Turning Negative to Positive
I woke up around midnight and couldn't fall back asleep. Got up a couple times, played a computer game, didn't get sleepy, tried to watch a documentary on China history, didn't get sleepy so I let my mind wander.
Bear in mind for those that don't know me, I semi-retired two months ago and moved from one city to another. I now live ten minutes (probably less) from my aging parents. After working my whole life, going to school, raising kids I now find a lot of extra time on my hands. What to do?
I know I'm getting back into volunteering as I did that in the city I just moved from, the main focus was feeding the hungry but donating my time is on hold for now until I know what I want to do or am needed.
When I was younger I was gung ho to garden and loved what I grew, somehow I faded away from that but the juices to start gardening again have been flowing recently. My first attempt at tomatoe & eggplant in a "grow pot" was a failure. I'm joining a community garden which I think my last blog was about. I saw their compost piles and got even more inspired. The month of July and August are brutally hot here, to hot for most things except onions and okra but it dawned on me while I couldn't sleep and went into busy brain thinking mode that I could start seedlings in the house. I jumped up to go watch you tube on how to do things.
So far I built an egg carton greenhouse to start some bok choy seeds given to me and some cherry tomatoes. Then after several more videos I'm all into making some bean sprouts all of which I dearly love. Now I'm just waiting for it to get light enough outside so I can go get my soil to prepare, hence why I get to write a blog while I wait for the light.
If I were working, not being able to sleep would be very negative, but now that time doesn't matter I can turn it into a positive!
Of course I will probably fall asleep before I get to eat breakfast, so what, who cares!

Way of comunication
I believe for some who used to work in a company consist of some expatriates will face a communicating issue.
I am working on a accompany that allow me to meet , deal and communicate with many expatriates from India, Pakistan , Japan, and Korea.
And I think it is not easy to deal with them. Mostly on communicating issue.
Sometimes what we mean opposite with what they mean.
One day, I got assignment from my Japanese Superior. He asked me to make a document export.
I have done it and only awaiting for his signature. When he asked the document, I said it had done already . But he said, it had not done yet. I said, yes it had done already. Again, He said it had not done yet.
Finally, I knew what he means. For me "had done" mean I have already finished made the document, But for him, "had done" means the document already made and included his signature. W/o his signature that mean had not done yet.
Following one speaker of " Global Leadership Summit 2016 " Mrs. Erin Meyer;
" The way you communicate , affected the level of clarity that you give and hope to be accepted when dealing with others."
And.Asia continent included on High Context communicating which are implicit, layered, and nuanced .
I think I face a big challenge of communication ahead...
Any suggestion to help me deal and do a better communication with my expatriates?

Carrots, Eggs, or Coffee; “Which are you?”
This beautiful story has been circulating on Facebook. Unfortunately we cannot trace who wrote such a touching and insightful piece. Nevertheless, we are sharing it to those of who have not read it yet.
A young woman went to her grandmother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved a new one arose.
Her grandmother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her granddaughter, she asked, “Tell me what do you see?”
“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” she replied.
She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they got soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it.
After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The granddaughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma. The granddaughter then asked. “What’s the point, grandmother?”
Her grandmother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity–boiling water–but each reacted differently.
The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.
The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.
“Which are you?” she asked her granddaughter.
“When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?”
Think of this: Which am I?
Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff?
Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.
When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate to another level?

Taking the wind out of my own sails
When I’m feeling self satisfied or smug about some achievement, the greatness of which is no doubt considerably more impressive in my mind than in anyone else’s, I often find myself the victim of an unconscious part of my psychology that obviously begrudges my feeling excessive pride in myself.
As I go about my business, in a very pleased with myself state of mind, often as not, I will very painfully stub my toe on something or sharply bump my elbow or embarrassingly trip up in front of someone. It’s as if one part of me is saying to another part of me, who the fcuk do you think you are?
And, to be honest, if I was the subconscious part of me, I would do exactly the same.

....Yep, lets hear them.... Those hopeless, ephemeral, doomed, time and breath wasting New Years Resolutions. I've already hinted at mine. Including---much more targeted flirting. Being kinder to the world, including to dozens of strikingly lovely females nightly scratching at my front door. Less impossibly cognitively fathomable, intendedly putatively significant, somnolence immediately generating, ---cryptic scribbling. Above all those containing a trace of waxing narcissistic, on all my greatness and unmatched modesty. Much fewer rank base political meanderings. Ditto for comments on such, especially when sourced by AOC levels of thinking and knowledge base. And a few more, too personal to mention, except in more private venues. All have have had auspicious beginnings over the past few weeks. Except for the HARDest one, VERY hard. Abandoning my wanker ways of life. The flirting and tree house might just help with workable results on this last pledge.

Resolution is to be more reflective on everything. Don't know when the next show is
but whatever your lot in life whatever your dreams and desires you seek. i hope
you can find that magic within to make it reality. I have had just mere wishes to
actually come true...let's call them miracles. So this is just for you my reader
who wants to believe. Yes and again I say yes...let the so called learned be dammed
and stay in the darkness of ignorance for the world is full of MAGIC.
