Discovery

My brother is a diabetic with macular eye disease. Over a year ago he gave up sugar which shocked us how determined he was not to eat bread, pasta or sweets. He just gave them up completely and he used to be a pasta and sandwich boy. Not any more.

I've mentioned before how FB floods me with recipes. Well I saw these snowflake balls which only consisted of crushed pineapple, cream cheese, chopped pecans (or walnuts), rolled into balls and covered in coconut. (all unsweetened) So I made them this morning and they are delicious so I will take them to him later. It doesn't taste as sweet to me as it will to him because all natural fruits is much sweeter to him now that he gave up sugar.

I'm still fighting the bugs in my garden but at least it is growing since it is still HOT here.

Making all the plans for a big feeding fremzy for Thanksgiving with the family. I will drive to Orlando the day before to feed the less fortunate then drive the 100 miles back home but that has been my tradition for the last 15 years. I need to find a place in my hometown rather than drive to my old town.

Next on my list is to make Daddy some apple butter which in turn makes my house smell devine.

The day is MINE and I'm so happy I can hardly stand myself since the rest of the world is still asleep.

Family, less unrefined carbs, Tgiving time together, food, and feeding the indigent. The garden bugs are all applauding you as you walk by.
Oh yeah don't forget the fungus among us in my garden, in this tropical weather I have to learn how to fight fungus too.
The Funguses will likely applaude differently from the bugs.
Good morning F. wave
Your brother needen't give up sandwiches. Just have him substitute whole grain bread for white bread. The crushed pineapple & chopped pecans & coconut sounds like a yummy topping for; salads & cereal, or as an inclusion in pancakes. dancing
He won't touch bread no matter what I say as I've already told him about whole grains, he still won't touch whole grains. Maybe a potato once in a blue moon. I would die for his will power.
