Words Of Wisdom

Be the best that you can be unless your best at being an a**hole, in that case, be at your worst.

A game you can play at home

Some of you are cooped up at home, unable to roam the streets,
like you 'normally' do.

Sure, some make fun of the ineptness of the president.
But, the truth is, that it isn't easy to talk like Trump.
Most people simply can't predict how he will say words.
Now you can guess how he might say words and practice at home. cheers

My Covid-19 Blog

Hello lovers!

So many blogs about this famous virus so I decided to just post one of my own.

March 2, we had our first case here in Jordan
government took extreme measures in order to protect us.
launched awareness campaign
halted travel to/from different countries . Thousands of passengers from the last few planes that landed here were taken straight to quarantine areas - 5 star hotels for 14 days.
suspended tourist travels. I had to cancel my trips.
March 10, halted all educational institutions operations, public and private sectors closed down, started working from home
March 17, implemented our National Defense Law, total lockdown.
March 22, the government allowed Gas and Water deliveries
March 23, the government allowed doorstep deliveries of water, bread, and baby formula
March 24, small neighborhood grocery and convenience stores along with pharmacies, drinking-water stores and bakeries were allowed to open from 10:00 to 18:00 .on foot only to get basic supplies; vehicles are still not permitted.
Thursday till Sunday morning, no one allowed to go outside.

425 total cases down to 165 active cases, 7 deaths.

Things here look very promising and could go back to normal soon.

Our government acted early and able to control the spread so yes, I believe the quarantine, lockdown are helping...

meanwhile...

I'm working from home for more than a month now. The company decided to make some golden hand sanitizer so we are busy and still in business, very grateful for that, many out there are losing their job.

this lockdown thingy keeps me grounded and brought me closer to loved ones and old friends. From a distance I'm able to organize a group of young people back home to do something for our small community and help the most needy there. Sent some help to buy sacks of rice and groceries to give to the poorest of poor. Also able to give back to my beloved old convent school, with my classmates, we were able to raise some funds to give to our sisters in need and some of our mentors then. Feels good!

Somehow this virus is doing us a lot of good, we sit back, reflect and realize the most important things in life.

Be well and stay safe everyone!

...changes...

too many things have happened
too soon
too many wants and needs,
too fast
changes here, changes there
and more changes everywhere

New year, new start, new relationship.
New love
A brand new life?

happiness...yes...contentment...yes
Excited yet anxious nervous...yes
To last? That is the question.

Forgivess...forgiveness for...
What...

Today everything is ok...

Have you ever been with someone and your mind when totally blank? No thoughts, no worries,
No nothing. You feel absolutely nothing but pure joy of being with THAT someone. It's like the
World halted for a moment (or a day) and there's nowhere else you'd rather be but there, right at
that very place where he's seated across you - nervous, excited, smiling at you. You keep on
talking and responding but you can hardly hear your voice... It's as if you're not there, but your
soul went to outer space or something. It's not you who's talking it's like you're on autopilot or
watchamacaliit. You want time to take it's time and day to drag itself painstakingly slow. Right
at that very instance you know that no war won't end, no ills will be left uncured, no thirst will
will remain not satiated and no sin is every unforgiveable.

Changes...be positive...life has always a new meaning.

Bad English

In my life, I've read a lot of bad English. Written some of it too, reaching fluency doesn't come naturally nor easy. It's an uphill battle. English is not the most logical language out there. And you really need to check before you post anything... If you don't the joke's on you.

Probably the most notorious bad English comes from Eastern Europe. I'll admit it. Did you already forget Ken Lee? On second thought, it could be that irresistible Indian accent. It's a tough one. Boris the Blade vs Bangalore pimp. I grew weary of English in the last few years and since considered it to be Latin of our time. Now, if you're a Germanic barbarian (and anyone can be a barbarian for pagan Rome) you might not develop a taste for it.

Still, it's more than useful. So I'm removing the dust from my vocabulary vaults these days. Something good knocked on my door a few days ago, and English it's all your fault... Thanks!

I want to wrap it up here, letting my good old man George Carlin say a few words about English. We couldn't agree more. If anything makes a language look silly - it's the political correctness! But pc is just a smallpox of our time, a children's disease. Languages live on in perpetual change and growth. And so will English. It survived without Shakespeare, Dickens, and Twain. English is a tough kid.

Pardon boards, executive clemency, governor's expunge(ment?), presidential pardon....

Highest level of crime here is called a felony, but other languages have other names for same. There is a great difference betwen the USA, where these criminal records used to remain for life, adverely affecting job and other recovery prospects, ---and other places, where after a time, changes occur to allow reintergration into society. And changes have started even in this societal policy backwater. Now, in some States, after a decade or so, former criminals can vote, and have some other privledges. And some employers are encouraging applicants to honestly put such past info onto job apps, with more kindness, trust and openness to human changes than before. I think folks can redeem themselves in many ways, except those who have committed the most egregious sins. Such as our illegal criminal burdenson alien border sneaks. Go Trump!

will-power, hope, belief

Your hopes inspire you to keep trying in a helpless situation. We stop trying as soon as the hope is over.
But a strong-willed person is not affected by helplessness and hopelessness. He/she does not stop trying even when all hope is lost.
Ordinary person try with hope but strong-willed person try with determination, he/she does not depend on any hope.
But at some situations in life, everyone's will power becomes weaker, at that time hope becomes the support.
Sometimes such a situation can also come in life when the will-power also ends, the hope also ends, the person becomes completely helpless, then in such a critical situation his/her faith/belief becomes the support. This belief can be about anything, it doesn't matter what that thing is.

And I don't know what to do when faith/belief is also gone.

A Restless Night

I think it may have been because I was frustrated at nothing interesting happening on the site last night that I ended up in one of my funny moods. The kind of mood where I feel like picking a fight; only a virtual fight, I wouldn’t dream of getting myself involved in a real one. So, anyway, I went into the forum and did precisely that; I started on someone I didn’t even know just because he didn’t wholeheartedly agree with something I’d posted.

It obviously annoyed him and he did fight back but I don’t imagine it caused him any distress. It did cause me some, though. I went to bed feeling guilty about it and it took me ages to get to sleep. When I did eventually drop off I was plagued by very uncomfortable dreams; one of which woke me and, not being able to go back to sleep, caused me to get up and have a cup of tea.

So, if anyone reading this blog finds me having a go at them for no apparent reason, sometime in the future, you can take satisfaction from the knowledge that it will hurt me more than you.
