I'm sorry Witchay - we obviously don't have the same taste in men!!! I find him totally unattractive in every way! Although I will admit he is a brilliant actor..... He's all yours darlin!!!!
Thanks for the explanation and WELCOME! This can be a bit of a zoo but usually entertaining!!! I wonder if you sound anything like Richard Burton who I think had one of the most beautiful voices of all time?? Good luck for the rugby - BEAT those Aussies okay???!!!!
Hi there Stef, since I signed up on here in June, I have "met" some really lovely people on these forums. One of these days, I might actually meet some of you in real life too! If any of you are visiting SA, it would be great to meet for a cup of coffee and I could give you some tips on what to do and see....
Yes, I know what you mean. At the same time as it LOOKS funny, it is actually really sad. I'm afraid I have a bit of a sense of humour failure when it comes to seeing people drunk - perhaps it's from growing up with alcoholics??!!! I just hope they never sold him those beers in the end!
I do the same iro reading profiles of people whose opinions I find interesting. I don't go searching through profiles otherwise, although will always read the profile of people who email or flower me. You're very right re: honesty being optional. People can be whatever they want to be. There are NO boundaries on the internet, so being streetwise is essential.
I'm assuming that is NOT fishing??!!! ...and I don't think it's fair to compare gender. We are different - that's all. We're better at some things, and you guys are better at others. It all evens out in the end.
It means we have a lot of responsibility to raise our children with love, nurturing and discipline so that they grow up to be kind and responsible adults. It also means that we have the quiet strength to love and support our mates and help them to be the best they can be - as the song goes, give them the wings to fly!
I agree wholeheartedly. Please don't allow yourself to think that you are a lesser person because he has left you. People do it all the time for their OWN selfish reasons. I know it's hard to believe, but sometimes we go through really really difficult and painful times and we cannot help but ask WHY? We usually find (in retrospect) that it was for a good reason... That we are stronger and truer people because of what happened.
Lots of love and strength to you and to your boy...
Just received this email from a friend (with pics but can't seem to get THOSE to appear) and thought it was HILARIOUS!!!!!
Bob Hill and his new wife Betty were vacationing in Europe...as it happens, near Transylvania . They were driving in a rental car along a rather deserted highway. It was late and raining very hard. Bob could barely see the road in front of the car. Suddenly, the car skids out of control! Bob attempts to control the car, but to no avail! The car swerves and smashes into a tree.
Moments later, Bob shakes his head to clear the fog. Dazed, he looks over at the passenger seat and sees his wife unconscious, with her head bleeding! Despite the rain and unfamiliar countryside, Bob knows he has to get her medical assistance.
Bob carefully picks his wife up and begins trudging down the road. After a short while, he sees a light. He heads towards the light, which is coming from a large, old house. He approaches the door and knocks.
A minute passes. A small, hunched man opens the door. Bob immediately blurts, "Hello, my name is Bob Hill, and this is my wife Betty. We've been in a terrible accident, and my wife has been seriously hurt. Can I please use your phone?"
"I'm sorry," replied the hunchback, "but we don't have a phone. My master is a doctor; come in, and I will get him!" Bob brings his wife in.
An older man comes down the stairs. "I'm afraid my assistant may have misled you. I am not a medical doctor; I am a scientist.. However, it is many miles to the nearest clinic, and I have had a basic medical training. I will see what I can do. Igor, bring them down to the laboratory."
With that, Igor picks up Betty and carries her downstairs, with Bob following closely.. Igor places Betty on a table in the lab. Bob collapses from exhaustion and his own injuries, so Igor places Bob on an adjoining table.
After a brief examination, Igor's master looks worried. "Things are serious, Igor. Prepare a transfusion." Igor and his master work feverishly, but to no avail. Bob and Betty Hill are no more.
The Hills' deaths upset Igor's master greatly. Wearily, he climbs the steps to his conservatory, which houses his grand piano. For it is here that he has always found solace. He begins to play, and a stirring, almost haunting melody fills the house.
Meanwhile, Igor is still in the lab tidying up. His eyes catch movement, and he notices the fingers on Betty's hand twitch, keeping time to the haunting piano music. Stunned, he watches as Bob's arm begins to rise, marking the beat! He is further amazed as Betty and Bob both sit up straight!
Unable to contain himself, he dashes up the stairs to the conservatory.
He bursts in and shouts to his master:
SCROLL DOWN!!!!
"Master, Master!.....The Hills are alive with the sound of music!"
(I am soooooo sorry.....but you really should've seen that one coming!!)
Ha ha... Yes that sounds perfect! But I wasn't talking about on here Robbie! Perhaps you should post a pic of yourself all kitted out in your new work suits FIRST?!!! Then when you have us all hot and bothered, you can put the bottom half up!!! Hmmmmmm. Or maybe the other way around. What do you think ladies????!!!!
Now why don't they make a gorgeous black and white poster for us women of a Scotsman with his kilt blowing up in the breeze? I mean, you guys have the Marilyn Monroe one...????!!! Especially if it is RDM's pic of the hrmph shall we say, rather well endowed Scotsman!!!!! Remember that one gals??? I think it had more hits than any other post!
It's a horrible feeling! I have a rule that I will have a glass of water for every alcoholic drink... Too great a risk to drink and drive plus I hate that feeling of having a hangover! We call it a babbelaas over here! Enjoy your ice cream and feel better soon!
Yes, I think if the person has a healthy self esteem, they enjoy it when you can be your own person! It keeps the relationship interesting and challenging, in a nice way!
Exactly! Too many people think that being in a committed relationship gives you the right to try to change the other person to make them into what you want them to be. The best relationships are those in which both people retain their individuality!
Good grief! What time do you get up in the morning??! I like at least 7 hours sleep... Although I can get away with less. Usually during the week am in bed by 10pm or so and on the weekend stay up later, but then sleep in!
