I also have felt as you do. There is a saying that was on a plaque I had hanging on my wall as a very young kid. The first time my Father read it, he said "It fits you, comepletely. I rather wish it did not because yours is going to be a lonely path to follow. I know because it fits me too and I have travelled the path you will."
The saying was
"You see things that are and ask why." "I see things that are not and ask why not."
I'm not sure who wrote it anymore, I'm thinking Kahlil Gibran
I respect all religions. I have close friends that I met at college from all over the world. I have worshiped with them, in their religions and vice a versa. Did I feel prejudiced? No, I was honored, my friends were comfortable with me to invite me to worship with them and to worship with me when I invited them.
My Father said that in general, all religions are different methods/ways of paying homage/respect/worship to the same G-d, with the exception of non-belief and any form of evil worship. That was his opinion. I tend to share it.
I really do not consider myself Religious but Spiritual
No, Cristina, you are not weird. You are a good person with good values towards humanity. One of my favorite Anthropology Professors said that those of us who saw no distinction in race among humanity are what he called Link Peoples. He said during a lecture that he believed G-d created us to insure, that in time peace would prevail through the Link People.
I don't have any preference as I see people for themselves. I see all races equally because I have experienced prejudice first hand as a handicapped person, from an early age. This taught me to be sensitive to all peoples.
There is nothing else out there. There is no vegetation growing, it is DESERT!!! THere will never be any vegetation growing there.
even the desert has vegetation. That is why they are called desert plants.
There are some that are endangered. Don't know which ones off hand but in the interest of having things on the planet for future generations, it is best to carefully look into new technology and environment compatibility..
Poor little desert rats won't even be effected by this at all.
That kind of reasoning is why, we have problems in the world. I grew up under High Tension Lines. They have since found that those of us who in such environments, were damaged by the EMF's (Electro Magnetic Field's) created by the lines. (They thought it was safe and they did not know back then these problems would happen)
There are high incidents of miscarriage, rare cancers, auto immune diseases, and species of animals and insects have been harmed or died out. This is why it is so dangerous to assume or rush to put something in with out carefully looking at it from all angles.
OK, I just got some good advice on mine and made some changes tonight, so I'll see if I can help you. I haven't looked at your profile but I have highlighted some things I agree with here and given some of my own comments.
1. I would not put in your profile about having a disability. Just about wanting to be accepted for you (we all want that so everyone can relate). I would tell a woman about it early on if she seems sincere. Honestly, if someone likes you for you, that won't matter, but get them there first. I thought long and hard about this, before I too, left my handicaps for later. I have to say I think it was the best move I could have made. The ones you do tell it to when they contact you, will show what they are truely made of, by if they stay or if they never contact you again.
3. I would add the part about "I don't drink, I don't do drugs and I don't cheat." :thumbsup
4. Talk on the Forums. It's fun and you meet great people. Seems to me that the success stories I've seen on here met that way and became friends first.
Absolutely. There are many people here whom have just accepted me for me.
5. Update. If you've been on here for 6 years, then it's been more than 3 yrs since you lost your wife to cancer.
Ohhhh,: that looks bad could invalidate #3 if it is accurate
RE: No need to worry
That's why I said go figure!
