies I take the same kind again. My answer: I thought you like animals.
