Bootgate: How tall is Ron DeSantis...

I'm calling it Bootgate and you can quote me on that! Soon to go viral, people are wondering how tall Florida Governor Ron DeSantis really is. He's out on the campaign trail with hopes to be the 'chosen one' for the Republican party at the 2024 election. A man who's body shape and stature being shorter... he played baseball, so there should be some statistics on that. I think some stories claim he's are around 5'-7" or 5'-8" but mister 'boots' may be hiding something inside... lifts to make him taller. But, how much taller?

I've read that DeSantis has claimed he's 5'-11" and that would mean the lifts would bring him up at least 3 inches. Why the suspicion? One photo showed the toes of his boots are flattened... as if his toes aren't there. 3" lifts would do that as his heels get propped up, his toes wouldn't reach the front of his boots. Simple geometry.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

When approached, he denied it.

Who cares - for him it is just a vanity issue. Not at all (a tall) important! On the other hand, this is:

So, what do you call a man who is being catty? I guess there really is equality now.

My own opinion...I think they are just cowboy boots with pointed toes...

Nor, do I care how tall he is...

I do not care for many of his political leanings though...

You remind me of the rabid women on the view..when they put down his wife..for wearing too much makeup etc...

I think they are a very attractive couple...And, very good parents...

Dang Chat..you proved cattiness is alive and well in men.
Huh?
It has nothing to do with his wife. It's about him lying. Height issue is often an ego issue.
People have noticed and I blogged about some of the news reports.
Pretty simple for a governor how has everyone else under a microscope.
Still comes off as catty to me...

And, why people would blog about this kind of petty stuff...especially now...

Something I do not care to be part of...

BTW..I do not put that kind of stuff under a microscope...very big difference when it comes to policy...and someone’s physical attributes...

You have a good day Chat....
Talk about lying. I've had a few absolute stunners say 'hi' to me on cs over the years. The only turnoff was their 3' height. I'm 6' 3" , can't see myself doing that to a beautiful lady.

laugh
The funniest thing here is you seem to be troubled with a politician that lies. rolling on the floor laughing
You're entitled to your opinion.
thumbs up

Sorry you didn't see the humor in a little distraction. There's too much shit going on in the world. Should we ban all petty light-hearted blogs and comedy?
I could easily go back to Trump blogs, as there are usually 10 new news stories about him and his legal issues... daily.
No trouble. Glad you laughed.
Lord Ron DeSantis.

I think he's taller than Ron.
I trust men who dye their gray hair a little less than I trust men who don't.

Shoe lifts are another height of low self esteem.

Generally, these are not solid men you want to be trusting or relying on.

I acknowledge that public figures have extra factors to consider, but I'm still judging him a little.
thumbs up
Good assessment. Thanks!
I distrusted Ron DeSantis by his words and actions, the faking his height is icing on the cake!
laugh
Studies have demonstrated that height effects a person's sense of power.

Taller people are also perceived to be more competent and to have more leadership qualities than their shorter counterparts.

That would suggest he's trying to fake it until he makes it, but maybe people are seeing through that.

Cottoning on to him using lifts perhaps just explains what people were picking up on anyway, that is, his body language, demeanor, behaviour, etc. doesn't match up with the person he is trying to portray himself as. dunno

It certainly comes across as him lacking confidence, personal congruity, self-actualised traits and integrity.

That's not the kind of person who should be making unqualified, blanket and remote medical decisions about women's reproductive health.
"That's not the kind of person who should be making unqualified, blanket and remote medical decisions about women's reproductive health."

I agree that unless he has done some deep diving into women's reproductive health he would be unqualified to make these decisions. thumbs up
Napoleon was a very short man, adored and followed by the French and British people, a valent and courageous military leader. A master at tactical warfare.

The British government were so afraid he would take the British people they had to isolate him on an island and then murder him.

Height has nothing to do with ability or leadership.
You're getting into the area of dictatorship and, well, Napoleon complex there.

"The Napoleon complex, known informally as small man syndrome, is a syndrome normally attributed to people of short stature. It is characterized by overly aggressive or domineering social behavior, and carries the implication that such behavior is compensatory for the subject's physical or social shortcomings."

Many dictators were/are shorties.

That's not the same as taller people feeling more powerful, or being perceived as more competent and better leaders.

Late night TV host is talking about him too!

Goes perfect with this blog. Even has the boot in itlaugh

idea

Desantis should stuff his cowboy poulaines with moss. giggle
Ehm, are you saying Napoleon was an aggressive person?
I think the man was rather great.
So "The Napoleon complex" is an unfair name in my view,
however I understand it was easy to pick him as he was the shortest
and the most famous at the same time.
Oh.

You haven't heard of the Napoleonc wars, then? uh oh
What you mean b7 that, nope not really... he won almost ever battle he went into, unbeliveable leader.
Winning streak unparraleled, exept maybe of Djengis Khan and Alexander the gr8.
If you're too aggressive, you will lose fast.

Napoleon was fabelous.

I get it. That's how history is twisted cos somebody needed a catchy phraze.
He was far from angry, actually very charismatic and admired.
Napoleon that is.
About DeSantis... not so certain.

beer
So, you're sayin he wasn't an aggressive person because he mostly won wars when he invaded to build his empire, rather than lost wars when he invaded to build his empire.

Just a big ol' fluffy teddy bear, eh?
He was not an angry small chap.
Great man dispite his size.
There is litterature on him, read up if you wish.
