Perfect gifts – edited from week-to-go to Got one! last comments
There was a joke suggestion on FB re the perfect Christmas gift for writers so naturally I re-posted it on the spot but it got me thinking. Perfect gifts cost the giver nothing but time and a bit of thought, and delight the receiver. What else qualifies as a perfect gift? A bunch of wild flowers is the only other one I can think of. Nice but a bit – boring. There have to be other things in this crass commercial world which have no cash price yet are priceless. When we were kids, hell, easy – parents finding time to play a game of our choosing with us was the best gift of all.
Tough to work out what someone else would like. Perhaps there’s something real and achievable you’d really prefer to a pair of socks or another woolly or silky scarf for your collection. If you could share, that’ll give us all ideas
And yeah the grownup version of ‘finding time to play with us’ would go down well but not all of us have someone to oblige
Off to school, where a good rating from a student means a bonus for me, so I’m sorted with my wish for today . . .

The above gentle hint was brought to you courtesy CS blogs
Chocolate for fun gee I usually eat it to cheer up. I never realized before if you're already on a high, it has to be stratospheric
Here was what I could think of.
...well, I would be SO impressed if somone brought me wild flowers at this time of year...
Wishing you all the best over the hectic season and an exciting and happy launch into 2019
Was telling Art just yesterday that on his next Asia trip, he gotta visit Singapore so that I could show him around my previous working place...The Raffles Hotel
They have a suite named after Rudyard Kipling. Oh! Abd there’s a Somerset Maugham Suite too!
We would need to head over to Long Bar after that and have its famous ‘Singapore Sling’.
Just kidding.....
......
To me a book which was donated a charity in SA in 2008 when she died, found its way to the only person in Canada who would have recognized the name, and was forwarded to Spain, is more Christmas.
We called them punkah-wallas in SA, too, oddly enough
sorry, I am eating them all...
Those do look amazing!
Oh and by the way I was awake until 3.30 this morning and strain my ears as I could - not a whicker, not a jingle, not a peep, never mind Hey Prancer Hey Dancer etc etc.
Huh.
For me, a gift is a good wish and a meaningful connection in the spirit of Good Tidings.
your blogs perfectly reflects how this site should be; serious, but always fun.

And hugs - one size fits all, and they are easy to return
hoping you will one day make it to Spain and we can have glasses of wine for real - maybe even chocolate
Hope you had a fantabulous day and are all braced and ready for the rigours of 2019!
Anyway, there’s something I need to inform you. Will send you a message later
Going out to have din-din with my son and gonna watch Aquaman after that The director, James Wan is of Malaysian Chinese descent.
Message here or Skype? I no longer keep it switched on but will check later in case
Enjoy your lunch, Biff!
I hate mince meat myself so I made a few with white chocolate pies for myself
to all my children to buy M&S pies and keep for me for when I am back in the UK lol.
And, AND, hostess gave me a little jar of her "mincemeat" so I can make my own, oooooooooooooooooooh.
Been a good Christmas. Good company, thoughtful touches (things downloaded off TV for me to watch, as I don't have a telly) and even a handy one-size-fits-all donation into my bank account, although talking of one-size-fits-all I shall be bursting buttons off my clothes for a week
Next step - 2019. Brace, brace.
"Brace yourself, Bridget!"
I'm a bit devastated to learn the world's best talkers, the kissers of the Blarney stone, can't do a smoother job
