My sister's tequila fruit cake recipe!!!

I do love tequila with salt and lemon!!!! Yum yum miss those icy cold margharitas we used to drink when I lived in California!!!!

Oy, are you an expat? I've wondered before!! The boys are having some with mash for supper tonight.... I on the other hand am going out with the gals to have supper (Eat), Pray (hopefully not for the end of the movie, which is verrrrrrrrrrrry long), (Love) the sisterhood.....

Just read and think and don't just accept things at face value and you might learn something. Albertaghost is one of the most logical people on this site and he backs up most of his statements with facts/evidence. The whole inside job theory simply does NOT make any sense.

My sister's tequila fruit cake recipe!!!

Was not sure whether or not to put this in this category or the food,wine,recipes one... Here goes....

Once again this year, I’ve had requests for my Tequila Fruit Cake recipe so here goes :

Please keep in your files as I am beginning to get tired of typing this up every year!

1 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup water
1 tsp. salt
1 cup brown sugar
Lemon juice
4 large eggs
Nuts
1 bottle tequila
2 cups dried fruit

Sample the tequila to check quality Take a large bowl; check the tequila again to be sure it is of the highest quality..

Repeat.

Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.

Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again.

At this point, it is best to make sure the tequila is still OK. Try another cup just in case.

Turn off the mixerer thingy.

Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck iin the cup of dried fruit.

Pick the fruit up off the floor.

Mix on the turner.

If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver.

Sample the tequila to test for tonsisticity.

Next, sift 2 cups of salt, or something.

Check the tequila. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.

Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find.

Greash the oven.

Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over.

Don't forget to beat off the turner

Finally, throw the bowl through the window.

Finish the tequila and wipe the counter with the cat.

Enjoooooooooooooooy……….

Well, if you are asking whether men like to feel needed, then I think the answer is yes. We all like to feel needed and appreciated. It's hard to answer this question because I think not all men are the same, and it depends on what insecurities in women you are referring to. Do you even MEAN insecurities, or do you mean vulnerabilities? I agree with previous poster re: liking that feeling of being protected by a man. It doesn't mean I can't take care of myself, but there are some aspects of a man that women don't have, and which I like and appreciate!!!!

I also think criticism in a first contact or date is a definite no no. I've also had comments about how I should grow my hair (like WynterMint) and one cannot help but think - oh, so he doesn't like it the way it is now!

The worst to me is talking endlessly about himself without asking one thing about me; being rude or arrogant to waiters or talking with his mouth full...

A letter from Grandma!!!!

A cute email just received:

Grandma is eighty-eight years old and still drives her own car. She writes:

Dear Grand-daughter,

The other day I went up to our local Christian book store and saw a 'Honk if you love Jesus' bumper sticker.

I was feeling particularly sassy that day because I had just come from a thrilling choir performance, followed by a thunderous prayer meeting.

So, I bought the sticker and put it on my bumper.

Boy, am I glad I did; what an uplifting experience that followed.

I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good he is, and I didn't notice that the light had changed.

It is a good thing someone else loves Jesus because if he hadn't honked, I'd never have noticed.

I found that lots of people love Jesus!

While I was sitting there, the guy behind started honking like crazy, and then he leaned out of his window and screamed,

'For the love of God!'
'Go! Go! Go! Jesus Christ, GO!'

What an exuberant cheerleader he was for Jesus!

Everyone started honking!

I just leaned out my window and started waving and smiling at all those loving people.

I even honked my horn a few times to share in the love!

There must have been a man from Florida back there because I heard him yelling something about a sunny beach..

I saw another guy waving in a funny way with only his middle finger stuck up in the air.

I asked my young teenage grandson in the back seat what that meant.

He said it was probably a Hawaiian good luck sign or something.

Well, I have never met anyone from Hawaii , so I leaned out the window and gave him the good luck sign right back.

My grandson burst out laughing.

Why even he was enjoying this religious experience!!

A couple of the people were so caught up in the joy of the moment that they got out of their cars and started walking towards me.

I bet they wanted to pray or ask what church I attended, but this is when I noticed the light had changed.

So, grinning, I waved at all my brothers and sisters, and drove on through the intersection.

I noticed that I was the only car that got through the intersection before the light changed again and felt kind of sad that I had to leave them after all the love we had shared.

So I slowed the car down, leaned out the window and gave them all the Hawaiian good luck sign one last time as I drove away. Praise the Lord for such wonderful folks!!

I have a friend who made the decision to quit (for health reasons) after many years of smoking, and she hasn't put on ANY weight. She is fastidious about exercising though, and generally watches what she eats. Don't even put that thought in your mind. You can lose the cigs and not put on weight. I did many years ago... Good luck. It is tough giving up that crutch, but if you are doing it for the right reasons, there's no reason you can't stop and EVERY reason to stop.

I miss my best friend Jenny from my childhood days. We used to get up to all sorts of innocent mischief together. She was English (although later moved to Canada) and we had a "secret" club (2 members) and met in her "shed" (converted garage) to plan our next very important shenanigans. We were out on the streets of our neighbourhood playing all day, climbing trees, checking out 'haunted' houses. We once got into enormous trouble because we stayed out til way after dark sitting in a field talking into our unscrewed parker pen tops - we were convinced we were communicating with aliens, and that they were going to arrive any minute to take us for a ride in their spaceship!!!

Have fun gals! I have a 40th tomorrow night which I think is going to be great fun judging by previous parties! I might just have to arrange a driver to take me home.... Other than that chauffeuring children around to various sporting events and next week meeting someone from here (local) who sounds very nice!

Oh no. That's really creepy. A friend of mine here had a terrible time when they first moved into their house. Her daughter used to wake up screaming and things used to drop by themselves and break - stuff like that. Seemed the house was haunted. I think eventually they had to get an exorcist in. It seemed to work. I will check with her. In the meantime, why don't you google it and see what you can do? I think there are certain protective measures you can take just in case.

Yes, but only when I was a child. My best friend's mother was involved in seances and stuff with a ouija board. One day we were playing in the street in front of their house when I noticed my friend's face turning really pale. I looked up to where she was looking and there was a transparent sort of figure up near the top of their garden. My little sister saw it too. We ran away as fast as we could! Later, we had to go and investigate, and we found a red cross had been painted on her maid's door. Polly, her maid had fallen out of a bus and broken her leg and had gone home to her village to recover. She never returned. It was all very disturbing!

I also once heard tapping on our bedroom window (I slept on the top bunk) and when I eventually opened the curtain, there was a man standing there with a big smile holding a bunch of flowers! Eeeek. Getting shivers just thinking about it!

I prefer not to get involved in stuff like that now... I think sometimes it is best to leave things be!

I like it spicy!!!! Your meal sounds wonderful. Yum Yum. Wish I could taste it... I was going to try out a pasta dish with a Thai twist - prawns, chili, garlic, peppers and snow peas but ended up doing something simple, so will cook it tomorrow or Sunday instead...
