At the risk of sounding soppy, I would just like to say that I realised last night while I was feeling sorry for myself how much I appreciate being on CS, and how much I love all my good friends here and the fun and support there is to have.
Its more than a dating site; its a pleasure to be on.
Thank you for your good wishes here. I have been to the doctor this morning, and my heart rate is back to normal again, and although there is a slight anomily there, it is nothing serious, thank God.
Thanks again.
I will be looking for lots of laughs here today to chill me out!
Hang on a minute, Tam! You have disrespected the American way of life on here, called their systems hypocritical and various other things as far as I can see in this thread.
If you want people to "discuss and debate in a civil manner and not attack" you also have to follow that creed, dont you think? Cant see how it relates to you being a female either..
The "pretty little brain" comment Im sure was purely because feelings are beginning to run high on this thread, which is understandable, and you yourself are also obviously passionate in your beliefs..
I know this is slightly off-topic but it seems to being increasingly included in this discussion, so I wanted to post.
I can totally understand why certain citizens of the US do not learn another language; they have a delightful mixture of immigrants that allows them to listen and live with other cultures on their own doorstep. I can totally understand why alot of US citizens have not travelled beyond the borders of the USA. Its a huge, huge country, full of diverse sights and experiences, and is far, far more culture-mixed than, for example, England. England is so close to Europe, that it is almost not considered "going abroad" to travel to France, or Spain or suchlike. It does not make Europeans more "wordly" or widely travelled than Americans. It is simple easier, and cheaper to travel to other parts of Europe.
To generalise, and say that Americans are not interested in other countries, or are unworldly is wrong. I find Ireland extremely insular at times, and I also know of English citizens with the same attitude. I know people who have lived in England (or Ireland) all their lives, and STILL have not travelled out of either small country.
I think it is uncalled for to make sweeping generalisations on other country's citizens, and I, for one, would never do it. It smacks of xenaphobia.
I have not commented on the Gun Crime topic, as I admit I do not know about it to contributed constructively, so I will leave that to the rest of you.
I simply found it uncomfortable to read comments being made about other country's citizens.
Well, I congratulate you on your take on things; sounds like you have a solid base, which in this day and age is precious.
I personally see some good things coming out of the recession as regards dating and general communication between people. I believe that it is forces us to go back to basics a little more, and stop focusing on the material and more on what is really important, i.e. kindness, caring, compassion, etc. Dates do not have to be showy, and I for one find someone trying to impress me with showy gestures to be a turn off.
If you really care about someone, and that other person KNOWS you care, the material side of a date is irrelevant. A great effort can be made in other respects, to show that person you think a great deal of them.
If the person you are meeting is not content with what you can provide, and does not understand financial constraints, then they are not worth the effort anyway.
Women think too much. Women analyse too much. Women try to "figure things out too much"...There is no hidden agenda..
All the above can be possible killers of a relationship, certainly love and romance..
We have to STOP asking what it is our man wants, or how we should behave, or what annoys them. In my opinion, there is nothing more annoying to a man than a woman who is constantly looking for affirmation that her behaviour is correct, or acceptable. Your partner is with you because they WANT to be, and they already know all most of your faults and failings. If they didnt, they WOULDNT BE WITH YOU!
Us ladies need to stop thinking, and just enjoy what is given..
