A thread of respect for Queen Elizabeth who died this day 8th September 2022

This is what many people fail to understand Pete. You only have to look at the thousands of people coming out into the streets to see her cortege as she makes her way home to understand the depth of love this country has for her.

I don't think the World will ever see the likes of this again to be honest.

Ideals

Freedom of speech

Taken, were they arrested or removed for their safety. I believe in freedom of speech but there is a time and place for it[/quote]

It's classed as a "breach of the peace" Emmy and an actual offence but not criminal . That's the difference.

As you say when people are paying respects and in mourning whether you agree with it or not people should try and have more consideration for others.handshake

Freedom of speech

Which happens a lot to be honest and some of it very graphic as has been seen by all the photos posted of late.

Can we truly comment on something we are ,or have not been personally involved in, and are we never to move forward from past aggressions.

Think on this ,

“That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” — Armstrong as he stepped onto the moon.

Seems to me mankind has taken one giant leap backwards of late. Just my opinion of course.
grin

Freedom of speech

Which is the whole point of the thread Cups .We may not agree with much that is taking place in today's World but surely our opinion matters and we are entitled to see things from a different angle.

The put down's and innuendos in some cases are totally unnecessary and unwarranted. Insults to many nations because of that country's political beliefs is pointless .Why insult a whole nation. Just saying

handshake

Freedom of speech

How does one define this "freedom of speech"

'Freedom of speech is the right to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, by any means. Does this then give others the right to cause insult and hurt to others with our free speech.

As decent human beings we never have to accept what others say without question and are entitled to cast an opinion ,yet many times we are castigated for daring to challenge someone .There is much controversy and hate in our World today whether it be political ,religious, colour, creed or even jealousy, which sadly continues to divide and separate us from others.

You don’t have to accept or even approve of all of the other person’s attitudes or behaviours .The most important skill in communication is the ability to listen to others. Rather than doing all the talking, take the time to stop and hear what others have to say. Refrain from interrupting or talking over other people. Sadly we forget the "rules of engagement" for want of better words as can be seen frequently on the Forums and blogs.

Is conversation good for the soul or can it be soul destroying?

You know what I find really sad Pete is all those on here and even the blogs who take it upon themselves to post disgusting comments about her and her family at this sad time.

You don't have to be a Royalist or whatever to understand how this loss has affected so many across the World. She was a human being first and foremost and respected by many . You only have to see the crowds turning out to pay homage to her to understand what she meant to the nation.

Thanks to all those people who took the time to read this thread ,over 4,000 it seems. It's not always necessary to make a comment ,but it's comforting to know that this gracious lady touched so many hearts across the World.

This poem has gone viral so I thought I'd share it with you.

Phillip came to me today,
and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled,
as I whispered that “I know”

I then turned and looked behind me,
and seen I was asleep.
All my Family were around me,
and I could hear them weep.

I gently touched each shoulder,
with Phillip by my side.
Then I turned away and walked,
with My Angel guide.

Phillip held my hand,
as he lead the way,
to a world where King’s and Queens,
are Monarch’s every day.

I was given a crown to wear
or a Halo known by some.
The difference is up here,
they are worn by everyone.

I felt a sense of peace,
my reign had seen its end.
70 years I had served my Country,
as the peoples friend.

Thank you for the years,
for all your time and love.
Now I am one of two again,
in our Palace up above.sad flower
