Stick it up your nose...

Stick it up your nose to prevent a COVID-19 infection.
I read a story that Columbia University researchers have developed a nasal spray that has successfully prevented COVID-19 infections. Interesting concept. It's not a vaccine but a lipopeptide (lipid and peptide combination) that blocks coronavirus from fusing with the cells membrane. The effects for a dose have lasted 24 hours.
Initial tests were successful and it will require human clinical trials, so it's not likely to go public soon, but there's always the chance should it go into production it would be successful in limiting the spread of the virus.

Just stick it up your nose!

Maybe Barr is scoring points for the afterlife...

It was Bill Barr who in July this year supported Trump's warnings that mass mail-in voting was vulnerable to election fraud. Unfounded claims only there to boost Trump's chance for re-election.
Tuesday, Barr stated somewhat a complete reversal:
"To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election."

Adam Schiff tweeted:
"If you've even lost Bill Barr... it’s time to pack it up.
Voters made an overwhelming statement about who they want to be our next President. (And it wasn't Trump.)
America has important work and serious challenges ahead. It's time to stop paying attention to his sideshow."

I cannot say what the future holds for Bill, but it appears to me he's scoring points for the afterlife.

Taking things for granite...

English is a second language for most of the people I come in contact with. Some get it right and some don't.
Air conditioning mechanics (and amateur handymen) affix duct work with a strong, long lasting tape named 'Duct Tape. For those who hear it differently call it Duck Tape.
So many pronounce it incorrectly that it gave rise to a company who manufactures Duct Tape under the name of Duck Tape!
Lots of Spanish speaking people in the drafting/engineering field often label drawings Guest bedroom as Guess bedroom... I guess they're not sure who will be sleeping overnight.
If it belongs to me, I say "it's mine" and not "it's mines"

So let's not take things for granite when it should be for granted, otherwise it's a waist of time!

Black Friday... Waiting 36 hours to get a PlayStation 5.

A California man gets to GameStop 8pm on Wednesday to be the first in line when they opened on 'Black Friday'
Stock was limited and that store had only two PS5's and four Xboxes.

A Sony CEO stated that console (PS5) inventory was completely sold out.

I'm concerned about the 36 hours... I'd need Astronaut style absorbent underwear for a stunt like that!

The things people do to get their game on.

Pardon me pres...

It's customary for presidents on the tail-end of their stay to pardon a few people on their way out.
On Wednesday, Trump announced a full pardon to his ally, retired Army lieutenant general Michael Flynn who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in its investigation of the 2016 election.

Lots of speculation to the long list of others... like Roger Stone and Paul Manafort.

Does this list of pardons signify the realization that Trump acknowledges his presidential term will end in January?

I demand a recount...

In the case of 'You get what you pay for' the Trump Campaign demanded a recount of votes in Milwaukee and the result increased Biden's margin of victory.
Obviously that didn't go as planned.

There's a lot of dough in PIZZA...

When I commuted from Miami, I was in the car at least one hour every morning usually listening to the local Classic Rock station. The announcer is friends with the owner of a famous coal fired pizza establishment that has several stores in South Florida.
From time-to-time they would talk about pizza... ingredients, method of cooking and cost of the raw materials that went into the making of pizza. According to what they were saying, surprisingly a 16" cheese pizza had only a few dollars of materials (dough, cheese, tomato sauce) in the making and sells for around $15. Adding a few toppings could drive the price to $20.
I grew up a few blocks away from two of the best pizza parlors in Miami and a bit picky to the style of my favorite. Thin crust.
Now, I'm 40 miles north of my old location and surrounded by a few 'corporate' style Italian restaurants. For the most part, pizza here is lacking. There is one place a few miles away that does the same style as I had in Miami and for a few years did a Monday special 18" thin crust pizza for $10. Times change and after their COVID shutdown the price went up to $12. Understandable and I consider it a deal.

Looking for the perfect pizza had me experimenting with homemade pizza. All of my tries were done in a small electric toaster oven, probably less that $30.

Today, I saw an article about the best pizza ovens for home use. The cheapest was $50 and the most expensive being $1,500. I'm disappointed as the $1,500 model only does a 12" pizza!

All I can say right now is... forgettaboutit

chatillion's guide to holiday eating...

In the past at family gatherings, I'd put a small amount of food on my plate and sit at the table. That was my first round, time to sample what I wanted for the next round.
Often, I'd hear "What... you're going for more?"
I'm done with the guilt-trip comments.
Today, I filled my plate like I was at an all-you-can-eat buffet. One trip!
No 'why are you going back' comments.

So take it from me... if you've got family concerned about your intake of food in this holiday season... Load 'em up as you'll only get one round.
