Wow..... I really enjoyed that! Thanks. I'm going to look for it! Is there a particular album that I should get? thumbs up

RE: Is It Reallly True What We Don't Know Don't Hurt US?

I agree. If you think about the example of the affair used by a few posters... Even before you know, your instincts tell you something is wrong and there is a rift in your relationship. You may not know WHY, but it still hurts. It hasn't happened to me personally, but it has to a few of my friends.

RE: iS FLORIDA2010 AS HANDSOME AS HE THINKS?

We can't see you, but your choice of heading, i.e. as handsome as he THINKS, is unappealing. Vanity is not an attractive trait and nor, unfortunately, is insecurity.

RE: URGENT ANY VETS ONLINE

Me too. Good luck! hug

RE: How Many Members on CS

It's true GB. I think age is a definite factor and obviously if you are further afield, the odds decline even more. My experience on a local dating site has been that most of the guys around my age are looking for younger women. My choices appear to be either much younger guys looking for an experience with an older woman OR much older guys looking for a much younger woman. That's just the way it is. So I reckon my odds are not great... More chance of meeting someone through a friend of a friend or by absolute chance... dunno

RE: Do you believe in an afterlife?

Yes. That's the odd thing... It is the best kept secret!!! So please do (although I'll probably be long gone by then)....!! wave

RE: anger!

I'm much the same. When I feel angry, I acknowledge that I'm angry and try to get away from the situation making me angry. Things like running a hot bubble bath and visualising all my anger seeping out into the water helps. Sometimes playing my guitar and singing helps or listening to chilled music. Usually, just realising what made me angry then discussing it when I have cooled down is the best way.

RE: ANNIVERSARY

Hi there! Happy 2nd anniversary... and may you have MANY more! Lovely to hear about these success stories! peace hug

RE: For ladies only...would you ever shave your head?

No. When I was a kid it was always cut short, even though I wanted to grow it. It is now the longest it has been for many years - shoulder length and it is thick and luscious. For me, it is very much related to how feminine I feel. I love my hair. Maybe it is because I'm a Leo? It's like my mane!!!

RE: Do you believe in an afterlife?

Lastly, when my son was 2, he became fascinated with flying. He collected those little model replicas of planes and for his 3rd birthday, all he wanted to do was go on a small plane. One day, he was playing in our garden and going down the slide, then he put a ball on each side of the slide and said: Mom, that's my landing gear and this is my plane. Suddenly he said to me: You know mom, you aren't my first mom you know! I was flabbergasted, but said: What do you mean? He said: I used to have another mom when I lived in America... and she was a pilot. One day, when I was 6 months old, she went up in her little yellow plane and she never came back! This was all said very matter of factly and remember he was only 3!!! I asked if he knew her name and he said Mary. Then I said, that must've been sad for you, and he answered - not really. My dad married again and my stepmother was a lovely woman. Then he changed the subject and carried on playing!!! I wrote it all down word for word coz was so amazed by the whole conversation....

RE: Do you believe in an afterlife?

Yes I do. Have had a few incidents... When I was a little girl I dreamt of being a ballet dancer and walked on my toes all the time (until I was about 6). We were poor though and I didn't have access to classes. When I grew up I used to love to watch ballet and even though I didn't know the terms, I instinctively knew when a dancer was out of sync or had made a mistake. Years later when I was living in California, I was doing an interesting dance class where we would do dance movements to classical music being played on a piano. At one stage I was lifted high in the air by two people on either side of me. That night I had a dream (?) of being a male ballet dancer in Russia. I could see thick dark red velvet curtains which we were waiting to rise. I was nervous because the Tsar was there watching and there was a particular leap in the air I had to do where I wanted to make as high as possible and stay up for a few seconds before gracefully landing! When the moment came, I channeled my energy and leapt up (could feel tingling in a certain part of the male anatomy) and I knew it was a brilliant jump - my highest ever... and when I came down the whole place erupted into cheers of bravo, bravo.... Afterwards I was showered with roses/petals people were throwing on the stage and had to do a few encores! It was so incredibly real that I realised it wasn't a dream, but a memory that had resurfaced because of the jump I'd made during my dance class!!!

Another incident... Was always frightened of deep water, and only learnt to swim in high school. I thought it was because of almost drowning when I was a tiny girl sitting next to my mother on the beach when a freak wave came and pulled me out to sea. Then later a boy pushed me into the deep end of a pool and my sister saved me! BUT when I was on holiday in Hawaii my ex and I rented a small dinghy and paddled out to sea. I thought I was fine, until we got to a point where I couldn't see the land anymore - only large swells. I started having a panic attack (hyperventilating) and screamed at my ex to take me back immediately!!! That night, I dreamt about being a fisherman sailing along the shoreline of Turkey in a little fishing boat. I had to go further and further out to sea because there were no fish close to shore. I knew I had a wife and child at home and needed to make a living for them. A storm brewed up and the weather deteriorated rapidly. Next thing I knew the boat had overturned and I drowned. I think that clearly explains my fear of deep water!

My mother died when my first son was 6 weeks old. We'd waited a long time for me to fall pregnant, so I gave up my job to stay with him. After a while I felt the need to get back to work but was conflicted because I didn't want to leave him either. While on holiday, my son (then about 18 months old) was really sick with a horrible bronchitis and I was lying in bed with him. The windows were wide open so I could hear the sea (which ironically I have always loved)! Anyway, my mind was racing thinking about what I should do... go back to work fulltime or what? Suddenly a really bright light, like the brightest star ever, appeared in the sky and lit up the room. My mother's voice came into my head. She said: Don't worry Heather. It will all be okay. The right job will come up soon, when you're ready. Go to sleep my child and don't worry. I felt totally at peace and fell asleep. A couple of months later, a good friend started at a recruitment agency and on her very first day, a halfday job came in and she immediately thought of me... I went for the interview and got the job!!!

... one more story sorry a bit long winded, but such an interesting subject to me!!!

RE: How Many Members on CS

That's what everyone says! I think to a degree you're right... I mean there's nothing more offputting than an aura of desperation! On the other hand, if you sit in your bubble and don't even try, it isn't likely to happen either, so I guess the answer is somewhere in between the two extremes. I must confess that it is only lately that I've felt "ready" to meet someone and have a more serious relationship, but I am chilled about it. If it happens, it happens. I guess that's what you mean? Anyway, much happiness to the two of you! hug

RE: Happy Birthday jac379

RE: Have you ever ??

No, fortunately only had a few minor accidents!

Have you ever.... said something in anger you really regretted later?

RE: Not for the shy

lol laugh Nice to know there are a few romantics left on this earth!!!

I had a near miss once which would've been very romantic but ended up being funny (and scary)!!!!

We were at my sister-in-law's game farm and she had a large ball and claw bath installed a fair distance from the camp. It was set quite high up with lots of sharp logs and sticks around it and a few trees around. It was both scary but also fantastic sitting in the bath with aromatic oils and looking up at the inky black sky with amazing stars (there's something about the sky in Africa - especially in the bush), absolutely choep still. Things were starting to get romantic in the tub then SUDDENLY we heard this cackling nearby - hyenas!!! You have never seen two people leap out of the water and into their gowns so fast!!! We armed ourselves with sticks, a few stones picked up and our torches and scuttled out of there VERY quickly back to camp!!!! laugh

RE: Have you ever ??

p.s. Ugh re: the worms, but I don't think it's that uncommon for boys to try them!!!! laugh

RE: Have you ever ??

Yes I have.... We are very fortunate because my ex's sister and brother in law have their own game farm in the Timbavati area of Kruger National Park. We usually have family gatherings at least once a year!!!

Have you ever... looked death in the eye?

RE: Not for the shy

Well, don't you think there's something about being in nature that triggers the urge?!!! wink wave

RE: Have you ever ??

Of course!

Have you ever... eaten mopane worms!!!! wave barf

RE: Not for the shy

I have a few outdoors ones:

In a field of nasturtiums (flowers) next to a stream. When I got up, they'd leaked all over me where I'd squashed them, and I was multicoloured and covered in their goo!

In a forest on a bed of soft pine needles...

On a beach surrounded by bush where we thought we couldn't be seen, until we heard a group of German tourists clapping and cheering from a hiking trail high above!!!!

rolling on the floor laughing

RE: CONFESSIONS,,,

RE: What game do you like to watch/play ?

I enjoy watching both cricket and football/soccer. When I was a teenager I played in a girls' soccer team and loved it.... Now love watching my boys' play both sports...

RE: Which do you prefer?

Yes the trouble is that communication is a two way street. Unfortunately someone has to listen!!! That's where the problems start...
