I always wonder
no that isn't true I never wondered it in my life before. But I do now.Harun Yahya (aka Adnan Oktar) says "I always wondered why birds stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth. Then I ask myself the same thing.'
Well - ah - um -

They sound awfully like excuses to me. I'm a bit of a gypsy at heart, and right now, right this minute, I would sell up and take to the road in a comfortably-fitted-out gypsy caravan to lead the gypsy life at the drop of that hat.
Lets swap.. Please...

Good night all Sweet Dreams
I'm flying south this weekend, but only a few hundred miles, not expecting tropical sunshine or Spanish-style fiestas. Just warmer rain, really.
Okay, a place that's hot, but not too hot. Has a week of snow a year, but otherwise is temperate and pleasant, with lots of variety and easy travel options. Where is it?
Do I complain? yup sometimes. Especially when the rain looks like it will never stop.
But I also know I live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. And going to West Cork on a sunny day in Spring or Summer makes me forget the wet days.
Also, I live 10 minutes from the airport, which can bring me to Malaga in a couple of hours, and I can lie on the beach in the heat to my heart'a content there , and forget about everything.
So it's all good really.
Yes, Scotland on a sunny day - winter OR summer - makes up for the wet ones. When I walk the dog on the foreshore, and the waves are glinting in the sun and the sky is forever, it doesn't matter whether I'm bundled up like a snowman or in summer togs, it still catches my breath after all of these years. In fact snow on the mountains opposite just improves the picture.
I probably needed to be reminded of that.
Snow as well? Wow. Thought you only got that kind of combo in NZ. Hmmmm.
However, when I go to Spain, I am lucky enough to have one of my best friends living there, 5 minutes walk from the beach, and an open invitation to go over whenever I want.
I love friends
Then friend got into such a complicated multiple love-life it stopped being an option - or maybe I just wore out my welcome?
Nah. I'm a wonderful guest. Terrible, terrible, hostess, but a wonderful guest!
They have just bought a holiday home up the mountains as well, so it will be a 2-resort holiday next time...ya!
I'm the opposite. I hate moving and renting and finally made up my mind after 10 years to settle down here. There are some things I'll never get used to, but I love my little home and have no intention of moving again EVER.
Hmmmmmmmm.
You could have something here.
Z said Spain I had thought when first retired of Malta but found it so different then when on holidays and too hot for me, so I reckoned Spain in summer would be the same. So came back to North East.
I holiday in Scotland a lot as you know, the scenery is out of this world the air so fresh and clean I love it and recharge my batteries that way.
mmmmm A bird no no a butterfly for me I would come back as butterfly
I like my stuff around me. Living on the road for a while still sounds attractive, and then something a little more permanent. Like this?
the wind in your hair, the freedom of the road ... a loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou, beside me in the wilderness.Plus when the neighbours get annoying, up anchors and sail on.
That's one of my most complicated mixed metaphors yet, I think. :quiet pride:
Golly I am on a quoting ROLL
You said it to me, right?
