Well apart from a somewhat monotonous supply of rain from the heavens (thinking of building an ark), things are really going well for me Gin! How about you?
No. I will never ever have him back. It took a long time and we had a few partings and reconciliations, but I am not sorry we divorced as we are really poles apart in terms of how we see the world and especially, treat people.
I've now met a lovely man and am so enjoying how it feels to have someone around you feel comfortable with and can have a good belly laugh with, and who likes you just the way you are vs always wanting you to be perfect! I wish I hadn't waited so long to get to this point!!!
Hiya gininitaly! Whew. It's a reminder for many of us how unfair many of our health care systems are. Great if you are able to afford good medical aid coverage but the consequences are awful if you are not. It is tricky to decide who should be responsible...
Hey Starshine! Happy New Year to everyone!!! I'm 50 and proud of it. Certainly don't consider myself old but even if I was, who the hell cares? I actually LIKE old people. If they have good attitudes, they are such fun and have so much wisdom and interesting stories to share with us... Here's to the wrinklies, crinklies and all of us who are young at heart...
Zaaark??? All sounds fab except that when it's cold (and honestly, we don't really know what cold is because it doesn't actually GET that cold here...) I like to be either snuggled up under a warm duvet with my special someone OR cuddled up in something warm (I hate being cold) doing the cooking, drinking red wine, in front of the fire thing...
Hey, and Happy New Year everyone! My first day back on here this year!
My day varies quite a lot - hate routine! A few things the same though during the week...
06:00 - Alarm goes off - turn it off (not a morning person) 06:15 - Alarm goes off again - turn it off 06:30 - Alarm goes off again - wake up boys 06:50 - Make sure boys are dressed for school and have brushed their teeth (this requires numerous reminders). 07:00 - Ex takes boys to school 07:15 - Drink 2 cups of filter coffee and turn on computer to check emails
After that it depends on whether or not I have a school workshop to do, as I did yesterday for example. That takes an hour or two. Otherwise, I get showered and dressed at about 08:30/09:00 and will go out and do chores like grocery shopping but usually meet up with friends for coffee or lunch during the morning. Also joining ladies gym so plan to use this time to do that or walk...
13:30 - Pick up boys from school depending on their extra-murals OR watch them play sport - it's cricket season which can take HOURS! Sometimes have school workshops in the afternoons, but usually try to keep them free - may spend time structuring a workshop or doing research on the computer. 16:00 - Help boys with homework 17:00 - If didn't exercise in morning, go for walk now Sometimes cook, or have housekeeper who cooks for us... 18:00 - Check emails/CS again 21:00 - Get boys to bed and read About 22:00 - Usually fall asleep!
Hmmm, interesting lucynad... It's hard to generalise, because some people are unhappy no matter what age they are, but I definitely think as we get older (for me it was my 40s), you are better able to come to terms with who you are, where you are in your life and what you still want to achieve!!!
Shame, sorry WowF. Next year you should look into coming to SA or Mauritius/Seychelles islands..... I cannot imagine surviving through your cold winters. We have a couple of days of rain in a row and I feel miserable! Hope you find a great place and perhaps get to meet someone nice??!!
RE: Do you miss your ex? Want him/her back?
The power of negative thinking?!!!
