This is predictably formulaic.
Merely pointing out the obvious.

I suppose just like many other demonrat attempts, they need as many lies as they can muster and hope eventually they get one or two to stick well enough.
Thus, it would be extremely foolish to lie at this point.
Instead, the more he honestly confesses, the better it will be for his sentencing (from his perspective) and also they will be unable to prosecute him for crimes that come out
of his confessions, that he isn't already charged with. So, it is wise to tell all truthfully.
His attorneys likely educated him about that, and the fact that evidence turned up by investigators could contradict lies. This is why it is such a very useful technique in crime investigations, such as Trump's.
