The Earth Is Flat!
Can you believe that, in this modern day and age, there are still people believing that the Earth is flat? Several cults and associations support this notion. They have ‘very good’ refutations for any scientific proof that the earth is round. When shown some of the photos of Earth taken by NASA, their only comment was that it is easy to see how such photography can fool the untrained eye.
My grandfather went to his grave believing that the earth was flat and that it was stationary. This I can understand. He was an illiterate man and the only writing he was capable of, was to sign his name. But some of these people are well-schooled people.
When somebody tells me that the earth is flat, I cannot argue with him. How do I prove to him that the Earth is round while he choose to ignore the scientific evidence and has a ‘good’ argument to support his viewpoint? I was taught that the Earth is a slightly flattened sphere. I never saw it and I cannot authenticate the photos taken by NASA because I was not there. I have to believe it because everything else tells me the earth is round.
But I wonder if these people really believe that the Earth is flat. Or are they just trying to be difficult, awkward, radical, or different? I know a lot of people like that. Well, here is a cause for them to support.
Becoming an associate member of The Flat Earth Society is free. For those who wish to take on a more committed role in the Society, full membership (including a signed certificate, membership card, and hand-numbered Flat Earth Society medallion) is available at a small donation.
I was brought up with a lot of misconceptions about many things. Some things that I was told are right, were not right and other things that was said to be wrong, turned out to be Ok. We are conditioned by our environment but as we grow up, we start thinking, we look around, and we learn. We weigh up the evidence and decide for ourselves. We cannot stare ourselves blind into what we think is true.
Oh, did I tell you that there is no such a thing as gravity?
I hope you enjoy this weekend.

Iknow which one I want for a flat mate,
Yes, so I noticed. Cannot fault him.
No problem. No hijack this.
Whenever I travel through the Free State I want to believe the world is flat but then I hit the mine dumps...
Another blog topic to contemplate...lol...but did find a lesson in it...too rigid thinking can be stifling to creativity and knowledge...an open mind is good!!
For most gravity is a true phenomenon...you just have to become older to experience it...lol...
Have a good weekend too...
I can promise you that gravity does not exist. It is the suction action of Earth that is perceived as gravity. I'm sorry but this is not debatable.
It is no longer the Orange Free State. There are no oranges, nothing is for free and the place is in a hell of a state.
Nice to know you.
No sweat. Where are you, somewhere in the East?
