Trump Disquaified

"The Colorado supreme court on Tuesday declared Donald Trump ineligible to hold office again under the US constitution’s insurrection clause."

Of course Trump will appeal to the Supreme Court, but as he has threatened their continued existence, I'd be very surprised if they favoured Judge Wallace's bizarre ruling over his disquaification.

What economy?

Things are booming. Uh huh. That is why people are getting evicted and homeless and are maxing cards and pay laters for Christmas shopping when they still haven't paid off last years.frustrated
I had a dentist appt so had to tough it out and leave farm to head into town. Well, if I HAVE to go to town, might as well catch up shopping.
Stopped at Goodwill. First time in over two years. Why did I bother?doh Prices on clothes are half of new prices in box stores. They are now peddling lots of new items. Bad enough to ask double the price the dollar store asked, but I should shop like a regular store too. Not!
Went to Dollar Tree. Gee, guess they finally got the Christmas inventory. laugh Couldn't find what I wanted so total was small. Some things are a good deal. Others?rolling on the floor laughing Wow... 1.25 for glittered styrofoam or paper.scold
Went to Wally world. Inflation is down? Someone should tell them. Friend likes Miracle Whip. Idea for gifting. Oh now I see why he won't spend the cash. $5.38 for oil and flavoring. And same price for mayo with eggs and cream. Pass!mumbling I checked clearance prices on clothes. Yep..that is not going home either. And since when do they charge 25-50 for a garment?
I spent 158 and part was for gifting. Or pantry stocks. I have no idea how a family can afford to eat. Of course fast food workers in Cali got a raise to $20 an hour.roll eyes

NOW HIRING...

I hit a few appointments today where one was at a construction site and another the service entrance to a large condominium. It's become normal to have NOW HIRING painted on the work trucks.
Why the constant advertising for tradesmen ??
I suppose when times are good, businesses are expanding and always have the word out for more help.
I cannot say, times are good right now, so my realistic thought is the working conditions with those companies is so bad that they have a constant turnover in help, thus requiring hiring all the time!

That reminds me of a company I worked for 35 years ago where the owner didn't have to fire many people... they usually quit after a month or two.

I think at one point, he had employed every cabinet maker in the county.

Chance of a Lifetime

The Rolling Stones are going to go on yet another tour in the United States.....Not that many people (That are still alive) are even thinking of going to see them any more But Though I am not going to go? Maybe some of you might want to go for the chance of a lifetime And what might that chance of a lifetime be you might be thinking?
Having the chance to watch either Mick Jagger or Kieth Richards drop dead right there in front of you!!!
Just think now You could go back to your home town and be able to tell everyone you come across that you with your own eyes saw Mick or Kieth drop dead on the stage right there in front of you!!!!

i
live alone, but what I am so grateful for is having a personal relationship with

my
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Life has no meaning without Him.
I would be lost without knowing Him through His Word, the Bible. What a tremendous comfort in knowing that I am NEVER alone in this life because He is always there with me, no matter what difficulties I face
God is walking with us daily when we fall he helps us up, When we.. get...
hurt he will comfort us, Help each other give when possible
God Sees All Things..Good deeds go a long way, What comes around will go around.
amen.

Hendrik

HENDRIK VAN DER BIJL
By Willem Petzer.

This South African could have been the richest men in the world alongside of the Rothschilds, Carnegie  and others.

Hendrik was the greatest Engineer South Africa has ever produced.  After he invented the first intercontinental Telephone in America, had he stayed there, he could have become one of the Robber Barons, alongside Vanderbilt, Carnegie, and Rockefeller, but he decided to come back to South Africa and build our Industrial sector from nothing, after the devastation of the Boer war and great depression.

Hendrik was the son of a Farm worker (not a farmer), who saved up to buy his first oxwagon to start transporting goods between Pretoria, Kimberley, and Cape Town.  It was on the back of this oxwagon that Hendrik taught himself Mathematics, and Physics.  He then studied Engineering in Stellenbosch at the age of 16, and studied for his PhD in Germany, at Leipzig University, at the age of 21.

After completing his PhD, he went to work for Bell Labs in Cambridge, Massachusetts, a company that employed 15 Nobel prize scientists up until today.  It was here where Van der Bijl invented the first intercontinental telephone, by creating a telephone able to make a phone call from New York to Paris.

He was asked in 1920, by Gen JBM Hertzog to return to South Africa, to help with the struggling Industrial sector.  Leaving riches and a prosperous career in America behind, Van der Bijl came to South Africa with nothing.

He was the founding chairman of Eskom, leading the company to become the first to power a major city with electric streetlights.  The first in the world.  Under his leadership, Eskom, which he started from nothing, became the largest and most profitable Electricity provider in the world, powering every African country as high up as Ethiopia.  He stayed on as the Chairman of Eskom until his death in 1948.

Other companies Van der Bijl created and ran were Iscor, Amcor, the Industrial Development Corporation (later becoming the CSIR), Transnet, and Safmarine.

Had Van der Bijl built up these companies in his private name, he would have been richer than Rockefeller at that stage.  Funnily enough, Hertzog suggested Van der Bijl start these companies as private companies.

But Van der Bijl did not believe in Capitalism.  He was a nationalist.  He believed in public utilities, for the people, by the people, as he outlined in his 1919 paper "Scientific research and industrial development."

When he died in 1948, he had little more than a house and a car to his name.  Today, the legacy of Hendrik van der Bijl is plundered through corruption, state capture, mismanagement and looting. but despite stealing 100's of billions, and enormous mismanagement, poiticians, syndicates, and other criminals have still not been able to destroy the vast wealth created for this country by Hendrik van der Bijl.

Let him be our example.
Hendrik van der Bijl, and many other greats like him, are the people we should be looking up to during this time when we feel like the entire country is being destroyed by corruption and incompetence.

Let us learn from great men like Hendrik van der Bijl, and create instead of criticising. Let us plan and implement today as once was built, from nothing, by great men like Hendrik van der Bijl

Interview with US Army General Hodges (Retired)

One of YouTube's most respected bloggers (Perun) did an interesting interview with former US General Ben Hodges about NATO Training and Lessons from the War in Ukraine,
I present it here for those who realize the 'MSM' has probably been telling truths all along since 2016 and who are curious about what lays ahead in that conflict theater.
Listen or not, your choice.

Let it blow, let it blow, let it blow...

The entire state of Florida is engulfed in heavy rains and extremely high winds as a result of a low pressure system in the Gulf of Mexico. I was out a few times today and witnessed it raining sideways, about the same as a direct hit from a tropical storm. Most wind gusts are around 25 to 30 miles per hour with a few bursts of 45 miles per hour.
The wind report is easy, it's the local flooding that could occur, especially near the East coast. The warnings went out yesterday.

Some of my neighbors have moved their cars to higher ground, I'll keep watch and if I think there's a chance my street will flood, I'll move my car too. Years ago, a few of us lost cars to extreme flooding that was nearly 2 feet deep in the middle of the street. I heard it was fault of the waterway management system who failed to turn on the pumps that take sewer water into canals and reservoirs. After four hours of steady rain, It was half the night waiting for the streets to drain.

Rain water drainage is an issue...
As far as the high winds... Let it blow, let it blow, let it blow.
