Favourite Place

Where is the nicest/best place you have ever visited, and why?

(Don't include places you Want to visit, but have not yet done -that is fuel for another blog!laugh )

My favourite place, to date, has been Cuba. I went in 2012 and immediately fell in love with it.

From the vibrancy;music;architecture;cars;dance and overall energy of Havana to the laidback; languid;halcyon paradise that is Trinidad to Cuba

But overall, for the people - so friendly; courteous;helpful; positive in the face of adversity ;sexy; gregarious;for their queueing system;their entrepreneurship; and their warmth heart wings

Hi NS hug The West is certainly the best!
The top op Table Mountain at full moon.

It is the only place and time where you can see the sun setting over the Atlantic Ocean while the moon rises over the Indian Ocean.

Absolutely stunning.

The place where I absolutely loved was a city in Vietnam, once named Saigon...at a table outside a cafe in the early morning having my french coffee and pastry watching the people and traffic...
Nice..thanks for sharing Louhandshake
The nicest places I have ever visited have been in my dreams, or during my astral journeys...wave
I hope to visit them in this reality too some day...angel

Non. I hope you will show me that place in Ireland when I visit you? I have already invited you to see the guns when you come to Spainhug
Hi Minerva, you will love Ireland when you come here. It is beautiful.

I am an annual visitor to Spain. A bit like a migrant bird flying south for the winterlaugh
La parva chile beautiful senary lovely people and great food.
China beach vietnam very beautiful very simple people cleaner air
Hi Leah handshake

I've been to Chile, but must have missed La Parva doh

I agree, Chilean people are lovely

To me, it is the people, rather than the place, leave the lasting memory.
Well Itchy.
to be honest Galway did come to mind wine laugh
Minerva,
The world is our lobster laugh
for me Bali is the best place, like paradise... Sanur Beach, Puri Santrian Hotel... is so great for honey moon.... the weather, the view, the beach... white sand... the traditional things, the peoples so friendly... you may googling this place... love
For me China the food was delish and the views on great Wall fantastic. A ride in the bullet train was unbelievable and the culture through out the Country amazing. A very big eye opener.teddybear
@Molly...... I've been to Quebec city and Montreal!! Very nice!!
I've also been to Naples Florida, I thought it was great!!
thumbs up
Lake Powell - border between Utah and Arizona - outside the tourist high season.
Exploring and living on a speed boat, wandering for hours bare feet over the red rocks without meeting another soul for days was life transforming experience.

@ Smartass, I've lived 13 years in Sanur crying
@ Smartass, I'm homesick. Saya biccara bahasa Indoneisa - cucup untuk bisa hidup tapi terlalu bodoh untuk bahasa Bali. I can eat a nasi campur with one hand and craft offerings and decorations out of banana leaves and the one I'm really proud of.. I can put on a sarong myself and still be able to walk in it! That took a few years laugh
ooohh my God Outsideofbali... I always glad when found a foreigner able to speak my language... and you speak very well. Homesick, you mean you wanna come back to Bali? 13 years is not short time dear.... I understand if you feel homesick to come back there..
Shark tooth hunting in prehistoric sea beds with a baloney sandwich in one hand and a Diet Pepsi in the other in a place called Oildale, California!!

The excitement of seeing what the world once was like!
Tierhoek in the Richtersveld...South Africa. Nothing there but peace and quiet. Sat for hours on a flat rock in the moonlight listening to the night sounds around me.
Hi Smart, I did Google Sanur Beach and it looks lovely.

Redex, China must be like another world..

Hi Daniel, Canada is wonderful. I have only been to Toronto/Ontario area yet. I have never been to Naples Florida, but have been to Naples, Italy..does that count? Lol

Hi Bali, that is an interesting choice, thanks xx

Wow Ed, sounds exciting!

Hi Ek, SA always sounds amazing..thanks for sharing!
Hi Molly, I have been to so many places but nothing impresses me more than the only existing untouched by human hands area of the DAINTREE rain forest in Queensland Australia. Trees grow mile high up in the sky and the creatures would sing in harmony in the middle of the night. Was a religious experience. Very humbling and very insignificant for me to have been a human being with the beauty of Nature.

@ Ed. boy you are so easy my dear Ed. I lived once in Bakersfield you know? that is supposed to be the first place where they discovered oil? What a reservoir that is.

Thanks, and of course Sydney to me is so beautiful, The Rock.

Hi Srwave

Montego Bay Jamaica.

Beautiful sands, the waterfalls, just perfect.

Ashville, NC

You can feel the positive artistic energy in the middle of a southern state that I did not expect.
